Today we began looking at the concepts of fate, guilt and ambition as prevailing areas of life. We all have encountered thoughts of these one way or another. For this evening, comment on one of the following quotes:
“Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.”

“There are no little events in life, those we think of no consequence may be full of fate, and it is at our own risk if we neglect the acquaintances and opportunities that seem to be casually offered, and of small importance."

For my blog I would like to comment on the quote by Peter McWilliams. The quote is saying that when you do something bad you feel guilty, which makes you mad at yourself. I have felt guilt many times in my life. One example is when I lied to my parents. When I was little, I told my parents that I got a good grade on my math test, but in actuality I recieved a bad grade. I felt really guilty about not telling them the truth, and it mad me get upset and dissapointed in myself. In the end, the guilt forced me to tell my paretns the truth, and they took it suprisingly well. I learned that lying about something like a test is a bad idea and that it will only make you feel worse. Another example is when I told one of my friends that I couldn't hang out because I had to go to a family event, which was a lie. I wanted to hang out with my other friend instead, so I just lied and said I couldn't because of the family event. The next day I felt really guilty and mad at myself for being so apathetic towards my friends feelings. So I decided to tell my friend the truth. I told her I was very sorry and that I would never do anything like that again. She was a little mad at first but eventually things worked out and we forgot about the situation. In my lifetime lying made me feel really quilty and upset with myself, and I now realize that lying to cover something up is a bad decison, and wil only make you feel bad about yourself.

I am going to comment on the quote "Guilt is anger directed at ourselves." We feel guilty when we know that we have done something wrong. Guilt is a part of our conscience, and you know within yourself that you need to take responsibility for a deed that was not right. There is this inner voice telling you that you need to make right for your bad choice. Guilt eats away at you and you become angry at yourself because you know what you must do to remove this from your conscience. Being able to admit guilt allow us to live with ourselves. Trying to hide from guilt makes you angry and this is not healthy. The only way to free yourself from guilt is doing what you know is the right thing to do. Admitting guilt is the first step towards forgiveness.
I think the quote, "Guilt is anger directed at ourselves" is very true and really sums up the meaning of guilt. Guilt is the feeling you get when you do something wrong and you feel bad about it. Sometimes you get caught for it and sometimes its just something you have to carry around on your conscience. That can be the worst punishment because you never when you could get caught. And guilt can be a feeling of frustration at yourself for making a stupid mistake. There's noting you can do to make the feeling go away. I know how this is because I feel really bad about things that I do wrong and don't let myself forget it. I always think what if I had done this differently and I look back on the past. Guilt is a very powerful thing and never really goes away.
“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.” this quote means that when you feel guilty enough you regret your actions and you think "why did i do somthing so stupid?" i chose this quote because i been there and i kno exacly what im talking about. guilt is one of the worst things ive ever felt. its toture on the inside and its even worse than recieving a punishment, actully a punishment would have actully made me feel beeter about my actions
Whats interesting is that I was talking to someone earlier today about the concept of guilt and they mentioned it really being anger. I would have to agree with the quote, but I think its more than just anger. I think along with anger we feel remorse. We are angry at ourselves for whatever it was that happened, but we are also sad that it happened. There is more to guilt than meets the eye.
For my blog I want to comment on the quote by Peter McWilliams. I believe that is the most accurate definition of guilt. Guilt occurs when we do something that goes against our morals and we feel some sort of cognitive dissonance. We become disappointed and angry at ourselves for what we did. I for one have felt guilt many times in my life. An example of a time when I felt guilt is whenever I say something I don't mean to someone who is close to me. After I realize what I had said I feel absolutely terrible about it. I usually mope around until I get up the courage to apologize.
-Mike-
I would like to respond to Peter McWilliams quote. I strongly agree with his quote as it applies to life perfectly. When you feel guilty you are angry at yourself for have ever done the wrong you feel guilty about. Guilt is another way karma gets at you. It eats you away little by little for the rest of your life, or until you stop caring about it. In life, guilt can hold you back from so many good things. For example if you feel guilty for something sometimes the guilt is so great that when something amazing comes into your life you ignore and feel as if you do not deserve it.
“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.”
First off, I would have to agree 100% with this quote. As people get into trouble, it seems as if most of them immediatly dont live up to there decisions or mistakes and blame others. When one is guilty for something, it has always been known to create anger in that person because they no that they did wrong yet dont want to let out the truth. With all this anger built up, they immediatly burst and start pointing fingers and turning things around so all trouble and problems are not shown to be because of them. But what this quote is saying, is that when guilt strikes and one is pointed out for it anger builds. Though this person may want to release it on others, truth is, in reality that person's anger is just facing themselves. In life people must take responsibilty for what they have done because either way your anger is really just being out on you.

I really feel that I can relate to the quote that says, "Guilt is anger directed at ourselves." I think it absolutely true, because after you do something to feel guilty about, you really are just directing your anger back at yourself for whatever you did. When you feel remorse, there is no one you can punish but yourself, because it is in fact your fault. One time I felt guilty was when I was driving and I hit the neighbors mailbox right after I got my liscense. It was the middle of winter so it was slippery. Luckily I didn't take it down. However, I never told anybody about it, so when the talk of the town was that there is a mailbox down, I felt really bad, but I never owned upt o it. I felt horrible and angry at the same time. I feel like I should have owned up to it, or at least went and helped my neighbors put a new one back up. That would have made me feel better. Another time was when I lied about my grade on a test to my parents. I told them I did really good, but in reality I got a C+. It brought my grade down and I felt horrible for lying. I was also guilty of not studying hard enough. They eventually found out, but I still felt angry at myself. Nonetheless, sometimes I think the guilt of doing something wrong can eat you up more that any punishment you could recieve.
“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.” is a quote that cannot be anymore true. There are many different ways that people can feel guilty, mainly if its serious or not so serious. For me i remember i felt guilty for weeks after i broke my friends wrist. When i was 8 or so i was just another kid in the summertime, messing around and one day i was at my friends house jumping on his trampoline with another one of our friends and we were screwing around and i ended up pushing my friend off the trampoline and he landed on his hands and broke his wrist. I felt bad for the longest time because he plays football and he couldnt play the first couple games of the season.

I think this quote talks about fate and how everything happens for a reason. However, i think its also saying to never ignore the little things because they could mean more than you think. Kind of like dont take things for granted. I think this quote is a good thing to live by because it can be interpreted to mean many things. It tells you to take every opportunity along with the things ive already mentioned. I dont necessarily believe that everything happens for a reason but im kind of wishy washy on the topic. i guess i think bad things happen for a reason which sounds pessimmistic but is actually optimistic. When something bad happens i just think that theres a reason this is happening to me right now, something good is going to come out of this.
The quote said by peter mcwilliams is very true. When someone feels guilty, they have a feeling of remorse. Guilt is felt when someone blames themself for what happened. People tend to feel guilty when their conscience tells them what they did was wrong. Id like to think that people who feel guilty have a clouded mind. They become saddened because of what they did. A time I felt guilty was when my mom told me to go visit my grandparents. I made some bullshit excuse and told her i wasnt going. A few mintues after I felt guilty. My grandparents are my family and they love my company and I felt remorseful for not knowing better.

I chose the quote “Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.” because i believe it really is directed to us. My definition of guilt is feeling responsible for something you did that can be offensive. I believe this quote is true because theirs been many of times when i've been angry at myself for doing something wrong. I really believe that if you know what you did was wrong theirs always gonna be that voice deep down telling you that it was wrong. Its always gonna remind you that you should of never done it, even if you got away with it. Thats also why the anger is directed towards you. You get mad at yourself knowing it was wrong.
I am going to coment on the quote about guilt for my blog. When you are guilty about something it makes you feel bad. When you feel bad im sure it kind of makes you mad at yourself too. I know when i feel guilty i feel really bad which makes me angry with my self that i lied or did something. An example is like this one time i lied to my friend on a reason i couldnt hang out and i felt guilty about it. I never told the truth about it but i did feel guilty. Another example was when me adn my brother found all of our christmas presents one year. I felt guilty for it and told my mom we found them. I felt much better after telling her we did.

For this evening i would like to respond to the Peter McWiliams quote. I think that guilt is your consience telling you that you did something wrong. Guilt is a feeling deep in your stomach that you knew you did something wrong. When you feel guilty you think of every possible way you can to get out of trouble or tell a little lie to make them forget about it. Guilt is the reason that most criminals turn themselves in after doing something wrong. If people don't feel guilt they must have an inner evil. For instance people like Jeff Domar and Charles Manson have no guilty consience for the terrible things they have done to other people. It is people like them who make me think if people are born evil and fucked up or become evil through out there lives.

i dont think this quote could be any truer. that is exactly what guilt is. your angry with yourself for doing wrong. we all have felt it and we will all feel it again. you cant go though life with out feeling guilt its jsu not possible. you could feel it for a number of reasons. some we shouldn't even feel guilty but we do. its part of our nature and we cant hide it. it can be a good thing to feel guilt because then your admitting to yourself that you have done something wrong. then again its not good. for one it dosent feel good to feel guilty and sometimes we shouldn't feel it.
The quote that sticks out to me the most is "Guilt is anger directed at ourselves". I've always had a guilty concious and would feel guilty even if it was out of my control. Guilt can really tear you up inside. However, it's the people that are able to put their guilt on the back burner that you need to watch out for. Guilt may be annoying and painful, however it keeps us a good person and makes us try to fix our mistakes. Guilt happens when you did something wrong and wish you made a different decisious. The worst guilt is what you feel when you harmed another human being. We all try to become a better person and guilt helps us achieve that. It really truly is when you're angry at yourself for the things you wish you could do differently.

As a person, with a heart, i feel guilty for my wrongdoings. Never until now did i think of it as being mad at myself. It all makes sense now. Everyone does wrong things, and a time that comes to my mind about this is when i put silly puddy on the TV remote. I hid the remote for 8 months. I felt horrible, since the tv wouldnt work for 3 weeks and we had to buy a new remote. I was mad at myself because my parents told me not to stick it onto anythiong and i did. They eventually found it and i was grounded.

This quote is basically saying that we should take all that happens in our lives seriously. Things happen everyday that affect us whether we know it or not. We may make a decision and the next day or the next year regret it. To build off this quote, our actions determine our fate in my opinion. Whether we choose to cave under peer pressure and suffer the consequences later or have the courage to say no and do the right thing. The actions in peoples' lives have affected them greatly. They have shaped who they are as a person; maybe even their job, residence, and spouse. If Mr. Kay would have been caught for his crime in college think of how differnet his life would be. He may have lost all his money and dropped out of college, not getting a job as a teacher. He may have gone to prison, received a felony and would have not gotten a job as a teacher because he would have had to check that box on the application. Decisions and choices affect the outcome of your life.

“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.”
I think that this quote is very true. It makes sense that when we do something stupid we get angry with our selves. Guilt is hard to be resolved. I resolve guilt by talking about what happened. It always makes me feel better. I think that everyone experiences guilkt as some level or another during there life time. Guilt can get in the way of a person doing amazing things. It can be a great barrier in front of what your supposed to do with your life.
For my blog I choose "Guilt is anger directed at ourselves" by Peter McWilliams. I think this quote is absolutely true. When we do something wrong and we know its wrong you begin to feel bad about what you just did. Which is considered guilt, and it means a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some wrong doing. And that one thing you did wrong can just eat at you. You begin to think about what you did and how wrong it is. Which most people begin to get angry at themselves for doing it. Guilt is a way for us to be angry at ourselves. Sometimes when you get to angry at yourself for doiing what you know was wrong you have to go and fix it so you can live with yourself and move on in life.
For my blog this evening I am going to talk about the “Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.”
Peter McWilliams quote. To me this quote means that when you do something wrong guilt is like being angry at yourself. It is like a voice that is inside of you that lets you know what you did was wrong. Once you admit that you did something wrong the guilt goes away. An example when I had guilt was when I told my parents that I didn't have any homework and it turned out I had a project due in a couple of days. I felt bad about lying. I felt guilty about lying and came out and told them I had a project due. I ended up getting in a lot of trouble but I ended getting the project done a day before it was due.
The quote i chose is the one by Peter McWilliams. Guilt is the feeling of remorse you get when you do something wrong. Guilt isnt the anger you give to other people, its the anger being directed at you for doing something you shouldnt be doing. I completly agree with this quote. I think i am the most remorseful person there is. When i do something wrong, the guilt eats at me so much, that i have to tell the truth just to get it off my chest. For example, when i was eight or nine, i really liked this pair of earrings at the mall. I couldnt help myself, and decided to put them in my purse without anyone seeing. Instead of being happy that i had the earrings, my conscience was telling me that it was a bad thing, and i couldnt sleep nd felt so guilty. So i told my mom, even though i was scared out of mind. She got disappointed with me, and made me take them back to the store, and i was really emabarrased. From that day on, i have always told the truth, and never stole from a store again.
There are no little events in life, those we think of no consequence may be full of fate, and it is at our own risk if we neglect the acquaintances and opportunities that seem to be casually offered, and of small importance."

i really like this quote and relate to how Amelia feels about oppurtunities. in this quote i believe Amelia is ssaying how even the most minor things in life have a great impact. that all the things that happen to us lead us into a direction dependent on what oppurtunities present themself. so instead of staying inside and not doing many things, you may miss out on a lot of things. even something as minor as going to the grocery store, it could mean meeting a to be bestfriend, significant other or a celebrity. its impossible to know where you'll day will take you and what events you encounter, but following them through gets you to new places that lead you somewhere else. thats why i try and do what ever oppurtunities present themselves even if they have the inclination to be boring. you never know who you'll meet, or what you'll find
“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.”
Peter McWilliams
I think that this quote is very true. People tend to get angry at everything when they are being accussed of something. As the guilt builds inside we get angry and we deny deny deny. We make irrasional descisions and we dont care who we hurt. People are simple creatures and we always want to be right, when we are wrong and we know we are we will do nothing but get angry and lash out. Guilt builds with anger because of this and we want nothing more than to be right, this is how humans are. We beat ourselves up until the point were we will finally confese to our wrong doing.

for todays blog im going to respond to Peter McWilliam's quote because there are many many examples of this quote in everyday life. This quote is very true for most people because if something big happens and someone is involved in it, they might blame themself and after a while of blaming themself, that blame could turn into anger and because theyre blaming themself its directed at themself, and itll turn into guilt. An example could be someone getting into a car accident. When people get into a bad car accident, they go into shock and replay the accident over and over and over in their head, and sometimes or most of the time they start to change the story line of it up, and they make it look like it was their falt by thinking of ways they couldve avoided it. Because of the guilt and blame being directed on that person by themselve, it turns into anger because they start to blame themselve so much that it starts to become too much.
I think i will comment on the third quote. To mean it means a lot because it is the one that relates the most. I agree 100 percent with this quote for many reasons. I think that when we do something wrong we all feel guilty in some sense. When we are we guilty we usually have a bad day, and we take it out on everyone else. I think i can relate to this because when i do something im not to proud of i tend to take it out on people. I dont yell at people or anything, i think im just not as friendly. I think i can change and just keep it to myself because it is my fault.

Peter McWilliams quote stands out to me most. Guilt is what makes us hate ourselves sometimes. We make mistakes and do something stupid and we regret it eternally. This quote applies tojust about everybody on this planet. At some point in our lives we all feel guilty for doing something, and most of the time we take it out on ourselves in anger. I know there have been times where I beat myself up (emotionally) horribly for doing something I shouldn't have. I know a lot of friends that have done the same thing. Some of them have even beaten themselves up physically because of it, not anything major but maybe hitting themselves a couple times.
James Richardson
"Guilt is anger directed at ourselves."
-Peter McWilliams
I think this is a great definition of guilt. When I feel guilty about something, I beat myself up over it. It is kind of like what you were talking about today. When your parent just says, "I'm dissapointed in you," rather than blowing up and yelling at you, then you feel terrible about it. Instead of them being angry at you, you become angry at yourself. Also, I know when I do something that isn't very honorable, I can't stop thinking about it afterward. If nobody finds out, I feel good at first, but it always comes back around later. I think that's why many times people will turn themselves in for doing something. The guilt builds up and you keep beating yourself up over it until the point where you just feel like if they told someone, it would be better than having to keep it inside.
“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.”
When a person feels guilt they feel bad for something that they did. This can result in anger, which leads back to the quote. When a person feels guilty, they acutely are mad at themselves for something that they did. Whenever I feel guilty about something, I find myself mad at myself for what I did. I usually get this really unsettling feeling that reminds me of the situation I feel guilty about. Then, I get mad about the situation because I know I could have acted differently which makes me mad at myself. Lots of times, when people feel guilty, they start acting angry or upset about themselves. So, anger does result in guilt because you are mad about something you did.

When you've done something that you feel guilty about whether you got caught or not your going to be angry with yourself. We've all been in the situation where caught doing something that we shouldnt have been doing and we cant stop thinking about it. We wonder what wouldve happened if we did it differently and feel completely stupid for doing it in the first place. When your guilty you cant stop thinking about it and you start to get angry. Guilt is not something that can be avoided. And when you realize what you must do to make yourself stop being guilty you get even more angry. Weve all gotten away with something and im sure that we can all say there has been something that we felt so guilty for that we had to make things right. While everyone may not look at it the same way I think its safe to say that guilt is more of a good thing than it is a bad thing.
“Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.”
Bill Bradley
To me this qoute means that to reach your goals you need ambition. Being ambitions is what make people do what they do to reach a certain goal good or bad. I dont think that ambition is always a good thing because someone could goals that are illegal. To succeed in life you need ambition. I think that without ambition goals would never be reached. Persistence is the actions that come aong with ambition. Without persistance goals als couldnt be reached.

I agree with the quote by Peter McWilliams. Guilt is indeed anger directed at ourselves. When you do something that you regret, you honestly can't take it back. EVentually that anger you have is useless because what can it really do? It isn't going to solve the issue or make you feel any better. I think that guilt is the 2nd half of the anger within yourself stage. Once you let out the ACTUAL anger and you find that there's nothing more to do, you end up feeling bad. That bad feeling in your gut is guilt. Guilt is the remorese you feel for something that occured. You really cannot be angry with yourself for very long because then it turns into guilt.
I chose to write about the quote that states " Guilt is anger directed at ourselves". This is a really true and get to the point quote. I think it means guilt eats away at you. When you feel guilt you are not angry at others, you blame yourself. You start to question your integrity and your ability to make choices. Guilt is your mind constantly reminding you what you did wrong. This guilt tends to move towards anger. It turns to anger because you have no where else to direct this guilt. You know it's all on you and there is nothing you can do. You continue to think, why did I do that? Or if I only would of.... The quote holds very true in life.

The quote I am going to blog about is the one written by Peter McWilliams. I completely agree, 100% with this quote. Guilt is anger that is directed toward ourselves. Whenever you do something wrong and you feel bad about it, that feeling is called quilt. Guilt is when your conscience is nagging you that you shouldn't have done that. It wasn't the right thing to do. A time that I felt really quilty was when I had to lie to my friends. Last year, my friends thought that I spent to much time with Andrew, because we hung out once a week on Friday. Personally, I don't think that is a lot, but they did and they would get mad at me because they thought I was too wrapped up in my boyfriend then my friends. So on a few occasions I would hang out with Andrew on our Friday night, and my friends would text me asking what I was doing. When I responded I just told them I was home alone. I felt terrible that I had to lie to my friends to hang out with him, but they would have gotten really mad and I wanted to avoid a conflict. I didn't want it to turn into a bigger problem that it already was. For the next few days, I felt so bad, I dediced that I wasn't going to lie anymore. I told my friends that he's my boyfriend and I should be able to hang out with him whenever I want. Eventually, they backed off our back, because I was also making time for them. My point of this story is, when I was lying to my friends, I felt terrible, and I was really angry with myself. Hence the quote "Guilt is anger directed at ourselves."

For my blog i would like to comment on the quote by peter McWilliams. The quote is basically feeling that no matter what if you do something wrong you feel even the slightest amount of guilt. It is just natural. For example when i fell on my cousin and broke his leg, i felt guilty. It may have not been 100% my fault, but i didn't really think about that at the time. I just thought that since i fell on him it was all my fault. Guilt will always overcome all emotions. Everytime you are feeling something, if you are even the slightest bit guilty, that will overcome all of your other emotions.

For my blog i would like to comment on the First blog. I think that this quote is saying that you need both ambition and persistence to achive a goal. Ambition is the drive you get to complete a goal. Persistence i think is kind of like the feeling of excitment you get when you acomplish something.
I like the second quote the best. I think this quote has a an overall good message that it is trying to provide. It is saying that you should do everything to the fullest and do everything as if it were your last time. You never know when an event that you think wont effect you at all might actually have a major effect on the path of your life. This quote is obviously from a strong believer in fate. It is saying it is your choice if you choose to pass up certain friendships or opportunities because they just seem casually offered, and of small importance, but you never know what you might be missing. I would have to say that I agree with Barr on this quote. She seems to have an optimistic outlook on life. She wants to live her life to the fullest and so do I.

Guilt is a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offense, crime, or of wrongdoing. Well I don’t think that this is what guilt is. I am in agreement with Peter McWilliams, that guilt is anger directed at ourselves. The times that I have experienced guilt I was angry with myself for not doing the right thing. Even some of the times it caused me to feel ill with all the guilt. An example is when I failed a term in one of my classes. Even though my parents yelling at me was bad it was nothing compared to the anger at my self for failing that term.
The quote by Amelia E. Barr is a very interesting one. I believe that it is very true. Just imagine leaving school just seconds after that crazy baboon in the red/blue/black sports car travels (more like blazes) by going at 60 MPH. Because you left a few seconds later, you were able to think, "Damn! What an idiot. Looks like he's late for something." Then you forget about it. It might even make an interesting dinner discussion. Leaving seconds later would mean that (if you were lucky) you would be waking up in some hospital bed with your right leg tied up, forty IVs going into your arm, and you thinking, "Damn! What happened? I've got an itch on my back."
Guilt is anger directed at ourselves. I chose this quote because I think its very true. When you do something you know is wrong, you feel guilty after. Or what you did came out of anger and then you felt guilt. I think when someone is feeling guilty, there actually pissed off at themselves. Thinking, why did i do this? What was fun? If you feel guilty you obviously know you did something that wasn't right, and your just angry at yourself for doing whatever you did.
Today i want to comment on the quote “There are no little events in life, those we think of no consequence may be full of fate, and it is at our own risk if we neglect the acquaintances and opportunities that seem to be casually offered, and of small importance." by Amelia E. Barr. This quote made me think about many things. I think this quote is saying every moment in your life matters. No matter how unimportant it may seem at the time, it could come back to you. when the quote says "...if we neglect the aquaintances and opportunities that seem to be casually offered..." i think its saying that if were supposed to do something and we dont and just blow it off like its not a big deal it could end up working against you later in life. This quote is very true and makes me think that i should take small opportunities to my advantage even if they seem like not a big deal. All events are a big deal, no small events. A split second in certain situations could change your life.
“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.”- Peter McWilliams
Guilt is something that everyone feels when they know they have done something wrong. Guilt is part of our nature and we have to take responsibilty for the wrongdoing. When we are guilty of something, we try really hard not to act like we did anything. We become very aware and worry about every little thing, thinking that someone might be onto you. We become angry because after so long we cant take it anymore and the guilt starts to bother you. An example of this is was when I was younger. I broke a vase and through out the broken pieces so that I wouldnt get in trouble. A few days later my mom talked to me and said she knew what I did. With having the guilt eat away at me for a few days, I got mad when she said this and I told her what had happened. Come to find out, she was talking something nice I did at school. this was a good lesson for mme because when you're not guilty, life is easier. You dont have to cover things up and you're not always worried about people catching onto you.

For tonight I am going to comment on Bill Bradley's quote, “Ambition is the path to success, Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in”. I agree with this quote 100%. Its saying that ambition is how you get going on wanting something. Without ambition you would never really have a goal and so you need that in order to achieve something. And persistence is the thing that keeps you going. Having persistence means that you keep trying and you keep working at a goal. And so that's what it means when it says it the vehicle, its the thing that keeps you moving towards your goal.

This quote is saying not to take anything in your life for granted. You never really know for sure when something may happen because you didn't or did act upon something. You may not even realize how important the little things are inlife until one day they are gone. Letting opportunites pass and ignoreing little problems in life ultimately lead your to disaster and unhappiness. You just never know what could happen. What I have learned is that you really can't take anything or anyone for granted, especially the people you care about. When people do little, everyday things for you, you can't just take advantage of them or for granted that they will always be there. Everything in life is important, youi have to treat it like it is. There is barely any time to live as there is, you shouldn't waste anything or throw anything away in life. The quote says that opportunities seem casually offered, when in actuality they are hard to come by, the ones that really matter, the ones that most people just let slip by. You can't do that to people. You can't take that risk of loosing someone or something just because you took it for granted. Life is worth or than that, the little events are worth more than that.

“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.”

I believe this quote to be true. If you do something and feel bad about it, thats guilt. And, if you feel bad about it, it normally means you wish you wouldnt have done whatever it was. Which causes you to be angry with yourself. I guess you dont have to feel bad for doing something, but you can still feel guilty about it. But to me, the two just go hand-in-hand. You continue to feel guilty until either you get caught, or decide to be honest. That can be the worst, carrying the burden of guilt. Only you knowing you did something wrong, and the fact that the truth could be lurking around any corner to force you to be honest. Its the worst punishment, I think. Carrying that guilt burden just makes you more and more angry at yourself, too.
Sam Tedder
I do believe that guilt is anger directed at yourself. Guilt is when you get mad over somthing you have done wrong. Everyone has guilt, its your concience telling you what you did wrong. When people have guilt they tend to be angery and disipointed in themselves. Thats why i also believe that guilt is somewhat of a positive. It makes you think twice about doing somthing wrong. Guilt is built up anger directed towards ourselves.
“Guilt is anger directed at ourselves.”
I think this quote is extremely true. I beleive that no one gets away with anything. Guilt can be a punishment all on its own. I know that when i do things wrong and i "get away with it" guilt will eat at me and thats a bad enough punishment. When people are guilty its becasue they know they are wrong. Anger is a product of guilt. I dont neccacarily get angry when i do somthing wrong but i know i get a werid feeling that is worse then getting introuble. when you do something wrong guilt is anger about yourself. As i said no one gets away with anything, guilt will "eat you alive."
sorry this is late. My dad snatched up the computer last night after i got home. :)

To me, this quote is describing how we form guilt, and how it is similar to anger, which we aim at others. This means that when we do something that we know is wrong, we get angry and disapointed with ourselves, as we would if somebody else did something wrong. When someone does something they shouldnt, and that we dont like, we get upset with them, because it upsets us. However, when this happens, we arent in control of what that anger causes or how that person will cange, or fix what they did wrong. But when we do something wrong ourselves, we get frustrated with ourselves, but what makes it worse is that we know that we are the ones at fault. rather than simply watching somebody else struggle to fix it, we have to fix it ourselves. If we dont try to fix it, that anger and guilt grows, as it would if somebody else didnt try to make up for their mistakes. I believe that guilt is our was of fufiling our conscience and makeing ourselves in to better people. Its our way of forcing ourselves to do what we believe is right. And it is how we justify our anger towards ourselves and others.
“There are no little events in life, those we think of no consequence may be full of fate, and it is at our own risk if we neglect the acquaintances and opportunities that seem to be casually offered, and of small importance."
Amelia E. Barr
For my blog I'm going to talk about this quote because I feel like I connect with it more. To me it's saying that we do downsize events in life. Regular things that happen day after day are forgotten. At one moment everything could be extremely important and the next it could have no meaning at all. When it says that there are no little events in life, it means that we aren't taking the time to look at what is in front of us. Fate to some people can have a huge influence on what happens in our lives. Neglecting opportunities that rise around us is showing that we are being ignorant to life. More time should be focused on the "little" things in life because they may not really be so little.

This quote is saying that when you do something bad you get angry at yourself not others. This makes sense because why would you be mad at someone else for something you have done. Everyone has a conscience and it is almost as if it if activated when you do something wrong. When this happens the conscience turns on the guilt about the situation you put yourself in. Your guilt can eat at you for awhile unless you apologize for what you have done. Sometimes guilt can even be a worse punishment then even getting in trouble or getting in a fight about the reason you are guilty. Everyone gets guilty in their life but you can prevent it from happening.
