Good job with vocab and grammar today. Please, please study for both quizzes this week. Remember, there are many points assigned to these quizzes and you should not allow them to bring your grade down.
For this evening, we will look at current events. Again, make sure you pick an event that is not entertainment or sports based unless you can some how attach them to something relevant going on in our world. Give a brief explanation of the event and how it directly effect you, your community and your world.

Again today many parents wonder if there children either have a simple cold or maybe have a case of swine flu. Many children are sent to school sick when they shouldnt be, causing other children to gain this cold. As the parents keep allowing this, it is just adding to all the colds which could eventually come down with a severe case of swine flu.To prevent any of this, doctors are now trying to get acroos to parents that it is very mortant to keep your sick schildren away from schools, cause sending them is just getting others sick and the others whom are sick are getting your child sicker.
Personally i have had a cold the last couple days and also noticed alot of my friends and others at the school also carry this. The way i feel is that the best thing to do is just let your parents know if you truly dont feel good and let them also know the consiquences ofletting you go. Not only will you spread it, but you may even get sicker. SO make the right decision and stay healthy and safe.

More Americans are at risk for getting heart disease. According to a paper published Monday in Circulation, a journal of the American Heart Association, fewer than 8% of all Americans can now be considered at low risk for heart disease. This means that 92% of Americans are not as healthy as they could be. Different types of ethnic groups are effected more that others. 8.2% of whites were at low risk for heart disease, 5.3%of Mexican Americans were at low risk, and African Americans were at 4.6%. Problems that are causing heart disease are blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity. This article effected me personally because I was born with a congenital heart defect. My heart defect makes me more high risk for getting heart disease. To prevent myself from getting heart disease I need to stay healthy and stay in shape. Heart Disease effects my community and world because it is a huge killer in the world and something needs to be done about it. Heart Disease is rising and something needs to be done to fix it.

For my current event I am going to blog about Hummer being bought by a chinese auto maker. Hummer was a General Motors car brand and was made in the United States. With Hummer becoming a chinese car brand, we are giving away one of america's most well known cars. Hummer is known for its dependancy and its quality, which is why I think that it should remain an American made car. Hummers are used in the Military, how is it going to look if America is using other countries vehicles as Military vehicles. Im not happy about what is going on in the auto industry and I believe it contributes greatly to the economic problems we are currently having.

For my current event im going to talk about the economy. Today General Motors said that they would add shifts at three U.S. assembly plants, restoring 2,400 jobs, as it shutters other facilities or prepares them for new products. The addition of shifts at plants in Kansas, Indiana and Michigan comes at a time when U.S. auto industry sales are thought to have hit bottom and manufacturers are raising production to restore depleted vehicle inventories. This relates to my family a lot. ince my dad lost his job a month ago times have been tough. So General Motors opening new shifts gives my dad hope that he can find a new job.

The General Motors Company is planning on adding shifts to 3 of their U.s plants. These shifts will be added in Lansing Delta Township, Fairfax, Kan, and Ft. Wayne, Ind. These plants opening new shifts will give 2,400 people a job. This relates to me and my family alot. My dad works for GM he has his job now but was layed off for a little bit earlyer this year. Its a tough time right now the way the economy is. So the new shifts opeening up will be good for my family if my dad gets a jbob there. And many more familys will be better off too.

during the past couple of days i have been sick with a sinus infection. But as we know the H1N1 also known as the Swine Flu has become an epedemic across America. As soon as my mom saw that i was getting sick she went onto the internet to look up symtoms for the swine flu. Luckily i did not have it but many people do and it is importent to know the symptoms because H1N1 can be deadly. Since i can remember if you just had a little cold then you still had to go to school but now that the Swine Flu has broke out than parents are advised to keep their child home. Now i didnt stay home because i never have had the flu and just a sinus infection so i lucked out. The Swine Flu effects me because when im at school i can never trust if someone has washed there hands, and its scary because of the Swine Flu outbreak. Since the Swine Flu outbreak kicked into gear i now try to protect my self from getting sick by washing my hands, not sneezing into my hands, and even keeping other people from taking my shit and getting their germs on it. The only people who can really stop the outbreak of the H1N1 is us, because its all on our shoulders if we want to be healthy or not.

My current event is on the economy and the meeting on the G-20 countries. On how we need to change our deficit spending. President Obama said that is going to work on the “reckless risk-taking” factor, which is what he says put us into this financial crisis. He is getting support from other leaders. The G-20 countries are having a meeting to see if President Obama can turn around to U.S. budget deficit. He wants to raise the United States savings, mostly by cutting back on imports. Americans savings has gone up to because everyone is cutting back spending. The difference is that the United States budget deficit is raising. The money was spent to stabilize banks and jump start the economy. The administration believes it would have been better if we were not to spend the money.

Counterterrorism officials have posted bullitins for local and private locations to look out for terrorist activities. After recently finding new plots that go with terrorist acts the U.S. needs to step up the alert. A man from colorado was just caught with plans to detonate back-pack bombs in New York city trains. These were to be set just like the london bombings a few years ago.
Other locations that could be threatened are stadiums, hotels etc. This is a major problem because tons of americans lives are threatened. I'm just happy they caught them before it's to late.

I read about the researcher at the University of Chicago that died. He was working with a strain of bacteria called Yersinia Pestis that causes plague around the world. He was trying to find a vaccine for it and was supposed to be dealing with a version that didn't make people sick but its what caused his death. He went into the emergency room with flu like symptoms and 12 hours later he was dead which is a really scary thing. The Center for Disease control and state and city health departments were supposed to be monitoring it and making sure that nothing went wrong but that didn't happen. The family isn't going to sue but theres always the what ifs and how someone should have been able to stop it before it was too late. This is a current event because nothing in life is 100% and people have to make sacrifices sometimes. Its the same thing for soldiers and missionaries. It also can teach people about the importance of taking safety precautions and having better workplace safety to prevent things like this from happening.

There are a lot of current events right now, but i found one that really related to me and a lot of people, mostly girls, in our school. Its about the dangers of tanning. About 2 million teens go tanning each year, which puts them at risk for skin cancer and melanoma. You must be over 15 to go tanning, if you are younger you must have parental consent. only 11% of tanning salons were following FDA recommendations. There is evidence that the younger you are the more dangerous tanning can be. I, as well as my friends go tanning about atleast 4 times a week. For any age you should only be going about 2 or 3 times with a day inbetween going. This is very serious and dangerous. Which makes me think again about going tanning.

The economy has been in a down fall for a while now and has been getting worse. People are losing their jobs, homes, and also families. I have had to move two times in the two years because of not being able to afford the payment on the house. My step has lost his job and had to go into early retirerment just to support the family. The U.S goverment needs to step in and start doing something fast, maybe change the way they are spending money. The G-20 countries are having a meeting to see if President Obama can turn around to U.S. budget deficit. He wants to raise the United States savings, mostly by cutting back on imports. Americans savings has gone up to because everyone is cutting back spending.

My current even is about the cervical cancer vaccine. Experts say that one in three girls have gotten at least the first dose of this three part shot. The cervical cancer shot prevents the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus virus which causes cervical cancer. Many doctors are pushing this shot on teenage girl patients, but why are some doctors still on the edge? This shot is fairly new that some doctors aren’t sure about it STILL, when the shot first came out there were a few deaths due to this shot. Doctors say this is all taken care of but then why are people still scared? This shot is very controversial. This pertains to me because every time I go to the doctors she pushes this shot on me and my mom, so the risks pertain to me.

something that ive been noticing with my parents is financial issues. As many americans struggle to make ends meet, some have considered moving from the country, or moving to another state. this is an option my parents have considered. beacuse of the economy, mant companys are moving from the u.s, into other foreign countrys. Leaving behind their workers, and their country.
I think if the country is to come out of the recession, the country's buisness's need to stay in america. my family has personally been affected by this, and the outcome is not good. So for americas sake, stay american
There is finally hope for the General Motors company. GM is re-hiring 2,400 emloyers at car plants in some states. Although some may not think that this is very helpful for us in Michigan, it really is. We need to take baby steps in order to climb our way back up to greatness, and i believe that this is a good start. After filing for bankruptcy this summer, GM is slowly making a comeback. Many families in Michigan have suffered great amounts from all the problems happening at GM. I have had friends and family members lose their jobs because of it, and it's a scary thing. Now that America has some hope for a brighter future for General Motors, maybe it will bring some peace in our lives.

Today for my current i chose Chinese president pledges steps to combat climate change. Chinese President Hu Jintao told a U.N. summit on climate change Tuesday that China will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase reliance on clean energy sources in coming years. As one of the world's two largest greenhouse gas emitters, China is a major player in international negotiations on a new global climate change treaty. In his most specific proposal, Hu said China will increase forest cover by 40 million hectares by 2020. This is a way to offset greenhouse gas emissions by industrial polluters, cars, airplanes and other sources. The increase, equal to more than 150,000 square miles, or an area almost as big as California, would be based on China's forest cover in 2005, according to Hu. This current event relates to my life because i care about the environment and dont want global warming, or the greenhouse gases to effect the earth. Its great to see that China is trying to make a change to help save the earth!

We have always known smoking was bad for us. And on a national average there has been a 26% decrease in heart attacks since people have banned smoking in public places. This doesn't necessarily mean that just people smoking have been saved. But the people around them in public places are being saved also. 25-30% of people get a heart disease because of second hand smoke. I agree completely with public places banning smoking. Smoking is a bad habit that people should just quit completely but the more people who ban it there's a greater chance of people quitting because they will have to cut down and hopefully quit completely.

One of the "Big 3" is maybe getting back on its feet. GM is restoring 2,400 jobs around the U.S. GM is also adding shifts to plants in areas like Lansing Delta Township, Fairfax, Kansas and Ft. Wayne Ind. They said they are going to maximize utilization of several of the plants. This will help bring jobs to many un-employed people and in these areas. The new Lansing shift is to begin in April, so hopefully we will see some progress around that time. This effects me because family and family friends I know have lost jobs at GM as well as other automobile plants. With the economy in the toilet, its hard to survive with only un-employement checks, so these shifts would help some people get back on their feet.

For the current event I'm going to talk about a killing in Beason, Illinois. Five members of a family were killed today. Logan County Sheriff Steve Nichols said they received a 911 call at about 4:30 pm Monday night about a possible shooting. Along with the five people murdered there is a three year old girl in the hospital. This effects me and my community by people are getting killed every day not that far from where we are and it's a scary thing. Anyone could be killed at anytime by someone who doesn't care about hurting people, or killing them. Anyone could just go crazy and start killing people for no reason. And no one has no idea who or when someone could do that.

According to new polls, there's a lot of anger at the federal government. People also seem to be mad at both major poltical parties. Out of 1000 adults 66% said the were very angry or somewhat angry about federal government policies.
I know that for me this is true. Im mad at the federal government and i've never liked the Democratic or Republican parties. My parents aren't happy with the federal government either. It seems, to me, that as time goes on the federal government is disliked more and more by the people. I'm suprised that they're just now finding out that people hate them.

One current event that recently caught my eye was the development of a seinor sitizen driving rehabilitation course. I hate old people who can't drive but still do it anyways and cause problems. The seinor sitizen driving rehabilitation course is basically a driving test, like we take to get our licenses, for old people. It tests to see if they are a danger to others around them or a nusence to the road. They have to pass all of the requirements that we do, and if they fail to do well, they loose their lisense. This is obviously revevent to us because nobody likes bad old drivers. This will help keep atleast some of they off the road and out of the way. I think that it should become a law that seinor sitizens have to take this course just to check that they still are safe drivers.

Today at the United Nations meeting, Brack Obama and Hu Jinato of china addressed the issue of global warming. The reason this topic was brought up was because of the climate change in china, and the massive amounts of rain fall they have received. These large amounts of rain fall have caused a flood at a amusement park killing 9 people. Now the reason the U.S. and china are beginning to lead the charge against carbon emissions is because they are the 2 largest countries that produce the most Co2. While no actuall plan was set up, countries listed what tactics have worked to decrease emissions, and have begun to plan long term and short term goals to decrease c02 emissions. Another issue that was brought up was the support wealthier nations will give to help poorer nations to reduce unavoidable c02 emissions. As quoted by obama "unless the world's nations act "boldly, swiftly and together, we risk consigning future generations to an irreversible catastrophe."
With that said, I think that countries can now begin to work together to reduce temperature changes across the globe.

The swine flu is an epidemic across the U.S. Many people can not tell the difference between the flu and a cold. Parents everywhere are sending their children to school sick. At the begging of an outbreak only 30% of people have initially had a flu. 15% percent of patients never even had the flu. Parents need to be more careful sending their sick children to school; it is only making it worst for the other kids. This effect’s my community because I need to be more carful and not get sick because it could end up be something more serious then you think.

This doesnt personally effect me, but it does my older sister, and a lot of my friends. Tanning beds have become a huge hit among teen girls, some boys. But, we should all be aware at the dangers of them. The more times you go tanning, and the longer you expose yourself under the tanning lights increase your chances of getting skin cancer or melanoma. Using tanning beds more than 10 times a year made people seven times more likely to develop melanoma than those who dontt use tanning beds as often. This effects me because of how often my sister goes tanning, she normally goes at least 4 times a week, which makes her more likely to develop a skim disease. I've only been to a tanning salon once, and I hated it, and since then, I've never gone again. Doing this research made me really happy that I dont tan ever!

Today I am going to write about a current event very close to us. In Holly, a man was released from a mental institution this week, after being not guilty by reason of insanity after he committed murder in 1997. The woman he killed arrived at his house on August 21, 1997, with flowers and a birthday card in hand. At the time, he believed she was the anti-Christ, and he brutally killed her. He is said to be in a stabilized condition due to the medication he is prescribed. He is not cured, but controlled. This makes me nervous, because there is a good chance that he could relapse and harm someone else. This effects our community, because Holly is close to where we live. I don't think that he would be released if the doctors were sure that he was safe, but mistakes can be made. This is a reason for us to be afraid of the possibility of his relapse. He was also supposed to be taking medication when he killed the woman in 1997. I just wonder if the decision they made was good or poor. Many times when people are released on parole they blend well back into society. However, the police officers seemed very concerned about letting him out, which concerns me as well.
My current event came from the September 22 Oakland press.
Today I read "Five Found Killed in Illinois Home" on CNN. A family was murdered including a 14 and 11 year olds. Thankfully a 3 year old girl lived. They still have no idea who did this and have warned those in the area to stay alert. The thing is, crimes have been commited a lot lately due the economy. Each seem brutal and cruel. This affects everyone and everyone needs to stay alert. In a CVS a half mile from my house a robber stole money using a knife. People are so desperate now and will do anything to put food on the table. It's actually really scary because things just keep getting worse.

While most kids my age, tend to ignore politics and pay little attention to what is going on in the world and with our government these days, I believe that of all the people concerned with politics, teenagers should care the most. This is because our grandparents and our parents will not have to deal with the repercussions caused by the decisions that are made by our political leaders for too much longer. We are young and these decisions will effect us the very most for the rest of our lives. For this very reason, I chose to look into Obama's National Health Insurance Plan. With a nationalized health plan, medical care for all citizens would be paid for by the federal government and doctors and hospitals would be regulated and provided for by the government. Now I don't know about you, but I personally think that part of what makes the U.S. the free country that it is, is the fact that as Americans, we have the freedom to chose which ever hospital/doctor we feel is most suitable for ourselves and our families. Plus the overall quality of health care is put to risk when competition among health services is reduced. Not to mention that although it is very unfortunate that not every American is lucky enough to afford health insurance, it is not justifiable for the already hard working citizens to have to pay even more taxes to the federal government. Furthermore, I think that teenagers need to pay more attention to huge government debates like Obama’s Health Care Plan, because it will effect our lives and the lives of every other American.

My current event affects everyone in our state along with 26 others. Today, the House of Representatives approved a bill that reprieves the unemployed in all of 27 states for 13 more weeks. Without the passage of this bill, it would put over 1 million workers before the end of this year unemployed and causing them and their families to live on barely anything and make it harder to make ends meet. The passage of this bill has both positive and negative feedback. It helps the unemployed families greatly but still makes the others pay more for this fund. My dad for example is angry this bill was passed becauase,"I have to pay for this stuff for 13 more weeks." I'm sure others have this same reaction.

Today, scientist found something intriguing about Staurn's rings. Apeareantly, these rings, which were once thought to be relatively thin, have been found to be jus tthe opposite in some paces. NASA's Cassini spacecrafts show us not that there are, "bright streaks from clouds kicked up by the cosmic clash between ring particles and interloping space debris." Some spots remain 30 feet thick or so, but scientists have found that there are spots as thick as the rocky mountains. This is important to us here on earth becasue each day we are getting further and further into discovering what's beyond out earth and on other planets. It also show that we have come a long way in space exploration, and out technology has increased. AFter all, in my opinion all the technology we have on earth has developed from instruments and things used to study space.

Today in the world people are suffering because of job loss. Im my current event i would like to talk about the jobless benefits that are starting to be applied around the world. The workers right now are in imminent danger of losing their unemployment benefits which would get a 13-week reprieve under legislation approved by the House on Tuesday. These bills apply to 27 states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico with unemployment rates of 8.5 percent or higher, would add to the already-record levels of benefits that have been available to the jobless as the country struggles to recover from its prolonged economic malaise.

Over the last week, I was sick, with the common cold. It wasn't just me who was sick though, I realized that a lot of my friends at school were, and people in my classes were also. People don't really think to much of a common cold, but now it could be much more. College students are getting e-mails telling the students that they should bring hand sanitizers, and wash there hands all through out the day, to try and prevent themselves from getting sick. Doctors have predicted that at least half of the United States will come down with the Swine Flu. So it's better to be safe than sorry. Also, they are now coming out with a Swine Flu vaccine, to help fight off the swine flu faster and harder if you do come down with it. It cannot guarantee you won't get it, but it will definitely help. U.S health officials ordered at least up to 250 million doses of the swine flu vaccine. I personally, carry a bottle of hand sanitizer in my back up. I use it at least 5 times a day. Now other people are borrowing my hand sanitizer as well, because they think it's a good idea! The swine flu can be fatal, so health officials are doing everything they can to try and help Americans from becoming ill. Although, with students attending school on a daily basis, illness will definitely be traveling around, so many students will becoming ill in the next few months.

Along with West Virinia, Indiana, Oregon, and North Dakota. influenza-like illness are higher than what is expected during this time of year and have increased for five consecutive weeks now. Twenty-one states are reporting widespread influenza activity at this time. More towards the south. States like Flordia, Geargia, Mississippi, and Arizona are expeirencing the most amounts of swine. I think that this is the most mpotant thing in our country right now and it needs to be taking care of.

A few months ago, a woman with fertility issues had been going to a fertility clinic that implanted an embryo into her in hopes of getting pregnant. The women had had several embryos frozen due to her many miscarriages. A doctor from the clinic called up her husband and said that she was pregnant, but that they transferred the wrong embryos. Due to a mix up in the labeling of the embryos, she received another woman's embryo and the other woman received hers. Things like this aren't supposed to happen, but they do. It has always been tough for large companies to 'every time' label things correctly. Unfortunately, the larger the company is, the tougher it is to keep records organized. While it may almost never happen, that the wrong embryo is transferred to a lady, other things are organized incorrectly, and the consumer almost always pays for this mistake. When you call up your cable company, and you ask them to upgrade your channel package from the "Top 100" to the "Ultimate 300," you expect that you will receive the new channels. It happens often enough that the customer representative forgets to write important information down, and in turn a person doesn't get what they ask for. This has probably happened to us or someone that we know, and it's not uncommon to see errors like these. We are human, and we make mistakes, but we should be as careful as possible when it comes to communication.

A recent study shows the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease is accelerating at a rapid pace, and by next year 35.6 million people around the world will suffer from dementia. This is a 10 percent increase since 2005, that a new report predicts. Incidence of dementia will almost double every 20 years, reaching 65.7 million in 2030 and 115.4 million in 2050, according to the 2009 World Alzheimer Report from Alzheimer's Disease International. The global cost is estimated at $315 billion annually. But the toll dementia takes on patients, caregivers and families is also horrible. Researchers say that something definitly has to be done about this increasing diagnosis. This relates to me not only because i work at a senior center, with most patients suffering from dementia and/or alzheimers disease, but also because it effects so many people and families around us. Whether it is a caregivers, family, friends or the unfortunate person, i would hate to think that when im old me or a close friend will most likely have dementia or alzheimers. So they need to find a cure for this disease thats suffering people around the world.

Cancer is the #1 causwe of death by disease in children under the age of 15. The average age of a child diagnosed with cancer is 6. Those are very sad statistics. A child that has cancer effects a whole community. We need to support the charities that help fight childhood cancer. I have lost family members from the deadly disease of cancer and we owe it to help the children that have this disease. It is important to dedicate as much money and research to help these children.

For my current event i am going to be blogging about General Motors. General Motors has been through some rough times over the last year or so, but they are now picking back up. GM's most recent news is about a adding new shifts in Kansas, Michigan, and Indiana. By doing this GM will help give over 2,400 jobs back to people who are without a job or had to draw unemployment. "The additions come at a time when manufacturers are raising production to restore inventories depleted by the U.S. cash-for- clunkers sales incentive." Most of the people who lostt their jobs when GM had to shut down most US plants for 2 months because they filed for bankruptcy, will get their jobs back. The change in Michigan will be added around the area of Delta township, MI. This will help Michigan get more money flowing not only to all the people who need it, but to the government.

Studies have shown that big drops in heart attacks since smoking bans. On going debates of whether banning smoking in public places is worth it. However two recent studies have shown that there has been a drop in heart attacks. Twenty six percent fewer heart attacks to be exact and that is a huge success. Thirty two states have had some kind of laws with smoking bans, that will help lead to less heart attacks. I think this is a very big part of our every day life. Millions of people smoke and by just banning smoking in public areas it has made a huge change. Any step towards bettering peoples health is a major event. Hopefully people will learn that smoking is very dangerous and we can save lots of lives by just not smoking in public.

For my current even I'm going to talk about General Motors selling Hummer to China's Heavy Industrial Machinery. Besides hurting our economy, there's going to be issues with trade secrets within the auto industry. Also theres going to be issues with the military because they'll be able to replicate our military vehicles. This could cause a huge effect on the way China's military transports it's soldiers in the battlefield. If China decided to use this information against the United States, it could put innocent people in danger by giving them the "know-how" of making the vehicle. It doesn't seem like a good idea to sell something that could potentially be a threat to the country we live in.

The U.S. dollar dropped to a one-year low versus the Euro this week. It fell to $1.4809 per euro yesterday, taking away the allure to having U.S. money. There will be a meeting in Pittsburg tomorrow to call for a reduction in global trade imbalances that could cause further gains in the dollar’s counterparts. This is a direct reflection on how our economy is doing. As we continue in this recession, the value of our dollar is going to go down more and more. I remember when the dollar used to be the most valuable currency in the world, and now it is sadly falling lower than other countries’ money. I am hoping that by the time I am working, the value of the dollar will be going up rather than down, but in times like these, it’s hard to think that will be true. Even though our money value is falling, I still love being an American. Regardless of if we have a lot of money, America is a great country.

I decided to do my current event on an al-Qaida video. The video is about how Barack Hussien Obama's downfall to the musslim word. The video basically talked about how they are glade that Bush is out of office and that they are unhappy that the muslim world is liking Obama. It also talks about how al-qaida is saying that arabs have to be carfull because Americans are comming toward them with a smile and stabbing them in the back with the same dagger forner President Bush used. This video effect not just me but the whole nation because the video is directed about toward not trusting Americans. Personally I don't give a damn what those people over there think of America. I think that because are they really are are coward becuase the have to hide in their caves, sent videos because they are too afraid to meeting with other leaders.

For my current event i would like to choose the wildfire crisis in California. It is an ongoing occurance that keeps on happenening. These fires arent just a small ittle bonfire. They burn at almost 1200 acres per hour. This fire, that started friday morning has made 600 people evacuate their homes. Secondly, something else that scares me is that the fire may come in contact with oil lines along the way. This would be a disaster, as we would lose all of the oil and have much destruction. One thing i want to know is, if we can make things to shoot rockets thousands of miles, make things go in space, but we cannot find a solution that quickly and effectively will put out fires beforee it injures or kills people.

I have decided to do my current event on President Obama and China's action on climate control. Basically, the article talks about the fact that both America and China need to start making progress on climate control because they are the top two contributors to the problem. The UN has yet to reach on a final decision on what to do for the situation. It was expected to be solved by the end of the year, which is not looking as promising as it did. How this effects my life directly is the fact that I am part of this world and live in the same one everyone else does. It is important to keep the planet alive. I think that China and especially America really need to start acting soon because along with Obama, I beleive that taking steps to solve global warming will help boost the economy and make jobs for people. This would then effect the rest of my community and country.

Today former NFL reciever Plaxico Burress entered prison. Burress was sentenced to 2 years in prison this august, On a weapons charge. This was provoct last summer when Burress acidentally shot himself with an unregestard gun in a new york night club last summer. Burress was also sentenced to two years supervision after released with exceptions to move for work. I think it is a damn shame that an athlete that many young adults and children look up blow there job as a positive role model. I am not just saying that Plaxico is to blame. Many sports athletes get arrested for doing stupid shit. However i believe in second chances. If Plaxico can pull his shit together regroup and go through the proper steps to becoming an athlete again more power to him. I hope him the best in jail and hope he will change his ways in the future.
