Day 17

Today I would like you to discuss movies. What types of movies do you like? What draws you to a certain movie? Actors, directors, music? Do you think that movies play a role in American society besides just being entertainment? Why or why not?

Personally, i like all types of movies. Comedies and Horror films re my favorites though. I like comedies because they make me laugh and can boost my mood. I like horror films becase theyre usually interesting and make me jump. I dont really have any specific actors or directors that draw me to certain movies. Music doesnt really draw me to movies either but if see a movie and like the soundtrack it might lead me to a new artist. I think movies play a huge role in AMerican society. We base what we should look like after movie stars and models. Also, when girls see a cute romantic movie they tend to think "why doesnt my boyfriend do that?" or "why cant that happen to me?" The fact is, it doesnt happen because this is real life. This isnt a movie where everything is scripted to go right. I think movies set unreal standards for real life people and some people think or wish life was like a movie. The reality is, it cant be.

Well i like comedies. As you can tell, i like to laugh. The actors in the movie draw me to the movie. Like if Seth Rogan is in a movie i want to see it because i know it will be funny. Well i definitly think that movies play a big role in American Society. Like the Movie Pineapple Express. That mmovie is al about smoking pot and i bet that sense people say that that movie was cool then a lot of people probly started to smoke. The other type of movies that influence people are war movies. I know when i watched saving private ryan i had some thoughs of going in to the military but then again i thought twice and said no way.

I love watching movies. My favorite kinds of movies to watch are comedies and horror movies. The actors or actresses draw me to a certain movie. Particulary, I love Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks, and Owen Wilson movies. Pretty much any funny guy or girl in a movie. Also, I like to watch a movie that has a meaning or a purpose to it. For example, my favorite movie is Forest Gump. Forrest Gump has a lot of historical facts in it, and it also has a purpose. Yes, I think that movies play a role in American society besides just entertainment. Almost every good movie has a meaning or purpose to it. I think that many movies teach Americans lessons about life. Also, some kinds of movies are about mistakes America has made before. Movies like this help show America that we shouldn't make the same mistake twice.

When it comes to movies i really enjoy watching horror films. It draws my attention because things that are shown in horror films are brutal and it keeps your blood flowing. I also enjoy movies that have a twist and it makes you think. These kinda movies draw my attention because it catches my eye and keeps me thinking. Today, i think movies play a big part in society because some movies are about true events. Some of the movies explain books and are played for a lot more reasons then entertainment. I honestly think that if movies were not around their wouldn't only be less entertainment but less explanations of somethings.

I love movies, and I love seeing new movies. My favorite movie is Talledega Nights with Will Farell, even though my favorite kind of movie is action or suspense. I think that this comedy is my favorite movie just because it never gets old. Every time I watch I laugh. I like suspense movies the most because they always stay interesting. I like wondering what is going to happen throughout the whole movie. I think that it is the story line that draws me to a certain movie. If a movie has a boring story line, even the best actor is going to have a hard time livening it up. I like when movies are original, and not the same old stuff that is always in theaters. I think that movies definitely play a role in American society. People are influenced by movies all the time. Viewers see these movies and copy the actions of the characters. Movies also reflect our society. Many recent movies are relevant to what we are accustomed to today. If you watch movies made 10 years ago, you can see how the American society has changed. Movies provide more than entertainment, they give insight on the American culture.

I think that movies are a great way to escape from your life. Everybody likes to go to the movies with their friends and see a good movie. I personally like all kinds of movies. Horror movies are my favorite, but i also like action, and comedies. The soundtrack to a movie says alot about the film. A good movie can really change the way people think sometimes. Now even tho most movies are poorly directed and really dont have anything to do with anything, there are still alot of good movies out there that potray a good message. I really dont have any specific actors that I enjoy but there are definately a number of good actors out there. Many people associate good actors to good movies.

I like all kinds of movies. I think every movie has something to offer to everyone. My most favorite kind by far though is comedy and horror. I like comedies because it is always just fun to laugh. It's a good way to get in a good mood. I like horror films because they are always making you think and they make you tense and pay attention. Movies play a huge roll in society today. They can make fun of current events, show reenactments of past events. Movies can do anything. It's the beauty of Hollywood.

I am typicaly drawn to epic tale movies and movies that make a point. I guess you could say I like the dramatic type movies. Lord of The Rings is one of my all time favorite movies. I don't really know what I like so much about it but its just something that really catches my fancy. I also like romantic movies like the Notebook. Movies that portray a deep emotion are the best to me. The emotion of a movie is produced by the director of it. I don't really have a preference on any specific director but Tim Burton films have always amused me. Acting plays a huge role in a film, so therefore, so do the actors. An actor should be able to play a wide varity of parts. One of my favorite actors is Edward Norton. Music is important in a movie to a certain extent. When a song fits the mood just right it can increase its affect dramatically. I do believe that movies play a huge role in American society because it influences the way people think and act. So many people watch movies in everyday life, you can't help but be influenced by them.

I am very big into movies and truly dont mind many. If i were to compare though, i believe my personal favorite has always been the comedys. These movies such as superbad or step brothers are just so big to me cause i have just always loved the roles in a movie of funny characters. Looking at movies, i see the theme being the biggest drawing me in. If i am to understand what exactly is going on or the setting or maybe even any of the jokes, it has my approval of a good movie. Movies, i beleieve, tend to playa big roll not only in theaters or just entertainment but in real life. All of these scary or horror films that are created are suppose to be looked at as an enjoyment of adrenaline, yet many people feel the need to take it a step further and feel that maybe that is the right thing to do by killing. Such as the movie Bat Man. The actor who was playing the lead roll of the joker loved his roll so much that he acctually got into the roll and killed him self. Thsi is why i believe our producers these days shall watch exactly what kind of movies they make because there are some people in the world that dont understand fiction.

I basically like all movies, except Horror. I'm a big baby when it comes to scary movies! My favorite are comedies, like the srupid ones. I love to laugh, so stupid comedies are perfect. Sometimes it depends on the type movie if actors draw me to it. But, its really all in the preview whether I would like to see the movie or not. I really think movies play a role in society. Like, with girls, they get inspired by actresses, they want their hair like her, or they want to dress like her. But, people in general base what they WANT to look like of movie starts and models.

I personally like all different kinds of movies, i'm not really picky in that aspect. I like comedies, romantic films, and even good zombie movies. Mainly the actors attract me to certain movies over others. For example im not really all that into vampires, but Robert pattinson is very good looking so I went to see Twilight anyways. After watching Twilight I started reading the whole series and I loved it! Now im going to see the premiere of New Moon and im so excited. I think movies play a role in American Society besides entertainment. They express art, peoples creations, they also set examples for people and teach lessons. So yes i think movies definitely play a role in American society.

The type of movies that i enjoy watching are comedies, movies that make me think about what is going on such as the Saw movies and the Oceans movies and action war movies like "the patriot and saving private ryan." What attracts me to movies is the storyline. If i go to a movie that has a pointless storyline then i just feel like it was time wasted if it is a dumb movie. I dont really go to the movies just to see a certain actor i go to see the storyline. Other than entertainment i believe that American society enjoys movies because in todays times people are getting laid off and the movies really take your mind off of what is happening. It relates to the Romans and the way that they take their mind off of the hard times.

I love many different types of movies. My favorites would have to be horor and comedies though. Actors deffiantly draw me to movies, but I think it more has to do with the story line. If the commercials make it look exciting or funny, I will surely go see it. I do believe that movies play a role in American society, more than just entertainment. Movies start trends and show what's cool. Also it provides many jobs. Even people who work behind the scenes gain a lot from movies. Movies that spark a reaction from audiences are the best kind. Some movies also become timeless.

I like all kinds of movies, but I especially like movies with a twist. I also like movies with action and a love story. I like movies because it takes you out of reality and into a different world. They make it so you can take a break from life. I dont like any specific actors because I can never remember there names. Yes, I think Movies play a role in society besides entertainment. They can be a way to express yourself or even relate to people. Movies are just a really good way out.

I seem to be atracted to war and comedy. One of my favorite war movies would be "Saving Private Ryan". This movie really gets my attention because of it's historical accuracy in war and it's well played out action. Another series that also gets my attention is "Band of Brothers". This series is very realistic and just overall great. One main thing I look for in these types of movies is accuracy. When I say this I mean historicly and played out right. In comedy it needs to be funny, duh, but also needs to have a point to it. I think movies have an inspirational role to americans these days. Some movies might give them goals or dreams or just even something they can honor. Actors make a great role in this. Some actors are more famous than others and really put those little touches in that make it a good movie.

Personally, I love all kinds of movies. It depends on what mood I am in. If I'm in a hyper mood, I like comedies and horror/suspence. When I feel like just hanging around the house doing nothing I like watching Chick-flicks, action, or whatever floats my boat that day. The storyline draws me most to a movie. I don't like watching movies that all have similar storylines because that is boring. If there is a good actor or actress in the movie then that can sometimes help decide what movie to watch. I really like seeing movies when it's over and you are still thinking about it. Movies play a big role in America's society today besides just being entertainment. Some movies change your perception on things you never really thought of much before. Movies can also either influence you, or not influence you into doing something. For example, there is so many sick horror films that have been created, you can't help thinking that some of these movies are giving phyco-paths out there some ideas.

I like all types of movies. My most favorite ones though are the movies with blood and gore. im not sure why i like those kinds but i do. I like a good action movie to like indiana jones. I also like comedies alot too. Scary movies are ok but they scare me alot most of the time. If the actors in the movie are good actors then i like the movie. In american society movies play more then just the rold of entertainment. Movies give people good jobs so the acters can provide for their families.

I like most kind of movies (except anything scary) but my favorite would have to be comedies and romantic comedies too. I like any movie that can make me laugh, even the really stupid ones. I like chick flicks and every once in a while, I just want to watch a movie that will make me cry. I think that actors can draw me to a movie and kind of spark my interest in it but doesn't really have that much of an impact on it. I could really care less who the director is though and music doesn't really draw me to a movie. After I see the movie is when I notice the music though and sometimes I find a new artist or favorite song. I definitely think that movies play a role in American society past entertainment. Some movies are based off of events that actually happened and help people better understand what happened and how to deal with it; it tells a whole different story about the people who lived through it, not just the facts. People can learn a lot from movies, even the dumb ones and can really identify their feelings with it. Movies bring people together and are a huge part of our culture.

Im really into the classics. My favorite movies are the old James Bond movies because theyre a perfect balance of action, romance, suspence and humor. Out of all of the Bond movies, i would have to say that Dr. No is my all time fav, but my favorite Bond is definatly Pierce Brosnan. I love these movies so much probably because James Bond is the ultimate man. He is a badass agent who never looses, a suave romantic and overall ladies man,and he always has a sweet car. I really dont see how these movies play any role in todays society except providing entertainment. These movies were made a long time ago, except teh recent one ofcourse,. They may have had some significant meaning then, but i really dont see one now. This could be that i dont look into the deeper meanings of them enough, so it could be there. :)

I like alot of different kinds of movies. I really like comidies and they draw my attention because who doesnt like a funny movie? One of my favorite movies is Stepbrothers and it hilarious. I could watch it over and over. I kinda like watching scary movies but they creep me out,and ill never watch one alone, ever. I dont like how horror movies make you think these things could actually happen, and things pop out.. its just creepy. Certain actors can draw my attention to a movie, or maybe just what the movie is about. I dont really have a favorite actor so thats not really how i base my favorite movies. Movies play a role in American society besides just entertainment because in alot of ways it shapes how we do things. In movies the things that happen usually influence us to try different things or are based on things that have happened. But, sometimes movies make things too good to be true and not how things actually work in reality.

I personaly like all kinds of movies. My favorite movie would have to be comedies though. There aren't any actors or directors that really draw me to a specific movie. The theme is what draws me to a movie, like Pineapple Express, How High and Half Baked are my favorite movies. Music doesn't draw me to a movie either. I think movies play a minor role in American society. Movies provide entertainment, and bring families together.

i honestly like all movies. even really dumb ones i find something entertaining about them. i could like without action movies, some are ok, but there probably my least favorite. i have a handful of favorite actors for different genres, directors have never really caused me to want to see a movie though. i think society is immensely impacted by what we see. i've kindof came to the conclusion that disney channel is ruining the youth of America. i've watched shows like hannah montanna or the other disney shows and they are all about bratty girls. for the most part the girls have smartass remarks about everything and are constantly making fun of people. i started realizing it is really affecting kids who watched this when my little cousin who always looked up to me rolled her eyes at me! i think the girls that grew up watching shows like these are going to be extremely dramatic and catty. i know those are movies but you get it =]

The kind of movies I like are: Action, adventure, comedy, epic gun fights, anything with zombies. I like these kind of movies because they can all be thrown together to make one super movie, such as zombieland. I love movies like zombie land because there is a lot of killing, and action; also the story line of a movie is very important because it the movie is advancing in some way instead of plots jumping around and you not being able to follow the story. Also movies such as zombieland have just a little bit of romance to make it attractive to almost every body, even my mom enjoyed zombieland. I think that movies play a bigger role than just entertainment. Such as district nine, district nine had an underlying theme that portrayed the way Americans treated each other, not just people who are different. District nine was about how an alien species appeared above earth, and America brought them down and put them into ghettos and supplied them with what they needed, such as Hitler did except for supplying the Jews with things they need. So i think that producers are using movies to try to better America and help us recognize our flaws in an entertaining manner so we can better ourselves.

There are a variety of movies that I'm interested in. Mostly I enjoy comedies. If a movie is interesting and can hold my attention that I would be interested in it. Actors making it seem real and a good story line. Music has to go along with the movie. If your playing happy music during an action sean, then it wouldn't make sense. I do believe that movies play a role in American society. This is because it can go along with an issue that may be happening in your own life.

My favorite type of movies would have to be comedies and cheesy chick flicks. I think my all time favorite movies are how to lose a guy in 10 days, talledega knights and the hangover. I definely think the actors in a movie draw me to them. If i see that Will Ferral is in a new movie then i would go see it because i know it would be hilarious. I think that movies are more then just entertainment in society. They have a lot to do with entertainment, but today there is a lot more informational movies or movies that have a strong message. Even comedies have really good themes or messages to them, for example in the movie knocked up, the message is family always comes first.

The types of movies I like are horror and comdedy. In horror films, the suspense is what really draws me in. I like movies that make me laugh cause their funny which is why I enjoy comedies. A great actor in many comedies is Jim Carey. I think hes hilarious in all of the movies I have seen him in. I dont really care for the directors, and I dont base watching a movie off who the director is. The music isnt a factor in my movie decision making. Yes, I do think movies play a role in american society besides just being entertainment by almost representing who the american society is.

I like to watch movies all the time. My favorite kind is comedies for sure. I think a good preview draws me to a movie. If i laugh at the commercial then i want to go see the movie. Also i hear from my friends if a movie is good or bad so that helps. I think the actor in the movie plays a big part also. They have to be funny. I think movies play a sort of distraction to americans. If they are having a tough day or tough week they can sink into a movie and forget all there troubles. I think it has always been this way. It is entertainment but for diffrent reasons.

Honestly I really don't have favorite type of movie I like them all. Only of there not stupid boring ones though. The thing that draws me to a movie are the actors or actresses. Movies definitely play a big role in American society. Most of them kind of like teach a lesson about life, and how things are. Also, they show how everything is not real, and can only happen in dreams. They express feelings, and get people to laugh. If movies weren't around I think there wouldn't really be big entertainment in America.

If it sounds good I will go and see it. No I do not think that movie play a big role in society, they are mainly for entertainment.

I like action, adventure, comedy, horror, and sci-fi movies. Awesome quick clip trailers and previews of a movie draw me to movies. I don't really care for actors unless it's either Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Segal, Micheal Jai White, or any other world reknown martial artsist(other than Chuck Norris). I think movies do play a role in the American society. I think movies are just a way for people to come together. I also see movies as the whole bread and circus thing form the Roman times. Movies are a way to let people watch things, that most of the time resembles an epic poem, that people know are not real.

Horror movies and comedies are my favorite movies to watch. Suspense draws me to horror movies and actors in certain comedies. Adam Sandler is a great comedian and I will usually watch movies that he is in. Yes, I do believe movies play a role in American Society. There are some movies that you can learn live lessons from. For example, my favorite movie- Shawshank Redemption, a man is sent to prison for the killing of his wife. Since he was the husband he was automatically the number one suspect. The justice system sent an innocent man to prison. This movie showed that sometimes our justice system doesn't always work right. There are many other movies that deal with the aspects of life. Another example would be movies that deal with people having cancer; people can relate to this topic because most of us have dealt with this disease. American's are interested in movies that they can relate to and are inspired by watching other people going through situations that touch them personally.

I like movies that are action, comedy, romance, and some scary movies. I like movies that hold my attention or make me actually feel or relate to some emotion such as fear, love, or any other strong feeling. That seems to be what draws me into a certain movie. When I actually feel something like fear or really laugh out loud, it makes the movie more interesting. I think it's a combination of good actors and the story line. I think movies do play a role in American society besides just being entertainment. They provde a way for writers and directors to express their views on problems and issues in the world. I also think that it is a way for actors and actresses to express themselves and do what they love. I feel like some movies challenge you to think as well. There always seems to be a message in most movies that I enjoy. There are some movies that are just so stupid and pointless that they are funny but other than that there is usually something for the audience to take away from the movie. The movies I really hate the most are when i stare at the screen after it's over and ask, "What was the point of that?" Movies with a meaning or movies that move you emotionally are the best ones.

I like all kinds of movies. Comedies and Action movies are probably my favorite to watch though. I love comedies because when there is a good comedy, you could watch it twice in a row and it would still be funny. With action movies, I like the ones with shooting and killing the best. These keep me interested and are fun to watch. Some movies definitely draw my attention because of actors and actresses. For example, the only reason I saw transformers was because Megan Fox was in it. Any movie she is in I would see. Another movie that actors/ actresses effected was Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It was an action movie with shooting AND it had Angelina Jolie in it. I definitly think movies play a role in societies. Mcdonalds and other fast food places use cartoon characters to attract people. They give out little disney action figures with their meals to attract kids.

I love movies, especially comedies; they are probably my favorite kind of movies. Sexy actors draw my attention to movies I always make it a priority when people like Dane cook are in movies… with their shirts off. I’ve never been attracted to a movie my directors or music. Movies that catch my eye are ones that make you crack up during the preview. I also like cute movies, about love stories. Chick flick would probably be my second favorite. I think that movies play a big part in American society, they bring people together. Entertainment is a big industry and huge part of peoples lives.

movies are a great way to just forget about what’s going on in your life and think about nothing but the movie. I love horror and comedies and ones with a twist. My fave is horror though. They keep you interested and on your toes. And I love to watch people jump or make them jump when they are watching them! I hate when I have read a book and loved the book but when they come out with the movie I usually hate the movie. They change so much and I hate it. Like the Twighlight I hate the movies! And Kristen Stewart ick I hate her she cant act!!! Anyways…I think the actors in movies draw my attention. Mostly the hott guy actors :D! I do think that movies play a big part in society it’s a way for you to forget everything and have fun. It gives people a break from their lives to watch someone else either go make their dreams come true, do stupid shit, mess up their lives, or get killed by a scary lookin clown. We all love movies!

I like all kinds of movies. I love comedies of course, and there are many actors I really like. I like John C. Reilly form movies like pineapple express. I also like actors such as Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill, and Bill Hader. That cast always seems to be together in a bunch of movies. However, I also like horror films a lot. I like the ones that are really lifelike and based on a true story. For example, the Hauting in Connecticut was on of the freakiest movies I have ever seen. I enjoyed so much, especially because it kept my interest through the whole thing. With that being said, I also like horror movies like the SAW movies. I've seen all of them but the 6th. I have to argue that the second one is the best. Anyways, those really keep my interest because its cool how they set up the 'games'. I also really like action movies and war movies. I like the history content and the suspense of them. And, as much I hate to say it, I sometimes like the more girly ones, but only if I have someone special watching it with me. Movies play a huge part in American life. I think they influence people to do so many things. It could be bad like killing someone or it could be good like going into the army. I also think they often send a good message no matter how stupid the movie is. There is always a lesson to be learned.

Personally, I like comedies, action, and suspensful movies. I dont like quiet movies that take forever to get into. The reason is because action and the suspense seems to draw me into the movie more, and i can understand and enjoy the movie better. Some movies that have good actors also kinda draw me into movies. one of my favorite movie actors is Will Smith. The reason hes a favorite of mine is the movies hes been in like: Hancock, I am Legend, and I Robot. those are good movies with lots of action and are more appealing to me. But in an American society point of view, I think they play a role other than entertainment because some movies like independence day can motivate and even create more patriotism in people, especially if they are about to go to war. But movies can also seem to change the point of view of the world. Certain movies show stress and sadness in people that viewers can relate to and that makes them feel better.

I like any kind of movie as long as its good. But no matter what i'm in love with animated disney movies. Kung fu pandas my favorite. I don't know what it is about them, but i can watch them over and over and over again. Its probably because everytime i watch them i notice something different. I've can never watch a regular movie over and over. Because it just gets kind of boring after a while. I love scary and funny movies. romantic movies bore me and put me to sleep. i feel the same way about informational movies. Horror movies probably come second, because i have come to like the anticipation, knowing that somethings going to happen, but not know when. I really like the director Tim Burton because he always seems to make weird interesting movies. I think movies play a HUGE role in american society. everything is sort of of perfect in a way. the actors look flawless and in some movies everything right happens, they have everything they want. And thats not the case in real life. Its the ideal lifestyle that barely anyone lives, but everyone wants.

I love movies, just being able to sit back and relax and watch something that draws your attention and is so captvating that you cant take your eyes off the screen. I will pretty much watch any movie any type of movie as long as its not a romanitic or documentary. Some aspects that draw my attention to movies are: looks funny, action packed, and lts of explotions lol. One of my most favorite types of movie are animated If I could only count how many times I have watched Kung Fu Panda with allyson. It see,s that everytime I go to her house we end up watching it, but I don't mind because the more you watch something the better detail you see it in. One of my all time favorite directors has to be Rob Zombie. Rob Zombie makes some incredibly fucked up and disurbing movies that are so crazy to watch. Every film I've seen by him has kept me on my toes, not knowing what was going to happen next. I love horror and suspence films the best I think. Yes, I do believe that movies play a great role in American society, becuase its like another world completely. As an actor you can be who you want to be, break away from everyday life and be, a killer, a spy, anything you can possibly put your mind to being. Everyone is always so flawless and can be what they want and act how they want, if only thats how the real life could be.

I live a wide variety a movies. I like comedies, romantic comedies, suspenseful, sad movies, and then action. However, I do not like horror/scary movies. I am terrified of them. I get scared very easily. Although, I can handle some scary movies, not all, but most of them give me the shivers down my spine. What draws me into the movie is usually how good the previews are. If they are have goos music, funny parts, then I'll most likely go see it. However, I go see some movies though because of the actors and actresses. I believe that movies play a major role in the American society. People believe that what happens in movies are real, or what should happen in real life. The truth is though, that life is nothing like the movies. In movies you can guess what will happen next, in life you will never guess what will happen, it's always a mystery.

I love movies! I love watching them with my mom and making like a movie night of them. I think the best time I ever had watching a movie was with one of my friends at her house and then re-acting to the movie because she was dancing like an idiot in the movie. Even though this is really cliché, I love romantic comedies, or girly flicks. I love a movie that either puts me at the edge of my seat or is funny. If there is a really good actress or maybe a hot actor, I would watch the movie. Some movies have a real point to them, which is one other thing that pulls me into watching a movie. I think that some movies try to inspire people or try to help them through an issue. Those kinds of movies show real life as it is and try not to fancy it up Hollywood style. All, in all, movies are a good way of bringing people together and I really like watching them with my friends and family. I love movies and I will always love them!

I like many different types of movies. My favorite type though, is comedy. My favorites movies are House Bunny, Fight Club and Harry Potter. I like movies that I can watch and I can relate to it in some way. Usually actors and actress draw me to movies. Daniel Radcliffe who plays Harry Potter is my favorite actor, so any movie he is in I will watch. I do think that movies play more than just the role of entertainment in our society. Movies influence people to do different things. We also base many things off movies. We want out lives to be just like people in movies but in reality that's hard to accomplish.

I think that my favorite type of movie would be a comedy. Comedies are by far my favorite type of movies. I like comedies so much because I like to laugh and have a good time. I do believe certain actors draw me into movies. Actors such as Will Farrell, Adam Sandler and Seth Rogan draw me into their movies. I do believe movies play a role in American society. They play a role because each movie has a meaning to it, it just depends on if you understand that meaning in a different way then it is showed. Lots of movies have hidden meanings and you just have to figure them out. Also movies express feelings and you can learn from movies.

Personally, I like funny movies. Sometimes I like scary movies but it depends on where I am watching it. Things that get me into movies are ones that look funny or really interesting. I do think that movies play a role in American society. People get ideas for their own life off of movies, if they see something they like in a movie they might try to imitate it. But a down side to that is that what happens in movies usually doesn't happen in real life. There are cool effects, or how a plot turns out, like in chick flicks when a boy does something for a girl. Some people will look at movies and compare them to their own lives which isn't always a good thing, because like i said before what happens in movies is not reality.

I like a variety of different movie types. For example: I like horror, action, comedy, romance, romantic-comedy, etc. I guess what draws me into a movie is the actors and what the story is about. It's really important what the story is about and how good or bad it is, to me. If the story sucks then i'm not interested at all. The music in a movie helps too. Like in a horror movie, if somebody is about to die and the music becomes scary/creepy it draws me in. Movies in a way are like a coliseum in Rome; it's purpose is to help people get away from their life and their problems. I say this because, when I go to the movies I forget everything thats been happening to me. The bad and the good are all forgotten and all that matters is whats happening in the movie.

The type of movie i like the most are action movies, like military and other movies, like Hancock, transformers. The action and reality of most of the movies, like black hawk down, is what draws me to most movies. The action and reality of the movie shows me whats going on in the world, and what some people have to go through. I think movies play a huge role in American society because they help people come together, and talk about movies, and they see how some things in the world work. like the military and other things.

Well i really like all types of movies personally. But i would have to say my favorite movies are scary. I absolutely love scary movies. scary movies are always just so interesting and keep you attached to the movie. My second favorite would be comedy. I love comedy too only because it makes you laugh and almost all comedy movies are very good. I really don't have any specific actors or directors in movies. And not so much of the music either its more of the acting that gets my attention. Today, i think movies play a big part in society because some movies are about true events. Some of the movies explain books and are played for a lot more reasons then entertainment. Movies are a good way of bringing people together.

I am usually the type of person who likes all movies. Their are some movies that I dont like. My favorite type of movie would have to be scary or horror. I love that they keep you on your toes the whole time. Never knowing whats going to happen next. Im not really a fan of comedy movies though. I have to say it takes a lot to make me laugh during a movie. So I usually dont watch them. When watching a movie it has to have a point to it, or I just wwant to shut it off bc their would be no point in watching it. I think in American Society today we not only watch movies for entertain, but also to learn. You can learn a lot from watching movies. It kind of gives you life experience in a way. Because its kind of like your in the movie experiencing whats going on.

Well i like a veriaty of movies. I guess i would say that im not really into old movies. I mostly like movies that have a good meaning and they could really happen. i like going to the movies and seeing scary movies. i dont realy have favorite actor or director that draws me to certian movies.i think that movies deffinatly play a huge role in American society. some people base their lives off what they see in the movies because what happens in movies is something you cant have. directors base their movies on themes that they know people want but cant have.

I like war, mystery, action, and comedy movies. There are several things that drive me to a movie. An example would be a movie with large explosions. I like Micelle Bay’s works because it always involves many explosions and battle scenes. I think it is the thrill when you don’t know what will happen next that gets me into these types of movies. I also think that movies play an entertainment role in the American society. The reason that I think that it is how everyone will go out to see a movie just to see a movie that they have waited for or watched before. Even people being hit hard in this recession still save up money to see a movie.

I love movvies. My favorite type of movies are Action and western movies. My favorite action movie is Gran Torino. It is my favorite beacue there is so much action in it. Also because it has a great plot behind it. I think that the actor draws me to a movie. I think that because I love all of Clint Eastwood's movies, espicially Dirty Harry. His western movies are all great too. I also like westerns because even though they are all old movies they are high quaility made movies. The plots in them are great and there are always some local criminal that is going to get his but kicked by a town hero. I think that movies play an important role in American society. I think that because they have a lot of meaning in them that influences Americans. For example back when Clint Eastwood's movie Dirty Harry came out, there was an increase in the number of .44 magnum handguns that were sold, they increased in sale becaust that was the Handgun the Dirty Harry used and served justice with.

My favorite types of movies are suspense/thrillers, comedies, and yes . . . wait for it . . . documentaries (What do you expect?). I always like to watch a great thriller. That "What will happen next?" thing always appeals to me. A great story line makes a movie worth watching. Good acting is very important too. Music can always add a nice touch to a movie. It sets the mood for the scene, and can change how one feels about a situation or problem in the movie. Movies play a HUGE roll in American society. Movies are one thing you hear everybody talking about. "Have you seen xyz movie?" Movies are a main form of entertainment for Americans. Besides that, movies can be incredibly educational (hence my liking for documentaries). Movies are great fun, and that is why so many people like to watch them.

I enjoy watching a very wide variety of movies. I can watch almost anything. However my favorite genre of movie would have to be inspirational. I enjoy these following inspirational movies Radio, Never Back Down, Remember the Titans, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I like these types of movies because it makes me want to do something or make a change in my life. I also like christmas movies. There is nothing like watching good ol' christmas movie to get you into the holiday spirit. My personal favorite christmas movie is Elf with Will Ferrel. As far as actors go i like lots of them Will Smith is probably my favorite and Actresses if there hot then i like them. I think movies play a large role in American society today because more children rely on watching movies then reading and it also takes you away from the real world for a short period of time.

Personally i like all movies. If i had to choose favorites though i would probably say Scary movies and comedies. I like comedies because if im ever in a bad mood all i have to do is watch a funny movie and it all goes away. My favorite actor is Jason Stathm, so i have basically seen every movie that he is in. Music deffinitely does not draw me to movies. I hate musicals, they are stupid, and pointless. I think movies play a huge role in society. They play a huge role in society because they are basically what every teenager does on a friday or saturday night when they have free time. When i see a scary movie, the easiest way not to get scared is to prove it wrong. For example "Paranormal Activity" that was one of my favorite movies, and i didnt believe it because i proved it al wrong, or most of it at least.

Above all, my favorite type of movie is a comedy. Who doesnt love having a good laugh with some friends. For ex, Liar Liar, Role Models, Kung-Pow, and the Hangover are all great examples. I guess what draws me to a certain movie is that it has to be so good, that no matter how many times you watch it, it never gets old. Then you know its a really good movie. I do believe that movies play a role in American society besides just entertainment. They make up a large part of peoples' jobs and stimulate the economy a lot I think. I actually enjoy making movies too, like home videos and stuff.

Personally, I like romances, comedies, adventures, and fantasy movies. My least favorite type of movies are horror. I am drawn to certain movies because of many things. If I like the actors playing parts in the movies I will be interested in it. The story line also plays an impact on whether I am interested in seeing the movie or not. The type of music also makes watching a movie more enjoyable. For example, one of my favorite movies is Forest Gump. Forest Gump has an awesome soundtrack and knowing the music helpe me enjoy the movie more and feel more connected with it. I think that movies impact society in both negative and positive ways. Movies create stereotypes. The stereotype of the ideal body, face, or personality is created in movies. When people watch movies they pay attention to how the characters act and look. Movies, though people may not realize, are not real. This ideal person puts false images into people's heads and corrupts society. Movies are a good source of entertainment. Many people watch movies to take a step back from reality and be in a different world. A world where anything is possible.

Today I would like you to discuss movies. What types of movies do you like? What draws you to a certain movie? Actors, directors, music? Do you think that movies play a role in American society besides just being entertainment? Why or why not?

Personally, my movie of choice are sports and action. I enjoy movies with lots of killing, and non fiction. Actors and Directors do not really have any preference on me. I dont really pay attention to them. I thinkl that movies play a role in society because they implant ideas in peoples minds. Movie make people look at the world different, do things different, and do things they normally wouldnt. I think that movie do this because they lure audiences in. Sometimes these effects can be positive or negative. Lastly, on a side note I DO NOT LIKE scary movies at all. I think they are totally unneeded.

When in comes to movies, I am not too critical or picky. I like a little bit of everything, besides horror films. I do not understand why anyone would pay money to watch a movie, have a heart attack, pee their pants and leave the theater in fear. The whole concept is pretty ridiculous if you ask me, but then again I am quite the baby when it comes to scary movies. Personally, I love comedies. I am not necessarily drawn to a movie because of the actors, music or directors although that can play a factor. Instead I am attracted to movies that look more upbeat, light and funny. I want to leave a movie theater in a good mood, laughing or expressing new inside jokes. Movies like: Stepbrothers, Zoolander, Pineapple Express and Superbad are all light and pretty silly yet they always tend to put me in a good mood. I would definitaly agree that movies play a hugeee role in American society. Every year billions and billions of dollars are spent by the people behind the movie screen to create the classic films we all adore. In the same sense, hundreds of billions of dollars are racked in by these producers and creators which obviously shows that as Americans, movies play a huge role in our entertainment. In addition to all the money spent on and in creating movies, but look at the cultural history of Americans. Generations are influenced greatly and nearly shaped by epic films and classic tales like Starwars. Furthermore, regardlesss of what type of movie one prefers, there is no denying that movie play a major role in American lifestyle.

I like comedies, romance, and horror but my favorite is comedy. Comedies are the best medicine, as cliche as it sounds, they help me get through a lot. I love to laugh, and I love when people make me laugh. When I was younger, my brother Jake, was my favorite because he is so funny(if you couldn't tell). I like comedies because they are an excuse to smile and laugh until your abs burn and you pass out, sometimes they give you an excuse to be immature. After a day of work and school and stress it is nice to relax and just laugh, it helps melt the stress away. I believe movies play a big role in American society, producers and film directors use movies to get a point out and imfluence viewers. P.S. I love you is my favorite movie, and although it is not a comedy it still spoke to me and got a reaction out of me. I learned to love harder, and it definitly plays a role in my life everyday.
