Day 21

Good job to those who did presentations today. I remind all the rest that tomorrow is the only other day I am going to do these presentations so you must be prepared for all sections even if one of the people are not in attendance.

Please respond to the following:

Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.

Personally I'm not sure if i know what Miriam is referring to considering i have never "traveled". What i think he is trying to say is to be out of your "comfort zone" ( own country) opens your eyes up to bigger and better things. I would just love to go to Italy or even just Canada. I also think what hes trying to say is no one lives life the same way, from country to country everyones beliefs are different and that might be special to experience, showing people what your living life is about and how they live also.

( sorry i haven't been writing very much, i haven't really been able to relate to the bloggs you are posting)

I think this is a pretty interesting quote. I believe you can gain a lot of knowledge from traveling. You get to see how other people live their lives. I know that when i went to Florida, I noticed a different lifestyle. Their different lifestyle is something I'll never forget. Sometimes it's hard to adjust to a different lifestyle in a foreign place. I think this is what makes it so unforgettable.

I am not really understanding what he is talking about. When he says deep and permanent im not really sure what he is going at. But if i had to guess i think it might mean the you will never forget when you went traveling. When i go traveling the experience last a life time i never forget it. And when he says the ideas of living i think he is meaning like it is much different then normal living and going to your house everyday. It is being able to be different and do different things. So that is honestly what i think of then quote.

i think the quote is quite simply saying, travel isnt about what you do, but why you do it, and how it affects you. anyone can go somewhere, but what you come back with is what matters. similar to the quote "life is not about the destination, but the journey." it tells of how expirence can make you a better person. it matters what you do in life, and not how your life is when it ends. and it matters how you see yourself, as long as you are happy, that is the best you can do.

when anybody goes to a foreign country they will notice differences. The way people live would be altered in some way other than what their used to. Each country has its own "personality" meaning that they all are very unique in all aspects. When you travel, sometimes what you see can seem barbaric nd ruthless.(Caution may not be for weak stomachs!) Some countries deep fry cats while they are still alive and peel their fur off. Then after that they place them burnt and still alive into a pool of water for them to drown. Freightening stuff if you ask me!! @%@

I believe that you can learn alot from traveling. You get to see how other governments work. I noticed when I was in Mexico that many of the people working at our hotel traveled to and from work with five to ten other guys in the back of a pick-up truck. Illegal in the US; but not in Mexico. You can see other religions while you are in different countries. In many countries, you go home for a few hours doing the day to take a siesta. That is different. Besides, of course you can taste some different foods and if you like some, even cook those foods when you get home! You can learn a lot from traveling to different countries!

This is quote was a good one and is easy to resond. What it means is that traveling is not seeing things it is seeing changes in living. People go to other places to see change in other places in the world. People also go places to learn things of different places as well. Sometimes change helps people learn new things so people could go to other places to learn these things. There is change in the ideas of living all the time so people see new things every time. This quote explains what happens every day.

This quote relates to going out in the world and doing something. Life is short and should be treated like every day was your last. I think she is trying to say that you do learn alot from experiences in life. If you travel to another country you learn how they live. It is interseting to see how much we take for advantage. Sometimes traveling can be a life lesson, from seeing how other people live. I have personaly never been much out of the country, but it would be a really interseting experience.

I think this quote means that theres more to traveling than seeing the sights. Its what you pick up from diffrent places. When you travel its diffrent from your town in one way or another. When I go to florida, I feel that it is a pretty chill place. I want to move there because it seems alot calmer than other places I have been to.
Every place that you travel to is diffrent and you should notice that. I believe that when you travel your mind is altered a little bit about the world. ?

i agree with this saying. i think that when we travel we learn things about other people and there life style. when i went to Florida i lived the life of people that always dress for worme wether, and in key wess where i went people ate fish dayley. where when people come to Michigan you dont know how to dress because of the different wether constantly. i think that every place we travel we learn somthing, wether it be about the people from their or about the somthing els we learn somthing no matter what.

Travel can not just change your surrounding, but change who you are. Youn can go to new places and learn new things. I think its important to learn things from your enviroment. Life is a change that changes when you move and gets inside you . Bottom line i think you can learn about yourself and other things by changing your sirroundings.

Not only is this quote relatable to the obvious, traveling, but also to life in general. Miriam,to me,is saying that travel is not about what you see, yet about what you do and why you do it. The reasoning for going somewhere can often be much greater and fulfilling if intended. This quote is also relatable to life in general because he is saying that life is like a journey. It's about the change that happens in everyone's life that is deep, permanent, and meaningful that evolve the person to they are today. The longer the journey brings great wisdom and knowledege. This makes the journey more deep. It makes all the wonderful, and dreadful things that happen, form to bring the inevitable change. "everything happens for a reason" and the journey of life no doubt proves this.

Travel is indeed more than just seeing the spectacular sights that other countries have to marvel at. Traveling is also about taking in what other countries' cultures' have to offer, about accepting its peoples' values and maybe even incorporating some of them into your own life. If one travels just to see some uncanny sights, then I feel remorse for them, as they are not taking into consideration what others' perceive, believe, and interpreting it how they wish. Traveling for sights is sort of like going to a museum simply just to look at the portraits and sculptures, and sadly I think this is what many people do. When I go to a museum, I do so to gain knowledge of the past through interpretation of a piece of art. Just looking at the Mona Lisa won't leave me satisfied; of course, I will be intrigued at how well Da Vinci had created the portraiture, but I will not have gained any knowledge of the Renaissance unless I take what I see in and reflect upon it. Many people do not reflect upon what they see and interpret it, they just view it, marvel at it, and walk away. This metaphor can be applied to traveling, also.

I think the quote means that the more you travel the more you get to see how people live their lives. Some people in different states or countries live differently from us. The more you get out there by traveling the more you get to see that. Some places eat different foods we never heard of. Some places have a completely different day set up then ours. It’s a good experience to get to see what other places are like. You can learn many things by traveling.

This quote is a very true statement about travel. When you visit a place in the world you usually think about the different way of life there right? I think that this quote means that when you go somewhere its not just what you see there but it is also the kind of ideas you get while being there. Im not 100% sure if that is exactly what this meant but I at least gave it a shot.

This quote, is the embodiment of what travel should be about. It's the exploration of other cultures, and learning and changing one's perceptions of how one is supposed to live to how people do live. I find it interesting with how many cultures there are, how few we understand. Perhaps, it's not the fact that we don't have the time to understand, it's the fact that they're so different, we don't want to understand because we are afraid. Or, perhaps, if we see the lifestyle of another culture, we may see how wrong or how meaningless ours is and wonder if we should change. It gives one something to ponder, this quote does. If we all understood each other and accepted each other, what would the world be like? Would we be able to put all our efforts as human beings into something productive, like exploration, and evolve beyond what we are now into something better? One can only imagine what the possibilities are, can be, were, or will be...

to me i think that his person is trying to say that when we travel we go places that we arnt used to be in. because every place is not the exact same you will be out of your comfort zone for most of the time. this can be both a good and bad thing. this can be good because once you adapt you will come back with a larger comfort zone and willingti try more things. you will also cme back with a new perspective on things and your thoughts about things might change. this can also be a bad thing because you might not be willing to try new things because its different. this fear of trying new things will keep you ignorant of whats outside your comfort zone and you will not be prepared for the times when you are required to step out of your box.

i think that she is trying to explain what happens during travel. when she says its the change that goes on i think she is talking about going place to place, and learning different things. like if you were to go to Mexico you might learn so Spanish or if you were to go to Germany you might learn German.i also think she is talking about how much you can learn. You can learn a lot about a culture of a place by travel. you get to experience it first hand. that's what i think Miriam is trying to say.

I think that i agree with this quote. when you go on a vacaton you do see lots of sights and atractions but you also see other cultures. ideas travel with you from all over the world that change the way you live. i personally have only been to canada as another country and did not see much of the culture. by doing this i feel like i missed out on what canada has to offer.

We seem to get so caught up in our own little worlds these days, and especially in our society. That we tend to forget about the bigger things in life, and what is going on around the world. It's almost as if, when people from America travel to another country, it is as foreign to them as another planet. We see our lives as being so wonderful, and when we actually see some of the real life things that are actually going on, we are in shock. Traveling and seeing the world, can be so much more than just a vacation is what Miriam is trying to say. You will get out of it something much deeper, and something that will carry with you for a long time. Personally for me, I travel to Oregon every summer for five weeks to visit my dad and my brother, and I used to live there so I have many friends there. But going there is like going to another world, it is totally and completely different from what I am used to here in Michigan. And I experience things while I am there, that I will rememeber for the rest of my life. Not just because it was somewhere different for me to be staying and different people and places, but because I put in what I wanted to get out of my trips, and it becomes much more than travel to me, it such a growing experience, and deep changes occured, as Miriam says.
