Integrity is what you do when no one is watching. Through all the times i've been to midcourse (boot camp) its taught me a couple things and integrity is one. You can do something and think someone is'nt looking but some how someone always see's you. There are alway consequences for your actions wether it be push ups with D.I.'s yelling at you or maybe its just getting grounded.but what ever it is you deal with it and move on.

This is a great quote, because it speaks the truth and if you are a person who honestly thinks this quote is a good representation of yourself than i give you cudos because it takes a big person to admit if they are not like this quote. Im sure that everybody at one point in there life has cheated on something wheather it was on a person or even a math exam, you have done it before. And as we grow older i think that we need to take this quote to heart simply because there is always a consequence for your actions and it may be good or may be bad, and i know that most people would not want to take a chance like that. I really think that this quote directly effects me personally because im not going to lie, i messed up and failed a class but the point that i was trying to make myself is that i want to pass by myself. Im going to be honest i could have cheated on my test but i was going to be the bigger person and pass honestly or fail trying. Integrity isn't something that changes. It's who you are inside. If you are a truthful and trustworthy person then that's who you are. It dosen't change like the weather does. In this quote John D. MacDonald is saying that you are either born with integrity or you aren't. To me integrity means how honest you are, not only to other people, but to yourself. To have integrity is to have a drive to be able to do anything without cutting the corners and cheating yourself or others. I think integrity helps you make decisions. If you have integrity you'll make better decisions in life over someone who has little or no integrity. Also, having integrity gives you an edge over someone who doesn't. Whether it be job related or sports related, or whatever. Integrity is who you are as a human being and speaks a lot about your character. I like to think that I have integrity.
To me the quote is saying that your integrity is always the same, no exceptions. This relates to the novel "Lord of the Flies" because the boys integrity will change throughout the novel. As of right now they are still for the most part civilized, but that will take a drastic turn. Everyone would like to think that they wouldnt cheat, steal, or kill in that situation but the truth is they might. When youre in a situation like the boys are your survival instincts kick in and its everyone for themselves. So, i think the book contradicts the quote. The boys know its wrong to kill, afterall theyre proper english boys. However, later in the novel they end up killing one of their own. I dont think your intergity can change on a daily basis. But, when put in a new, and desperate situation like in the novel, it could change drastically.

Integrity means your trustworthy, honest and do what you say you will. If someone that is trustworthy and they promise you something they will make sure that promise comes true. I think most people learn to be tustworthy after they get caught doing something they know their not suppose to. You have to really believe and try your hardest to be trustworthy and willing to do what you tell someone you will do. I always try to be trustworthy about everything.

There are some people out there, who will act differently, because they want to be accepted by the in crowd. People who do that, have no integrity. However, people who do have integrity are themselves 24/7. They dont care what other people think. Like Mr. Kay, and Mr. Pouliot. They both have integrity. They are gonna be themselves 24/7. They arent going to act differently because they want to be accepted by some group. they know, that they people who are truly their friends will except them for who they are. I really dont know to respond to this. But, I think it means believing in yourself, and what you think you can do. Its like, trying somenthing you dont think you can do, and trying your hardest. Seeing yourself as what you want to be, its what you will become. Integrity is all about believing in yourself, and what you can do. I know from experiance, the consequences of doing something bad, and it was because I, at the time, didn't believe in myself as a good person, and my whole perspective of life has changed. You realllllly just have to believe in yourself.

Well i think of of it as being responsible for your actions and being honest. i think that this quote is tryng to tell us that we need to look at our inner picture and start noticing who that inner you is. You should be honest with people as well as yourself anf if you have integrity your willing to let that inner you come out more offten instead of hidding it, and only letting the you that impresses people come out. I like this quote becuase integrity really dose show who you are as a person. Your integrity never chages on its own, you must be the one to realize your fualts and correct them. You and only you can control what it is, if feel the need to be an ass then that just who you are unless you change that. I see myself as a pretty out going and cheerful person, but at times I can be a dick for no reason at all, I don't realize it and it is never my intention to do so. It is my inner scorpio, which means I can be a really nice person but if you piss me off I can be very vengful and ruin your day. I have never cheated on anyone, on a test or anything that I did not acheieve on my own, i'm a pretty honest person but I have my faults as well. I'll ocasionally make up a little white lie to get myself out of trouble, but honestly who doesn't.

For example, If I am the only one on a dirt road and the speed limit is only 25 mph and i go 25 mph it show that I have integrity. This show i have integrity because even though there wasn't a cop on the road I still followed the law. Integrity show that you are an honest and that you are trustworthy. It shows that you will do the right thing even though others may not do the right thing. I believe that if you do the right thing most of the time. I feel that way because nobody is perfect and every one makes a mistake now and again.

Integrity is like honesty. Integrity means who you are and how you act, no matter the circumstances. Integrity isn't just there when you want it, either you have it or you don't. If you are not afraid to lie about something once, what will stop you the next time? Integrity can also mean trustworthy. It's a important charecteristic.When you say you're going to do something, people should believe you. All in all integrity is something you have or you don't, its all upon yourself.
If you have integrity, you are morally sound and know what is wrong and what is right. You choose to do the right thing even if nobody is watching. Just because someone is not going to pat you on the back for doing the right thing, you still do it because it is just in the nature of you. I have been working on taking a step back from my life and trying to see what I've done that was just plain stupid. I find this quote to be very wise. I agree with this quote. While I believe that integrity can be viewed in many different ways, I find that it is the basis of who we are. How people live their lives an dhow they influence others, depends on their personal integrity. The way you differenciate right from wrong and what your morals is integrity. People need to establish their own set of beliefs and hold true to making a promise to themselves to keep it. Personally, I believe that i have high integrity and i live my life by making the right decisions based on my morals. I think that the world would be a better place if everyone had high integrity and knew who they were inside. I really like this quote. I think its saying is that a person with integrity will follow his morals. and there are no if's or but's about what it is. That you have your own integrity with in you and you can decide the extent you want to keep that integrity to. Its saying that who you are wont bend and change in the circumstances of life. But if a man is not born with intergrity and cheats, or doesnt cheat then he wont be confident in his actions and decisions. This relates to Ralph and being a leader, because he sees integrity in most people and in himself he just needs a chance to show it. Some characters have more integrity than Ralph does but they arent too confident in their actions.

I feel that this quote means that integrity in a person cannot waver because a person has it or they don’t. Integrity also does not come and go on your mood or how you feel. I know a person that has strong integrity, it is my dad. My dad is strong as a dad and at his previous job. Dad knows what would work and what will not in cars. He also would tell people what they were doing was impossible, and then two years later they find out that he was right. He was vary reliable at his job, instead of the guys that would make up stuff that would never work just to please the boss. My dad has integrity that will never waver and I will strive to have that type of integrity in my life.

This is a profound quote, although I disagree. As there are varying degrees of evil, there are varying degrees of integrity. Some people would say helping an old lady across the street shows integrity, whereas others would say refusing payment for such is true integrity. Integrity can be bent, as all rules to self, but only righteous people bend it for the right reasons. Would you cheat on a big test if you promised to study the material after? Your integrity could be based on your self-esteem, the things that have happened to you in life, or even just the mood your in at the time. It could effect the way you do your job, how well you do in school, or even just the way you act. I think if you as a person have alot of integrity then you will go far in life. In my mind integrity and perserverance go hand in hand, and if you have alot of it then your setting yourself up to be quite successful.
