For to night i will be wrighting about the bombing and attacks on Gaza. I think it is sad that Isreal is attacking Gaza because of the up comming elections. Isreal is killing alot of innocient people that have nothing to do with the war. To day a man was killeed in Gaza by an attack from Jerusalem. The target was a United Nations school, and 30 people were killde. Among thoes who were killd; men, women and children. Dec. 27 when the campaigning began that a total of 3250 people have been killde. Among thoes killed are 550 Palestinians, including 2,500 wounded including 200 cibilians. And all of this is over land.

The current event I'm choosing is the recent power outage in Hawaii. The power failure occurred when Barack Obama and his family were on vacation there. It may not seem like a big deal to some people, but in my eyes, this could've been a threat against Obama. There are a lot of prejudice groups against Obama, and having him on a secluded island could've been a good opportunity for these groups to take action. I could only imagine what was going through Barack's mind when this happened. When I found out this happened, I kind of assumed it was a prejudice group like the KKK that caused the power outage. It's good that he made it out of Hawaii, but this was probably a very scary moment for Obama and his supporters.

the event currently going on right now is about marvin harrison. He was recently been under suspicion of shooting someone since april. They have cane to a conclusion that it was not him. But it was 100% with his own gun. So i think its kind of weird how he has no idea how someone got his gun. Anh even more weird he happend to shot the guy marvin was just recently arguing with. Just to me this seems very ironic. But marvin probaly wont get charged with anything.

President Obama planning his own version of a tax cut. What his plan is a tax payer credit aimed at middle america and some to help businesses. Congress though is uncertain that this tax cut would really work. This is imortant to me because cutting taxes could help people with their financial problems. This could help the economy a little and that is a huge good thing. If Obama can get this tax cut to work I think it will benifit for the american citizens.Obama has many great plans for his time as president that could boost our economy.

The current event that I am choosing to write about today is on President George Bush spending more money on security to protect the computer systems that run our country today. Our country is very vulnerable at this moment. Just about everything is depending on the computer and the internet now. That is exactly why Bush is giving homeland security at least $294 million to spend on protecting the federal networks from hackers. I think that it is very important.

I am doing my current even about Ronald Burris being denied a seat in the senate. He would be taking over Barrack Obomas seat. He informed reporters and tv cameras that his credentials are not in order and will not be excepted. His attorney, Timothy W. Wright III, said that there could possibly be a court challenge. His letter of appointment from Gov. Blagojevich was not co-signed by Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White and was invalid. Some of his supporters say it's because he's black but he disagrees and says it is nothing about race. I agree with him being denied. If he doesn't have the right credentials then why should he have the job.

For this evening, I am going to talk about Roland Burris and the Senate. Obama left his seat in the Senate to take his place in the presidency. After doing so, there was an open position for someone to fill. The governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, helped Burris in his attempt to fill the spot. The big deal with all of this is that Burris didnt have the right credentials to be in the Senate. Although he didnt have what was needed, he tried to go through with it anyway which ended quickly. Other members of the Senate were angered because they all had to meet the specifications for their positions and they felt the same goes for Burris.

The attack and killings in a UN school in Gaza is to say the least devistating. The shooting killed at least 30 Palestinians, tearing bodies apart and staining streets with blood. Israel's military said its shelling is the deadliest single episode since Israeli ground forces invaded Gaza Saturday. It was a response to mortar fire from within the school and said Hamas militants were using civilians as cover. The carnage, which included 55 wounded, added to a surging civilian toll and drew mounting international pressure for Israel to end the offensive against Hamas.
President-elect Barack Obama broke his silence on the crisis Tuesday saying, "the loss of civilian life in Gaza and in Israel is a source of deep concern for me." I personally hope that these two countries can resolve things, for the sake of the people who have already died because of their fued. This article is important to me because since the united nations is so upset it could turn into an outrage and effect places all over the world, including America, which we live. Another reason this is important to me because if more laws arent being passed to prevent school shootings to happen, then other schools in the united states might be also in danger. I have deep concern and passion for the innocent victoms that play a part in the fued with these two countries.

the current event i will focus on, centers around our next presidents poor decisions for his cabinet. sure, you may call me a racist, i am not, you may think george bush is bad, but he is only one man, but Barack Obama's poor choices for the leaders of the nation are poor, ill advised, and not thought out. he chose leon panetta, a long time "power broker" in washington dc, who knows nothing about running the world's best spy agency. many are saying he lacks the ability of former cia heads, as well as the much needed expirence.
another poor decision came when he chose the now governor of new mexico, Bill Richardson. richardson, who was nominated for the commerce secretary, withdrew after he had been questioned about corrupt behavior. it is believed that obama nominated him to pay him back for some political favor. obviously not the sign of an honest president to be.

The article I picked is about airline fires 9 overweight crew members. 9 flight attendents in India did not meet the weight standards of the airlines and they were all fired. The crew members had been given time to lose weight but didnt. India had laws aimed to protect people against discrimination but no specific laws against weight. I think the firing 9 crew members because of weight is not fair. They could be better at the job than somebody else but becuase they are overweight they lose their jobs. This makes them not be able to support themselves and their families.

The current event I'm choosing is baseball players and banned substances. Phillies reliever J.C. Romero and Yankees minor league pitcher Sergio Mitre were suspended for the first 50 games of next season after testing positive for a banned substance. The suspensions were announced Tuesday by Major League Baseball. He contends the supplement he took during the season was legal because he bought it over the counter at a nutrition store in the United States. Why do players always have to take steriods or other things. I guess they take them to get better and they want to be the best. But no matter how many steroids they take there will always be someone that is better than you.
Tonight i am writing about Christine Beatty going to jail. I personally think she should have gone to jail a long time ago. I think she should have gone when the mayor did. My reason for that is because she was part of the reason that the mayor even went to jail. They should have had her court case right after the mayors. Beatty is going to jail for obstruction of justice. She can't attend law school for 5 years while on probation. To top that all off she has to pay $100,000 to the city. I know if i was to embarrass myself like her and the mayor did i would never attend law school again.
I'm going to talk about a recent police shooting that happened in the San Francisco Bay area of California on New Year's day. On Thursday, and unarmed man named Oscar Grant was fatally shot in the back for reasons that were very obscured at the time. Thankfully, according to the article, Grant did not die.
The article explains that Grant and his buddies had been celebrating New Year's and were on their way home until the police had stopped them and pulled them from the train car that they were in on the subway. The cops had gotten out their tasers, at which point Grant had asked them not to tase him because he has a very sick four year old daughter. Upon finishing his plea, one of the two cops pushed Grant's face to the ground and kneeled on his back while the other took out his gun and shot the man in the back, piercing his lungs. Hours later, Grant's sick daughter passed away and he was not there to be with her because the overaggressive cops shot him. This article hits home with me, as I know someone who's son died at a very young age and they were not there to be with him in his final hours because they were in jail and were to be released later that day. Grant's story is a very sad one, and I hope he reaches a full recovery very shortly.

With our eceonomy being at one of our lowest points in history right now, we all strive for some recovery plan to come into place. Almost everyone in the United States has been affected in some way from this recession. With Obama taking his plae in office in a few weeks, he is putting the economy at the top of his agenda. This past monday Obama met with congressional leaders and his economic team to come up with a recovery program. It's good to know we ae finally going to have a preseident in office that actaully cares about the people. Obama stated that "The peoples business's cannot wait"-Obama, and I really have high hopes that he is going to get us out of this mess that Bush got us into. Much of the recovery program involves a $300 billion tax cut to help get this economy stable again. Obama plans to really keep a strict and more balanced approach to out countries spending, which is the complete opposite of the Republican party which had an open checkbook approach to spending. With Obama's such high hopes for our economy in the near future, it is really putting the sparkle back into families in our country knowing that the future of our families are in such intelligent and caring hands like Obama's.

My current event was about Al Qaeda message blaming Obama. The speaker is Ayman al-Zawahiri,who is saying that one part of a series of a crusade war against Islam and these air strikes are a gift from Obama before he takes office. He is very aganist Obama and everything he beilives in. It sounds like to me we are being blamed, but i thought we had no part in this yet. Obama did comment on saying the lives lost in Gaza and Israel, he was deeply concerned. He even says this topic will be up in important issues to come. I believe this is important because to me, alot has been happening in Gaza. So much lately and it seems isane. I also wanna know more about Obama's take on this but has really yet to commet.

Let's talk about something that truly irks me more than anything else; Illinois Senator Rod Blagojevich. I find it completely ironic that after a slew of corrupt politicians, that the people of this country suddenly believe that just because Blagojevich "gets things done" that there won't be any corruption. This is the epitome of naïveté. Something that does worry me however, is that the government was actively wire-tapping his phone line. That's something that has been conveniently not questioned in his hearing. However, I digress. The newest twist to the story is the fact that he may have collaborated with Senate Majority Leader Reid may have been complicit in his wish to sell of Obama's seat. As I said, while not knocking the Democrats, I still find it funny that people think that corruption can never happen here. Just because it's the United States, doesn't mean that our politicians don't have their own ends to achieve.

A current event that bothers me is that veteran's with PTSD from combat related causes cannot recieve the purple heart. It says that these veterans cannot recieve it because the wound has to be a bodily injury caused by an outside force or agent. But, this dosent make much sence to me because isnt psychological warfare still a type of fighting? I agree in the aspect that veterans that get it from shooting people or seeing dead bodies should not qualify. I do think that if you get from being kidnapped and tortured yet not wounded badily enough to need medical help that you should be qualified for it. There are many similar cases where i feel that this exception should be made. I do feel that there is hope because the leaders of the board have left a window open for this to happen in the future.

The current event im going to talk about is Isreals current conflict. Isreal starting to attack the Gaza strip because of missles that were sent flying into their country. The most recent news on this conflict is the Israeli bombing of a U.N. school holding hundreds of people, thirty died. The Hamas militants are the main cause of this violence. The Israelis say that they used the school to shelter themselves to use their mortars. They claimed to be at the school to use the civilians as cover. I think that the hamas people were foolish to start all of this nonsense. They could have had a better time negotiating with Israel then trying to start a war with them. As Israel is taking some drastic measures i think that it is needed. Israel has been picked on for many years now and should not have to put up with it.

My current event would be the rise in gas prices. The price for crude has now risen back up to $50 dollars a barol. OPAC has anounced that it will plan to cut one of its biggest production drops in the history of the company. At this time it appears $4 prices may not be far away if they continuing cutting production by the millions. Gas prices did go down due to falling sales in gasoline as the economy was failing around the world. Therfor OPAC had a surplus of gas and the price went down now they are trying to stop having a surplus therfor allowing the price to rise again. Irans economy relies soley on oil sales and if sales are below $2 a gallon then the country losses money and their economy fails. Many people around the world have enjoyed lower prices at the pump my self included but even though the price is low OPAC is not selling more gasoline. Higher prices however have the same effect except with higher prices people cant aford to buy as much gas.

ok, so everyone to will read is going to think ima tard for writing about this but ill give it a shot.
This month a new best selling game was announced beating former top selling franchise Mario. It was beaten by a game called wii sports and the game has sold 40.24 million units compared to super Mario worlds 40 mill. Your probably wondering why this is a big deal. I'm a hardcore gamer if that's what you like to call it and this concerns me big time. The only reason is beacuse this game insent a real game. It just comes with a real controller and that's bull. It's like giving out a cheap new controller and a shitty game. I'm just mad a real game isent the best selling. What is that saying? That something is only the best when it has perks? It should not be even considered a real game. Me being big in games this concerns me allot.
