Day 2

Today we shall do the first current event for the semester. As always no sports or entertainment unless it relates to a larger societal issue. Please remember to give a brief summary and then connect to you, the community or the world.

So many people in America are obese. Study's show that boys with obesity start puberty later. Thier normal-weight counterparts with theri ability to start puberty sooner. With girls, if they are obese they start puberty sooner. This can cause a burden on these boys who cant start puberty at the same time as others. I think that so many people should care more about their weight. People who are obese can also suffer from heart issues in the future along with other heath issues as well. My brother is obese and i worry a lot about him, hoping that he wont suffer from any exstream heath issues in the future. All in all, i think that this study helps prove how important being healthy.

There are many current events happennig around the world. For my current event I would like to talk about how heart disease will kill around 400,000 Americans this year. A study by British scientists found that around half of those deaths could be prevented if people quit smoking and ate healthier. "Although (heart disease) death rates have been falling in the United States for four decades, they are now leveling off in young men and women," Simon Capewell of the University of Liverpool wrote in a study in the World Health Organization's weekly journal. They found that almost 200,000 lives could be saved if certain heart risk factors were cut, even modestly. This event affects my comminity and myself. Heart disease is a leading killer for many women, and this concerns me. I already have heart issues, and if heart disease is increasing in more and mroe people, this could greatly affect my health. Also, I know many people in my community who have heart disease. I see how bad heart disease is, and I wouldn't want anyone getting affected by it. It is important that we find a way to cure heart disease soon, or more and more people will die from it.

I am going to do my current event on the seriousness of cutting. One teenage girl cuts herself after her piano lessons to avoid the pressure of being perfect. Another young girl cuts because she is anxious. Even though cutting the skin w/sharp objects is the most common method, other ways of self-injury is burning, overdosing, drowning, and shooting. I believe this to be a very urgent public health issue because so many young adults die from this or become serously injured. Funding for research and treatment for this behavioral disorder is well behind that of other disordrs. Scientists are not sure of the reason why the rates of self-injury are increasing, or how to stop the trend. We owe it to our society to take this seriously and make the seriousness of the disorder known. Studies at high schools and universities have shown that 20percent of indivduals self injure at least once. My sister had a friend that self-injured herself and it was sad to see. I hope that this disorder gets the attention it deserves and people take this disease more seriously.

This week, I found an article about cancer on a Vieques, a Puerto Rican island. It focuses on a mom with 2 daughters that have cancer and a little bit about their story. But, its not just them. THere is a ton of people on the island that have cancer, are very sick, or have died from cancer. Doctors believe that it is from the Navy testing bombs on that island and that the people are getting sick from it. There is a potential lawsuit against the US for this because there is a ton of evidence to show that this is what is causing illness and death. I think this is so sad and is very unfortunate for the people living there. That would be very scary and sad to see so many people dying around you. This goes to show how dangerous atomic weapons are and how it can affect people and cause great damage. Personally, I don't like it at all. I don't think that we should have developed them in the first place and that there would be a lot less hurt and cancer in the world if there was no bombs. Radiation is a very dangerous thing.

Through our many car companies in our world today, there has currently been many rises and losses in sales. Lately people have known all the foreign companys fo making many sales, but recently many have fallen. On the other ends of things, our american companys whom have been ina slump have seem to been capatalizing on these foreign losses. Just in janurary, Toyota's car sales fell 16 percent , a month they recalled millions of vehicles and halted sales of several models. Due to the weekening of the company, most other automakers reported higher sales, a sign they may be benefiting from Toyota's woes. One example of teh benifits are General Motors Co. sales rising 14 percent due to higher fleet and crossover vehicle sales.
Personally i want nothing more than to see all foreign companies go down hill and crash. I am a very strong supporter and believer of the american workers and feel not one of them shall loose their jobs due to free trade and what ever else the case may be.

For my current event i would like to talk about 9/11. Senators are decidng that they want to push back the trials for accused 9/11 accomplices. They are saying that the five accomplices hould be tried in a military court. However, President Obama feels that they should be tried in a Criminal Court, rather than be tried in a Military Court. Obama is thinking that he is going to move the trial out of New York City. The court also felt that the accomplices should have a civilian trial. It will give them a chance to be humiliated in public in front of all citizens. I feel that no matter what the verdict is, these men should be severely punished. No one will forget what happened September 11th, 2001.

In todays society violence is everywhere. On December 21st there was an incident where Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Areanas brought a gun into the teams locker room during a game. After a tough loss he got into a heated argument with a teammate Javaris Crittenton and pulled a gun on him. It was an unloaded pistol but still a very serious situation. On January 14th he was charged with felony gun possesion, He agreed to a plea agreement and the sentance date has not yet been set. I personally think that he is doing the right thing and turning himself in because he is showing that he isnt above the law and he is saying that he's only human, he makes mistakes. I wish every other sports athlete that gets in trouble with the law can be like this. Normally i will turn on sportscenter and see the headline everyday for 2 weeks about a player who got in trouble and is not cooperating. To be honest i have only seen one headline about the gun possesion and thats it. Pro athletes arn't above the law, no one is.

In current news, a group of music stars has formed together to form a music band in hope of supplying millions of dollars for Haiti. This group is "We are the World". Some of the music artists are:Lionel Richie, Tonny bennet, barbara streisand. Now all these artists and more are planning on making albums where all of the procedes go to Haiti. They way this affects us as kids is that we love to listen to music, so why not buy some music we like that will benefit people in need. So why not go out and buy this CD to support the people of Haiti. And the very overated, rediculous, stupid, ugly, pubescent Justin beiber will be performing, so dont go out and buy his crappy cds if you know whats good for you.

On Febuary 12, 2009 a Continental Connection flight crashed killing 50 people. This is obviously not a current event but the updates that have been made in the case are. They recently discovered that the pilot is most likely to blame for the crash. They said that he reacted to the warning with "panic and confusion" then pulled the control pannel up instead of down dooming the crash. This made me think of how i would respond in such a situation. Although im sure he was trained in what to do if something of that nature were to happen, i still think i would have panicked had i been in his shoes. Every tragic situation people hear about they say "I would have..." followed by some heroic plan of action. However, if people were really placed in that situation would they be that brave? you can hope, but the truth is that when death is staring you in the face, the smartest most logical plan isnt always the one chosen. I think the people accusing this pilot should take that into consideration. Although, he was trained, all the training in the world cant fully prepare you for the feelings youll encounter when the real situation unfolds.

Today for my current event i chose to do Two daughters with cancer: Is the U.S. to blame? The Rosas live on Vieques, an American island off Puerto Rico. For nearly 60 years, the U.S. military used much of the island as a bombing range, dropping vast quantities of live bombs and missiles in weapons tests. Now, about three-quarters of the island's residents, including Coral and her 14-year-old sister Inna, are part of a lawsuit that claims the bombing range made them sick. As a toddler, Coral was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a cancer that afflicts younger children. Her mother says much of Coral's stomach and intestines had to be replaced as a result of the cancer. And doctors found a large tumor in Inna's mouth when she was 7. Inna was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a bone cancer. John Eaves Jr., who represents Coral, Inna and other islanders in the lawsuit against the federal government, told CNN, "There is suffering throughout this island." I chose this current becuase it effects the world. If this happened to those two girls, then it could happen to many more children. Its scary that weapons of the U.S could cause cancer.

Tuesday NYPD arrested Daniel Ignacio because he was wanted for five murders after he commited arson. Daniel had been drinking all day and decieded to start a fire in the first floor stairwell. After a wile he felt remorse and tried to save people from the burning building. Police say he had no reason for the burning but only for his ammusement. I think this is a bit wierd. 5 people that were all immigrants died from that fire. I think it's hard to believe he had no reason for setting the fire. This tells you how screwed up people are. Some random guy gets bored and thinks it's fun to start fires in buildings. I hope he gets the biggest sentence possible.

In todays current event i would like to talk about the recall on Toyota. The recall on the new Toyotas are being fixed for their gas pedals. This recall is making the gas pedals inject less fuel to make it more of a fuel efficient car. Today Toyota recalled 2.3 million cars in the United States and as many as 1.8 million in Europe. The recall involves eight models, several of which are not sold in the United States. I think that cars are a big part of our economy today. Thats why i think that the recall is a good for the environment and for the economy. The price for the cars are affordable and the cars are also pretty sweet. Especially the new 2010 Highlander its boss.

Doctors have found that fish oil can cut the rate of psychotic illnesses. Along with being healthy for the heart, the omega-3 in fish oil has been found to be beneficial to the mind. I think that it is great that scientist found a natural way to prevent these illnesses instead of antipsychotic drugs. Antipsychotic drugs are very potent and have serious side affects. Instead of adding to the problem these patients have, the fish oil does not have any side affects. It is amazing what medicine we can find in natural substances. This may not affect us personally, but you may know someone with a mental disorder, and can know that they can be helped without the use of drugs, which can be more harmful than helpful. Also, this medical discovery can lead to others, which may need in the future. Any medical advancement is a big step to finding another cure.

For my current event I am going to do it on the detained Americans in Haiti. Ten Americans were accused of illegally trying to take 33 children out of Haiti. Court officials said that there will be a list of charges drawn up to repremand that Americans. The missionaries who were taking the kids say that they were only trying to help the children. They wanted them to be safe and out of the earthquake-stricken country. The prime minister of Haiti took this the wrong way and saw it as the missionaries were trying to kidnap the children. Charges will be determined at the trial, so the missionaries still do not no what their consiquences will be. I do not think that what the missionaries were doing was wrong, but they should have gotten proper comfermation that is was okay if they took the kids to America to live a safer life.

For my current event I chose to write about how Iran plans on executing nine more protesters. They are executing them because they are involved in the post-election riots. I chose to write about this beause it remindd me of the book Persepolis. It reminded me of how the people of Iran in Persepolis were executed by protesting like what is going on today. Its suprising that what happened over 20 years ago is still the reason over the revolts today. Just like in 1982 the government is blaiming the reformists for the violience. The reason for the revolts is over the politicians that were selected to race in the campaign. Iran said that they are executing the protesters because they are trying to topple the Islam regign.

If the average person were told that there is a cat out there who can predict death, they would most likely think that is crazy. In reality, that is the truth. Oscar, who some portray as "a furry grim reaper or four-legged angel of death," has that unique ability. He is harmless and isn't as creepy as he seems. Oscar was adopted as a kitten from an animal shelter and grew up as a therepy cat at a nursing center in Providence, Rhode Island. So far, he has accurately predicted about 50 deaths. There is no scientisfic evidence to explain his abilities, but they think that the cat might be responding to a smell that humans don't recongnize. Everyday unique things happen in the world that cannot be explained, but it could be the start of something new. Things like this could help save lives a create a more understanding future.

im doing my current event on a man named Abraham Shakespeare. After winning the lottery his body went missing for 9 months and they just recently found the body. It was barried in one of his friends yards under a concrete slab but no arrests have been made yet. I chose this because if i ever won the lottery i wouldn't want to have the fear of people killing me for my money. I think that the people who killed him were pethetic. It shows how desperate people are these days, that they are willing to go to any length just to get money. This man actually regreting winning the money because so many people bothered him about it. I think that what happened to this man is sad and should have never happened.

A lot of things have changed. They way people spend their money and such. Some reforms didn't work, but I think it would probably be for the best. We as a country cannot keep living like this. this article continues to talk about the problems goiing
on in Haiti still. As many countries have contributed, it shows not to be enough. First reports came in of some group trying to hijack a food convoy with gunfire. I think down on this occurance. As this is a horrible disaster, they should be more than greatful. I feel that we are doing these people a great deal and this now shows they don't accept it. As the leader of this movement, I would remove all help there if casualties occur. I think that if they need
to kill the people that are helping them, they don't need help and can get out of this mess themselves. Yet, maybe this is a sign to find a new way to distribute
food around this country quicker and easier. This just
upsets me because they could all be easily
starving, and we are there helping then out, but they don't respect it. I shouldn't say they, but some.

I hope it does get an Oscar because I know I'm not the only person that thought it was awesome. If it doesn't get at least one Oscar I'm guna be pissed because it's one of the best movies I've seen lately. It deserves an Oscar or two.

For my current event, I'm going to talk about texting. Texting today is so common amoung all ages, but mostly to us teenagers. A very high percentage of people have texting and use it frequently. We never think about the profit companies are making from it though. We pay as much as 10 dollars a month for unlimited texting. The price for the companies to send the texts is about one third of a cent to deliver. That is a ridiculous amount of profit the companies are gaining for a tiny piece of data. This effects me because I use texting. It could be more affordable and still make money for the supplier.

Today I read an artical about two middle school students age 12 and 13. One was male and one was female. The younger male was caught sending nude pictures of himself to the female. I think that this is an issue that parents should talk to their kid about because, txting becoming more and more popular these days and its easy for things to get around. Having pictures like this out in the open can ruin your reputation, even if you are just sending it to a firend. You never know what they might do with photos like that. The two kids are being charged with possession of child pornography. The Pew Research Center has recently reported that 15 percent of teens 12 to 17 years of age have received sexually explicit images on their cell phones from someone they know.
I think that this is a very important issue that every teen should be aware of.

Today a study had shown that U.S. car manufacturers sales are increasing and that foreign car sales are decreasing. This is great news for the U.S. and Michigan. The big three auto makers are located here in Michigan and with their sales increasing that means more money for Michigan. As we all can remember there were many layoffs and jobs lost in the auto industry in the past few years. With sales increasing this gives the potential for those people to get their jobs back. If we can get those jobs back than that means that people will have more money to spend and our economy could get back on track. It is nice to see that more people are helping out America and buying American made cars rather than Foreign cars that do nothing but put a drain in our economy and our society. This is great news for us and with hame sales increasing and unemployment rate improving things are really starting to look up for Michigan. Lets all hope it keeps up so we can all have a more promising future.

for my current event i am going to write about the recent recall for 8 toyota models. there have been cases where toyota vehichles suddenly accelerate on their own. Originally toyota blamed this on the floor matts and the gas pedal being stuck behind them. when it was apparent that it was not the floor mats toyota recalled their vehicles. they are now saying that the problem is fixable, that they are going to shorten the gas pedal or use a different pedal. this makes me soooooo angry!!! toyota has yet to even say what the real problem is i feel like they have been avoiding this for as long as they can and are now just coming up with a simple fix. i currently have a toyota that is being recalled. i dont feel safe drring in it anymore, the main reason my parents bought this car for me was because of the saftey feauture. what really makes me angry that is if i try to return the vehicle i'm not going to get all of my money back. when childrens toys are reacalled for lead in them, you dont take it back to the store to get it fixed, you get your money back. toyota sold me a car with a hidden danger that i have to continue to drive because of their mistake!

Prejudices against gays have been present for many years in the history of the people of the world. Many people are attempting to end this discrimination. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff told the Senate that he supports the "Don't ask don't tell" policy which bans gays from serving in the military. This policy was passes under the Bill Clinton administration. President Obama has promised to act to abolish policies and fight for gay rights. He has been critized by gay rights groups because he is not acting quickly enough to improve the conditions of the discrimination. I think that this event is very important to our lives as Americans. It just goes to show that not all Americans have equal rights. It's sad to think about it and some of us don't realize it. With more and more people in support of gay rights we are fighting for equality for all in all aspects of society. Reading about this event has motivated me to support gay rights fully. I personally have some gay friends and I treat them as equals. To learn that some are not saddens me. I want to fight for gay rights for all.

The group of ten men and ten women from America and two Haitians had tried to take the kids into the Dominican Republic where they were supposedly going to establish an "orphanage". Officials think that these people had just picked the kids off and tried to kidnap them. The person who is overlooking the childrens' safety now said that when they found the kids with the "missionaries", they were poorly dressed, dehydrated, and in need of medical assisstance. And the parents of the children started claiming after the kids were found. I think that the people had taken the kids when the parents were busy or something. I thought that Americans were supposedly caring and all that good stuff. But here is a group of people that have to go and try to take advantage of people in crisis.

NASA said that they will shoot off more space shuttles, but it wont be anytime soon. I just feel like space exploration is a big thing and people should get a chance to be apart of it, if they want to. The U.S. needs to develop cyber-security to keep from important information being accessed. I never really thought about more terrorist attacks becuase nothing so far has been comparable to 911. Today I read, "Pilot error caused 2009 crash near Buffalo, NTSB rules." The pilots were blamed when 50 people were killed due to the plane crash. The pilot made the mistake of pulling on the plane's control column instead of pushing like trained to do. This simple mistake resulted in many lives taken. It's so scary to think that something as simple as pulling instead of pushing can result in such a tragedy. They are now saying that there are many problems that need to be fixed, such as: airlines that do not adequately train pilots to handle stalls, record-keeping systems that allow pilots to conceal failed tests, and pilot fatigue. I believe airlines must fix all of these problems and maybe laws should be passed to reduce a pilots flight time. This affects me because I'm now going to think twice of boarding an airplane and if these problems are still continuing then it puts us all in harms way. Pilots should have practiced emergency proceedures so much that it's second nature to them. I'm confused why airlines allow these problems to happen.

On Monday, America's last surviving World War I veteran turned 109 at his home in West Virginia. His name is Frank Woodruff Buckles. He has become such an iconic figure that he is having a movie made about him that is set to release in 2011 or 2012. This is a pretty remarkable feat considering his age and I think he should be recognized by many, which is why I am doing my current even on him. He says he hopes to have many more birthdays to come, and I hope he does. This guy is exactly the type of person we honor when we visit the memorials in Washington D.C. I think that we need to spend more time to honor these people who served our country and made it great. Obviously this guys days are limited, so we need to make it count while we can. AFter all, he is the last one left in America from WWI. Overall, in my opinion, I think people need to show more respect for these people.

A couple of people in Kansas were caught today on camera stealing a donation can (Red Cross branded) that was supposed to go to help people in Haiti. They did not care about this, and took the money for themselves. It's funny that they did it in plain sight. There were numerous people standing around, and more importantly, a security camera aimed right at them. They didn't even make an attempt to be "covert." I figure that their stupidity and ignorance will at one time come back to "haunt them." I really hope that they are caught, and will have to pay up for what they did. This is important to us because there is a really big campaign to help get Haiti back on its feet. Donations from everywhere can help.

Today for I will be talking about Bill Gates making a generous donation to help countries in need of vaccines. Bill and Melinda Gates will be donating $10 billion to research new vaccines. He will be donating all this money over the next decade. All of these vaccines will be going to the world’s poorest countries. The government says that this will produce higher immunization rates. It will also make sure that around 90% of children will be immunized against killer diseases. The summery said that this donation can save up to 7.6 million kids under the age of 5 through the year 2019. This donation will also make a big impact on our earth. It will provide people all around the earth with better health. Overall I fully support Bill and Melinda Gates for donating $10 billion to research in vaccines.

Intelligence chiefs are reporting that another terrorist is "certain" to happen within the next few months, in the United States. The heads of the FBI, CIA, and other agencies are sure that Al Qaeda will be responsible. Al Qaeda is still the biggest concern for the US, they wanted to make that clear. They are worrying that Al Qaeda is making there plots more difficult to detect and will succeed in there attack. The government is still watching for the possibility of a cyber attack, which is unlikely, but you never know. This is very unsettling to know how fast terrorist attacks are starting to pop up, first the few atempted around christmas and now they say there are possible ones in the near future.

After President Obama has spoke about his budget cuts many NASA employees ask themselves will they ever return to the moon. If his proposal goes through it will eliminate government aid to NASA's Constellation project. A project made to send astronauts into space by 2020. NASA says if there budget is cut they will send spacecraft's paid by private space groups to send to the moon. However they also say they will not be going to the moon anytime soon. I personally agree with Obama's decision to cut the budget towards NASA. I feel we should be more worried about what is happening here on earth especially in the United States rather than in outer space. I think that exploring space is important but should be delt with when the United States economy is in better condition. Thus far scientist have found nothing useful on the moon. If there was a chance of finding living live that could potentially make more sense to retrieve it. Although i think it is right to cut this budget many scientist and space followers feel it is still necessary to explore outside of are world.

Lawyers are arguing over patents that cover two human genes related to an increased risk of breast or ovarian cancer. A lawyer from the American Civil Liberties Union said that naturally occurring genetic sequences from the human body should not be allowed to be patented. He says that it is unconstitutional to give a private company control over an entire body of knowledge. A lawyer from the one of the companies that has these patents claimes that the patents are not to human genes themselves but to isolated DNA molecules. I agree with the guy from the ACLU. I think it is unfair to the people of our country to let only two companies to have a patent over information like this. The more people that have knowledge like this can only benefit our society. My mom went to go get a test for a gene dealing with ovarian cancer because of my grandma, and I think it would be unfair if someone missed something that could help her in the future. I think people need to stop being greedy and start sharing a little bit of knowledge, especially over big issues such as brest and ovarian cancer.

In the 2008 persidential campaign, the topic of a nuclear weapon free world has been on the top list for major authorities. The U.S. wants to get formal arms argeements with Russia and China. We are hoping to get back into good relations involving nuclear weapons. The country is in a bit of a pickle, considering how powerful nuclear weapons are. No country will want to be the first to give thiers up. Obama want to try and help move this along, but he does not think it wil happen in his lifetime. He is passing laws along the lines of nuclear testing and what not. I am just glad this topic is brought up. The world would be a much better place if nuclear weapons were not being used. I agree with Obama, that I probably won't see the world loosing nuclear weapons in my lifetime either. I am glad there is progress. Too many people feel that nuclear weapons is a security issue, in which many cases it is, but if no one had them, then it wouldn't be causeing so many problems.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/BUSINESS/02/02/toyota.recall/index.html?hpt=Sbin

The financial impact of recalling millions of vehicles for a gas pedal flaw is expected to be significant for Toyota, but the automaker thinks it made the right call in announcing the pullback before it had a fix in place, an executive said Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, Executive Vic e President Shinichi Sasaki also said electronic problems in the cars were not responsible for the defect in the gas pedals, as some have alleged. Sasaki said a recall usually results in a 20 percent drop in sales in the first month before purchases pick back up again. Toyota recalled 2.3 million cars in the United States and as many as 1.8 million in Europe. Toyota announced its recall on Friday, saying that the pedals in several models might become harder to press and slower to return when released. In the worst cases, they might become stuck in a partly depressed position. On Monday, Toyota said it had developed a fix and is shipping the new parts to dealers. The company risked confusing customers by announcing the recall before a fix, Sasaki said. The fix involves reinforcing the pedal assembly in a way that eliminates the excess friction that has caused the pedals to stick, the company said in a news release. Toyota will begin contacting customers as early as this week to let them know when to bring in their vehicles for the fix. The automaker said it will cover all costs related to the repair.

Obviously this affects all of us if cars start randomly accelerating. But this is not the first time this has ever happened in the history of cars. My father, who you know use to work for Chrysler, told me about how Toyota is doing a good job of PR in light of NHTSA rules and the laws involved. Toyota announced that they were voluntary stop selling and producing effected vehicles. NHTSA request they take this action of they would get a court order. Now they state they will cover all cost of repairs. Toyota is only saying it to make the customers feel like they really care, but it is the law that they cover the cost of repairs.

For my current event I am going to tell the horrid news that one wife was forced to hear about her husband. In dearborn, michgan, October 28, Luqman Ameen Abdullah, a U.S. citizen, was killed during an FBI raid of a warehouse. The FBI agents said that Abdullah was resisting arrest when he fired a gun. His widow, later got the autopsy results to find out that Luqman was shot 20 times. She was in such shock that she almost fainted, stating that she "couldnt sleep" or "couldnt eat." This is just sad to hear about because this poor woman finds out that not only her husband was shot to death, but his body was basically mutilated by the FBI. He was shot 20 times, as if one bullet isnt enough to kill someone. Im sure that Luqman was outnumbered in the first place, and all they had to do was react when he resisted with one shot. 20 bullets into his body seems a little excessive, but then again this argument could go the other way. The FBI might say that they were just doing what they were taught and being safe rather than sorry. So i guess this is up for discussion? To me, this kind of shows that the government might be getting a little bit too cocky in a sense, thinking that they have complete control over us and everything we do. They might be getting a little too powerful.

For my current event, I am going to discuss something that may surprise you. Scientests and researchers now believe that the Omega 3 and fatty oils found in Fish oil may help reduce the risk of people developing schizophrenia. This could be a medical break through. This is because the drugs that doctors are using to treat people developing/suffering with the mental illness, are dangerous and risky. They believe that it is more effective in people of younger ages yet this will still bring relief to hundreds of people who are forced to live in fear of schizophrenia. Now this may not relate to closely to me, because i am fortunately not forced to live with a mental disorder, but the fact that scientests and researchers are finding different alternatives to illnesses is an amazing concept. Fish oil is a much safer, more natural and less expensive alternative to the powerful drugs that are usually used to treat these people. Hopefully this will spark further research that may lead to even more natural remedies for illnesses.

Today i will current event about education in New orleans. It has been said that their education has not always been good. The schools were not very safe and they didnt have a lot of money. The chief of education stated that he was glad that hurricane katrina happened because it improved their schools. He said it gave them more funding and provided better situations. Also he said it gave them brand new school buildings. I think his comments were stupid because katrina was a tradegy and should not be reffered to as a "good thing". Alos, it makes me think how lucky we are to have good schools.Their isnt always a lot of money but it could be a lot worse.
