Day 10
Define, again, the idea of discrimination. Give me examples of discrimination in the world. Give me an example of discrimination that has occured in your life and how it made you feel. Give an example of a time you have discriminated against others. Why? How did it make you feel? How do you think it made the other person feel? Did you care? Why or why not? Finally, why do you think we accept discrimination in our society?

Discrimination is how people are put into groups. In the world people are discriminated by political beliefs, race, sex, opinions, or your actions. I have been discriminated in a way when someone though i couldnt do something just because im a girl. Another time is when i had a party and i invied a black person, some people thought itd be funny to say they wouldnt come in till the black person was gone, which was so rude. Both incidents made me upset and kinda pissed off. It had to make the other people feel bad as well. I did care because were allowed to be friends with who we want and it was my house. In the other incident being a girl doesnt affect your ability and you should have they same opportunitys as men. I think we accept discrimination in our society because its what people have learned to accept, when nothing is done about something for so long, it just continues to happen. Also, if one person decides to discriminate about something theres always followers who choose to make the same dumb decision.
Discrimination is when a person or a group of people are being judged. There are many different kinds of discrimination in the world today. One would be discrmination against different ethnic groups such as african americans, and mexicans. Another kind of discrimination is discrmination against homosexuals. A type of discrimination that occured in my life was when people made fun of me because i'm short. At first I felt a little upset when people made fun of me, but a later realized that I really like being short, and I don't care about what other people think. I discriminated against people who weren't very smart when I was younger. I did this because I didn't really understand why people didn't get good grades. I felt really bad after discriminating against people who didn't get good grades. I bet the other people felt really bad when I made fun of them. I did care after I realized they were so upset about it. I realized that some people just can't get good grades even though they try really hard. I think that we accept discrimination in our society because the older generations accepted it. The discrimination just carried down from generation to generation. If someone older tells you that discrimination is okay, then some people are going to actually listen to them, and start discriminating themselves.

The idea of discrimination is the idea of jugding people on their flaws or what they do what religon they are. You can basically discriminte about anything. One time a kid in class through a penny down hoping that Marc would pick it up. At first i laughed but then i felt sorry for Marc and thought how does Marc feel about that. I think he puts up with a lot of things in school but also dishes out his fair share. I have discriminated against black people. I thought that this gas station was going to get robbed so i left. I don't know why i did it i was just scared. It made me laugh. I don't know how the person felt cuz i was to busy leaving. I really didnt care. We accept discrimination becuase it is wat made our country wat it is today.

Discrimination is a term referring to treatment taken toward or against a person of a certain group based on class or category. Examples of discrimination would be: race discrimination, age discrimination, gender discrimination, employement discrimination, and disability discrimination. I was discriminated against when I was young by some of the neighborhood kids. I was discriminated against by some of the kids in our neighborhood. They discriminated against me because I was smaller. It made me very angry when they discriminated against me. I don't think the other kids felt bad, they felt it was ok to not include me. A time that I discrimated against another person is not allowing the girls to play cards with us. I didn't want them to play because I felt we were better at cards then they were. I think that made them feel bad when we thought that we were better than them. I didn't care at the time because I didn't take into account their feelings. Discrimination in our society is accepted because people have a hard time accepting that people are different. It's easier to place people in categories and then decide if that person fits into what you believe in.
I believe that the idea of discrimination is when you look down upon someone just because maybe they have a different skin color or their a different gender. An example of how discrimination has altered my life is when i saw a few of my friends pick on some Arab kid when we were at lunch. I didnt really recognize what was going on but now that i think about it, i feel kinda bad for not stepping in. Well everytime i go down to Tigers games, i always get paranoid. I always think that "this is the time im going to get robbed." Whenever i see a group of black people or homeless people i always put my guard up and im always prepared to fight back. I do this simply just to protect myself. We accept discrimination i think because it keeps the world sane. What i mean by that is if we do around liking each other and always being nice to one another it just doesnt seem right. I think that we discriminate just to keep balance in this world.

Discrimination is when you treat someone differently then others in a negative way. Discrimination happens all the time all over the world. People that are a different race, different religions, or maybe not having the latest fashion can be discriminated against others. I have been discriminated as the innocent one that won’t do anything and that I’m the “good” one. Yes, that’s kind of a good thing, but now my friends leave me out of things because of it and I really don’t like it. Even though I hate the feeling of being left out or being discriminated, I still do it myself. I think that discrimination due to age happens all the time. I discriminate against all of my brothers younger friends. They always want to hang out with the older kids when we do team gatherings. They think they are all that and the older kids don’t accept that nor go along with it. We completely leave them out and we make fun of them all the time. In this circumstance, I don’t feel bad for what we did because they all deserved it. These actions just made the boys act more annoying. Personally, I didn’t care a bit. If they are going to act like stupid and even younger then their age, then they get treated that way. I think we accept discrimination in our society because it will never go away.

Discrimination is judging people or coming to conclusions about people based on their race or age or the way they look. All teenagers get discriminated against when they are told they cant do something based on the fact that they are a teenager. It happens all the time in the workforce teens are told they cant have certain jobs when in reality they could do those jobs just as well if not better than the adults doing them now. Stereotypes are also forms of discrimination. There are alot of stereotypes floating around such as mexicans being good at yard work or jewish people being really greedy. Everybody gets discriminated against every once in a while and just because its not right dosent mean it will change. I believe its just one of those things that will always be around.

Discrimination is a judgment against a person or a certain group of people. Discrimination happens everyday in the world, against a certain race, religion, political standpoint, gender, or opinion. The main way I have experienced discrimination is due to my gender. So many people have told me that I can't do anything better than a guy, and that my main purpose in life to be a stereotypical housewife. This gets me frustrated when people tell me that I can't do something because I am a girl. I find myself being discriminatory against people that have different opinions than me. I occasionally find myself acting mean towards people who aren't like me, which I am sure upsets that person, because when this has happened to me I have gotten upset. After, it made me mad with myself for being rude to someone just because of their opinion, and I try to make amends with that person. I think that we accept discrimination in our society because it occurs so often. Because we see it happen everyday, we think that discrimination is normal and acceptable, which its not.
Discrimination is like when you put people into groups. This can be by hair color social class andything really. A discrimination that happened in my life is when people call me short. At first i never liked being called short but now i dont really care. Being short is part of who i am so i dont care anymore. I Thik in the world today we accept discrimination because its just in our nature. Discrimintaion has been around for a long time. I think people have just learned that its a way of life and everyone does it.

Discrimination is defined as being judged and being compared to other things. People have been discriminated since the early days. An example of discrimination could be not allowing a student or employee the time away from class or work to observe a religious holiday. Another example could also be not allowing a person a job because of age, ethnicity, and even religion. A time where i have discriminated another was when i was hangin with my friend and his friend. I didn't realize what i said was offensive until my friend told me he was jewish. His friend laughed and didn't mind it because he gets a lot of shit for it. I felt a little bad for saying it but according to him it wasn't that big of a deal. I think we accept discrimination in our society today because its been around for a long time and still to this day we haven't broke the habit
Discrimination is how a person or group of people are judged. Discrimination can be by race, gender, opinions, and political standpoints. I have never been dicriminated before. A time I hae discriminated was when I was lttle I always thought that guys were better at sports. I felt like that because it was how I always thought. I dont really care because it wasnt a big deal, now that I know guys arent better at sports than girls. I think that our society accepts discrimination because our society is full of followers. Once someone starts discrimination other will think, some people are raised as a kid to dicriminate.

To me discrimination is people who are different from other people, who stand out and are in put into groups. It is either for or against the group. Ive been discriminated against my height. It doesn't really bother me because I know their is nothing I can really do about it. I don't really discriminate against people. I'm the type of person to take you for who you are. I don't look at your color of your skin, height, hair color or anything. I know their is an instance where I did discriminate but I know it wasn't on purpose. I bet I made the person feel bad about their self, because I know when people make fun of me about things it hurts my feelings. It makes you wish you could change yourself. I don't like that feeling so I don't like making other people feel like that. I think we just ignore discrimination all together. Their is nothing we can really do about it. Its peoples opinions and its a free country. Yes, we may not always agree with everyone but everyone has their own opinion.
Discrimination, simply put is making fun of someone because they are different, or pointing out the differences. Everyone is different. An example that has occured in my life was during my 2nd to last year on little league football. We had 2 african american kids on our team, and we were playing against livonia. The refs at the game were so favored against the black kids on our team, that it eventually led to us losing the game. One of them even ended up crying during the game, because he felt he was being treated so unfairly. I dont really discriminate against others. I seriously try not to. I dont like cliques, and i have friends from every group. Yeah, sure ive made fun of people joking around, but ive never seriously discriminated against someone. I think when someone is discriminated against, they either feel like shit, or dont care at all. I think it should be the second way. You shouldnt care at all what people think about you. I dont think we "accept" discrimination in our society, but i just think there is no way to stop it. There will never be any law or consequence that will stop people from discriminating against one another. It is just natural human behavior, and it sucks.
Discrimination is closely related to the idea of stereotypes. It is when indiviuals are looked down upon crudely based on judgements. These judgements are assosiated with stereotypes, which are groups that people become classsified in due to prejudice, intolerance and bias differences such as age, wealth, gender and race. An example of descimination through which I have been faced with would have to be when I was going to a Tiger's game in Detroit and an African American man laughed at me when I tripped on the curb. He said that "All white girls are the same! Pretty, but dumb as a rock!" I laughed when he first said it o but then I thought about it more and it actually hurt my feelings a little. Yeah, I can be clumsy but he shouldn't have the right to descriminate against me based on my gender and my race. An example of when I descriminated against someone else was when I assumed my older grandma was not a reliable person to go to for advice, because she is old and I figured she wouldn't understand. It turns out my grandma is a great listener and gives really good advice. I guess I shouldn't have judged her based on her age and I felt sorta stupid for judging her in the first place. She said that she wasn't surprised that I suspected her of not understanding my situation because when she was my age, she would have figured the same thing. I did care because it made me realize that descrimination happens all the time and that it is not only between races and the color of your skin. We accept descimination in our society because that is how it has always been. It will take an entire generation to truly take a stand if they really want to stop discrimination in society.
Discrimination is judging people by what they are and what u dont like about them, not who they are as a person. People are discriminated by race, color, religion, opinions, and even what culture their from. I was discriminated once by our neighbors when i lived in novi. They had a very big house, and were very wealthy, had 4 cars, and had a lot of money, we had a one stroy house, with 2 old vehicles, and were just getting by with what we had. They banned us from trick or treating their when i was a kid, and even put a fence up between our houses to keep us out of their sight. This made me feel upset because my parents were embarresed and felt like they werent good enough. But a time i discriminated agianst someone, was when i waas really young, my friend was picking on my little bro and he kept calling him names. one day when he tried to hit him, i pushed him back and made fun of his religoin because he was Jahovas witness. After i siad that, i felt really bad and apologized the next day. but i still feel upset about what i did. i made him feel bad and i suppose it made him not feel like he didnt fit in. But fter i said that, i cared about how i treated him, and gave him an apology. I think we accept discrimination today because we have so much diversity, its easy to judge someone with out feeling like it matters, when it does.
Discrimination is when you judge someone on an aspect of their life. Three examples are discrimnating against someone based on their race, sex, or religion. Someone discriminated against me because I was a girl. When I was in elementry school, I was really good at soccer. When me and some of my friends joined the guys in a soccer game at recess one time they thought we would hold them back. However, one of my friends and I ended up playing really well and proved them wrong. I didn't mind it because we showed them that we were just as good. Also, it was fun seeing their faces when we scored on them. I think we accept it because we all do it. There is not really a way for any of us to never discriminate.

Descrimination is when someone looks down on or sees you as different because of something other than who you are as a human being. For example, your skin color, your financial situation, how you dress, or what activities you do. Also, there is sexist descrimination. An example of this would be when a boy got a job over me simply because he was male. We had the same cridentials the only defference was our sex. It made me feel really bad. An example of when i have descriminated against others would be like when i lock my doors while driving through Pontiac of Detroit. The stereotypical african american makes people, like me, fear other African americans in that area. It makes me feel bad because i am judging them without knowing anything about them. Im sure it made people feel bad when they are descriminated against and people fear them just because of their skin color. I do care because i dont want to be te cause of someone feeling bad about themselves. I think we accept discrimination in our society because it is part of human nature and its been around for so long.
I define discrimination as treating people unfairly usually about race, ethnicity, age, religion, or gender. Some examples of discrimination in the world are back in the 1950s or 60s when people treated African Americans differently from whites. Or when Hitler discriminated against pretty much all ethnicities. A time when someone discriminated against me is in gym class, guys used to say that girls cant play sports and didnt let me and my friends play basketball with them. This made me really mad, because girls can play sports and shouldnt be thought of less strong then guys. A time when i discriminated against someone is everytime i go to Detroit or big cities and i see homeless people on the street, i automatically assume their bad people and want to rob me. I do this because they dont look too friendly, so i just leave them alone. It sometimes makes me feel bad, because they could end up being really good people, but i just judge them based on their appearence. I think i do care. I dont think its right to discriminate against other based on looks. Its not fair to people, and i know how it makes me feel, so i will try and not discriminate against others. I think we accept discrimination in our society because from generation to generation our society has gotten better at accepting everyone. Although there are still quite a few people who are still discrimanatory against people, i think in 10 or so years, there will be no discrimination.
Discrimination is towards one person or a particular group of people. One discrimination from the world would be Muslims. Most people in the U.S. and surrounding countries do not like them nearly as much. This discrimination comes from 9/11. Another discrimination from some of Americans goes towards African Americans. This has been happening ever sense the slavery period. One time I was discriminated was when I went into Detroit with my dad. It seemed everywhere you went people did not like you, would whisper behind your back and more. I know some African American people don't like white folks just as some of us don't like them. I felt a bit out of place and honestly hated.
Discrimination is how people are categorized in life. This can be based on religion, gender, beliefs, opinions, your friends, your clothes, etc. This hasn't happened to me a whole lot but it has a few times. An example was when I was younger and I wore skateboarding shoes. Everything characterized me as 'a skater' when I really wasn't. I didnt really care that much because it was just shoes and I only wore them because I liked them. A time when I discriminated was when I was younger. We played a soccer team that was all boys and one girl. I didnt think girls could be good at sports when I was that young. I didnt take them seriously I guess. I try not to discriminate because I try to keep an open mind. People would probably feel pretty crappy being discriminated against. I dont think our society necessarily "accepts" discrimination, but there's nothing that can be done about it. There is always going to be parents who teach their kids to discriminate against certain people which is why this is a continuing cycle.

Discrimination is where people are basically catergorized into labled groups. Examples of discrimination in the world is gender, beliefs, race, religion, opinions, actions, and weight. I tend to ask alot of questions in general. Some people get really annoyed by it, but it is helping me to the advantage, especially in school. Sometimes I tend to discriminate people by who they hang out with. If they hang out with someone who is a mean person I assume they are mean too. Sometimes I am wrong about it. I have recently found out that one of my best friends hates fat people. I was kinda shocked to hear her say it because I considered her one of my friends who accepted alot of people and who is very nice. She would never say that to an over-weight persons face, but people get hurt when they find out that someone doesn't like them because of their size. I think that we accept discrimination in the world today because thats what we alwasy have done. The world has a bunch of followers and therefore, there isn't many changes over discrimination today.
Discrimination to me means that based on the way you look, your race, gender, etc you are judged to be something you probably aren't. An example of discrimination in our world today is how us girls dress. If we wear a cute outfit, we still are called names that don't refer to our personalities at all. I don't need to name them in order for you to know what I'm talking about either. An example of discrimination that has happened in my life was at the rolladium. My friends and I went roller skating just to have some fun. To be blunt about this situation there were a lot of african americans there. We got death stares and actually harrassed because we were white. This made me feel annoyed and upset because I didn't say or do anything to anyone there. So why was I being treated like that for no reason? A time when I discriminated against others was my 8th grade year on the volleyball team. At one of our scrimages there wasn't enough players on the Oak Valley team, so we had to give some of our girls over to the other team. I didn't like most of the girls from Oak Valley that I knew, so I didn't want to participate with any of the other people on their team either. This made me feel mad and distant. I'm sure it made the other people feel that I didnt like them. I honestly didn't care because I was ignorant at the time and didn't realize how I was treating everyone else. I think we accept discrimination in our society today because were so used to how people treat eachother. They negative behavior towards others are a common habit and no one does anything about it.
Discrimination is how people are judged and how we decide if we want to talk to them or not. Discrimination in the world is about gay people, and how people don't like them just because of who they are. I honestly don't remember a time where I was being discriminated against. A time I have was when I was at a museum and this guy was dressed like a girl. I knew it was wrong but I just couldn't help it. I feel really bad about it now, and it was the wrong thing to do. Yes, I do think we accept it in our society even though we don't want to. It happens in everyday life, and that's just how most people are. But we get over it.

Discrimination is making fun of or putting people into a certian groups because of their religion, color, race, and so on. I have been discriminated before. I was put into the category of gangster just because of the way I looked and dressed. Which is funny because I'm far from being a gangster. I have discriminated against others jokingly before. I have made jokes about blondes saying that they are stupid and naive. I've made jokes about black people before too. At those times I admittedly didn't think much of it. I just thought they were funny it was a way to make people laugh. Now I see that some of them weren't the nicest jokes out there. I believe that we accept discrimination in our society because we are so used to it that, sometimes, we don't even realize we're doing it.
James Richardson
3rd hour
Discrimination is the judgement of someone based on stereotypes. To discriminate against someone would be like seeing someone dressed in all black and automatically classify them as gothic. Also, seeing someone who wears tight oants and classifying them as gay. I am often discriminated against because of my weight. People see me, and automatically make fun of me, instead of trying to get to know me. I have to say, it doesnt feel good. I am sure I have discriminated against other people. For example, with intelligence. I consider myself a fairly smart individual. Sometimes, I look down on people because I think they arent as smart. People have confronted me before, and have told me how they felt about it. Afterwards, I felt horrible because I was doing to others what has been done to me. I honestly cant tell you why we accept discrimination in our society. What I can tell you, is that it is not fair and it should not be tolerated. That being said, if it is ever going to stop it is going to take all of us.
Discrimination is when a person or a group of people are being judged. There are many different ways that we discriminate people. Some are by age, sex, race, and political views. I am a very judgmental person. I know this because people tell me all the time. I don’t mean to be I just do it. I don’t do it to be mean or to make someone feel bad. I just tell it how it is or how I see it. I have thought about how it makes others feel. Sometimes ill catch myself before I say something but most of the time I don’t and just say it. After I say things I feel bad about it and think that the person must be very embarrassed and then I feel really bad. I do care about how the other person feels and like I said I don’t mean it to be mean. I think that accept discrimination because it makes us as a person feel higher than others. That there are others that have it worse than us and if we point that out in others we willl feel better. It’s a bad way to look at things but we do it any way.
Finally, why do you think we accept discrimination in our society?
discrimination is how we place people into groups other than our norm. Its almost like singling a group out. Our world is full of discrimination, in schools, cities, restaurants, and jobs. This discrimination isnt only racial, or rlgious, sometimes sexual. One time, in my life i saw discrimination in the one spot in my life i go to all the time. The ice rink, during a game some kids from another team went into our locker room and wrote Nig*** on the wall for when we came back in. The african american on our team was hurt. This made me feel very bad, the next time we played them we got even. In my life i once descriminated against a homosexual man. I saw him coming at a garage sale, right at the time we closed and i quickly told him sorry its closed. Personally, i felt bad inside after it happened because i knew that was a jerk move. I think at the time the person just thought i was a dick, i dont think i did it because i could tell he was a homosexual. I think people accept discrimination because of ignorance. They think they are either cool, or funny. I belive that many also hav grown up in it, like my grandfather.
Discrimination is the judgin of someone based on who they are, or how they look, or what they do. An example of discrimination in my life is the discrimination against nerds and people who are smart. I would probably fall into that cateogry if you ask most people. I don't feel very good when people do this because yeah I get good grades and I like being admired for them, but there is more to me thatn just my grades. A time when I discriminate against others is if I see a fat person. I guess I feel that most of the time it's their fault and why would they let themselves go like that. In the moment, I don't think about if they have medical problems or a low metabolism. However, notheless, I don't think they feel very good about it, even if I don't say it right to their face. At the time, I do not care, but afterwards I feel bad. I Think we accept discrimination in our society because everyone does it, whether you realize it or not. I think, deep inside, no one wants to be a hipocrit, so they don't enforce it and therefore they tend to accept it more.
Discrimination is treating people negatively based on a group they are in. An example of discrimination in the world is when handicapped are not given jobs due to their disabilities. Also, there is discrimination based on sex and race still today. I know a place that doesn't like to hire girls because they are viewed as a distraction, so they only have a couple females and the rest of the employees are men. An example of discrimination in my life is when I went into a store to help out my brother and get him something. I had never been in the store, and I apparently didn't fit in very well because I wasn't wearing what everyone else in the store liked. I got a few dirty looks from people and people wouldn't move as easily for me because I didn't look like everyone else in the store. I think a time I have discriminated against others is at pom tryouts one year. We had a really wide range of girls try out, and some of them were a lot larger than the girls on our team. I figured they didn't have as much potential as the thinner girls, so I didn't help out the larger girls as much the first day. I started to realize that many of the other pom teams we compete against have larger girls and that they can pom just as well as thinner girls. I felt bad and was open to helping out everyone the next day. I'm not sure if the girls noticed, but if they had known I didn't think as much of them, they would have been really hurt. I do care because if I don't want others to discriminate against me for what I look like, I shouldn't do it to others. I think we accept discrimination in our society because we have grown up surrounded by it. As humans, we seem to allow ourselves to discriminate against others rather than realizing our own faults and doing something about it. I shouldn't discriminate against others, because I have plenty of my own problems that need to be changed.
Discrimination is when a person is judged by another. There are so many diffrent kinds of discrimination in the world today. One would be discrimination against race. One type of discriminamtion that occured in my life is when people classify me as a stoner. At first i hated being called a stoner but i realized its my fault any way. But today when im called a stoner i just laugh and say to bad i cant smoke weed i only smoke legal buds. I guess i discriminate against Jewish people, because they dont practice the same religion as me. It doesnt make me feel bad because every one discriminates against someone right?
The idea of discrimination refers to how we view others, and in what way. Discrimination in the world could be a negative thought or feeling toward a certain race. An example of discrimination in my life would be me playing soccer. I used to get made fun of a lot for being a "foot fairy" but I didnt think much of it. I was discriminated for playing a sport, which to me, isnt something that deserves discrimination. A time when I discriminated against someone else was when I saw an asain news reporter. I was upset cause asains are everywhere now, and their slowly taking over. I discrimative toward asains because im pissed their so good at everything. I think we accept discrimination in society because everyone looks at someone else to complain at. Everyone wants to blame everyone but themselves and try to make themselves look innocent and free from fault.
deets
discrimination makes ppl feel left out like they dont belong with others. last i remember of discrimination in my life it was nothing serous just like in elemaentary school i was left out of kickball and i felt like the other kids felt like i wasnt good enough to play or somthing, and i felt well left outthis is the only form of discrimination that i remember happend to me im sure theres more tho...
i define discrimination as putting down minority groups. people are discriminated by their skin color, their religious beliefs, thrier agan, or even how people dress. discrimination in my life is age, elders discriminate me just becasue im a teenager, they put me in the "typical teenager catigory" thinking ill never amount to anything. It makes you feel crappy and inferior. ive discriminate people by the way they look and dress, i did it casue im judgemental and its not rightt. Im sure it made people feel the same way i did crappy. I didnt really care, becasue it wasnt happening to me. i think we accept discrimination in society because everyone is afraid to stick up for themself. Also no one wants to stand up for whats right.
my idea of discrimination is when people base other people on how they look, and put them into certain groups. usually when there are fights or something like that and a black person is involved, it seems like the black person is said to be the instigator even when all signs lead to the other person. or they have harsher punishment. Whenever me and my friends go to the mall the people that work their are always stareing at us, just waiting for us to steal something. Its so annoying that they just sterotype us because we're teens, and we're gonna steal something. When in reality i probably make more money babysitting than they do working at those stores. I usually don't pay attention to it, or just to make them feel like complete idiots i'll buy something expensive. discrimanation is and everyday thing in our life, something that we have had to come to accept whether we want to. No matter how much we don't want it and try anad fight it, discrimination will always exist.
Discrimination is when someone or a group of people either judge each other, or other people around them. Unfortunately, in the world today there are still many forms of discrimination. For example, people still discriminate against African Americans. In some places they are still treated differently because of their skin color. When this happens I always feel very sad for that person. They have done nothing wrong to be treated that way, and there's nothing they can do about it. If they were to stand up for themselves they would just get in trouble for speaking against them, In some situations there is no win win, so they just have to keep their mouths shut. When I was younger I used to discriminate against the kids who were considered the trouble makers. Who would never do their work, be rude to the teachers, never passed the classes. I thought they were trouble, becayse of what they didn't do. However, there could be many different reasons to why the student acts out like that. Although, then I didn't realize this, so I usually wouldn't talk to them when they would try and talk to me. Now, I feel really bad about this. I shouldn't have treated them like that, I should of just been kind like I am to everyone else. They are no different from me. I think this made the other person feel kind of rejected, and not worthy enough to talk to me. This is because of the way I was acting, I didn't talk to them, so they must have thought, I thought I was to good for them, which would make them feel bad. When I realized that this was wrong, yes, I cared very much. Now, I', always nice to everyone, unless they give me a reason not to be. I believe that we accept discrimination because that's what was considered right back in the day. Our ancestors didn't associate with them because they were told it wasn't right to. Ever since discrimination was first created, it has been passed down from one person to another, and hopefully one day it will stop.

Discrimination is having a prejudice towards or looking down on something or people. An example of discrimination is when there is somebody that just doesn't like you for no reason. I think this has happened to all of us where we look up and theres someone giving a dirty look. Some of the time I have never even talked to the person and they're not liking me just because I'm me. It made me feel bad because I did nothing to them and they just hated me for no reason. A time when I discriminated against others is when I made a false perception of someone based on what I had heard and I didn't care for that person all that much. Then I actually got to know the person and I found out that the truth was so much different than I thought. It made me feel bad afterwards because I had listened to what I heard and made judgements without giving them a chance first. It probably confused the other person because I had a bad attitude towards them. I did care after because I realized I was wrong. We accept discrimination in out society because people will get caught up in things and believe everything that they hear. SOmetimes we need someone to blame problems on and other times it is just a good story and no one does anything to stop it.
Descrimination is when people seperate different people, and think that they cant do as much as they themselves can do. Examples of descrimination that have occured in my life, were in football, because i wasn't built muscularly, other players didnt think i was a good football player. It made me feel mad, and really motivated me to do something about it, and I think it played a small part of how my personality is shaped, because it made me push myself harder than ive ever pushed myself before. It also made me stick up for myself more and built my confidence alot since then. I think it made the other person feel good because everyone else agreed with them, and laughed when theyd make a joke or something. I kind've cared, but at the same time i didnt care when they thought, i just realized that i wanted to be a better person, and somehow make it so that they didnt want to try messing with me, or doing whatever they were doing to me again. I think that we accept descrimination in our society because it makes others seem more popular, and more powerful. An example would be president Obama. Im not saying that McCain wasn't a bad president, but he couldnt promise as much as Obama did and Obama had evidence and more proof that McCain had to back up his promises. I know they all do that but he still have more work done that McCain had. And yet people were still willing to vote for McCain because he wasn't an African American.
My defination of descrimination would be not allowing someone to do something because of their beliefs, race, or gender. An example of discrimination that has happened to me in my life is that the school only locks the mens bathroom by the library. I was standing at my buddy's locker talking to him when I went to use that bathroom and it was locked. On my way walking to my class I see some girl come out of the womens bathroom. Why isn't that one locked too? It made me feel very angry. I have discriminated againest others when when ever I have to Bass Pro shops in Great Lakes Crossing I won't drive through Pontiac. If I do I will roll up my windows, if it hot out, and lock the door. It really doesn't make anyone feel bad, besides myself because I fell the need to do this, that I know of because only myself and the person in the car with me knows. I think that we accept discrimination in our society because everyone does it. It isn't like only one group of people do it.
Discrimination is when a group of people are judged. There are many different categories for discrimination. One is relegion. Some more are ethnic groups, belifs, and race. An example a group of people being discriminated against are African Americans. I have been discriminated against before. Some people discriminate against me because I am quite. It doesn't really bother me that much because it is my choice to be quite. I think we accept discrimination in our society because it has been around for so long. You grow up in a society where people are discriminating everything and, I guess, you get used to it.
Discrimination is how we put people into certain groups. Such groups as sex, race, beliefs, religion, options, actions. Ive discriminated people for just being themselfs. For the people they talk to or what they wear. Its just a thing that happens to everyone. It doesn't really feel good to be discriminated against someone else. i feel like its really rude. I'm sure other people feel the same way when this happens to them. I think we accept it because we all have a freedom of speech to say what we want and to what we want. its noting really that can be controled.
Discrimination is how people are ridiculed because of the way they look, their actions, or their beliefs. People are discriminated because of religious beliefs today and have been since the beginning out society. An example in my life is in the dance world. Dance is characterized to be mostly, a girl's sport or activity. Although, this is clear, guys participate as well. Because not as many males dance, they are sometimes favored over girls. Men move differently and in a unique way compared to women. It sometimes frsutrates me when I audition for something and don't make it but the boy standing next to me that may not have as much technique does. I think that the boys who do dance feel lucky and don't completely understand what female dancers actually go through. They will never understand. I care a lot but know that it will never happen. I believe we accept discrimination in our society because all people judge. Whether we want to admit it or not, we all do. Every person is different. Some can accept that and others can't.

Discrimination means singling out certain types of people. Discrimination happens all around the world. For example lots of black people and Mexicans get discriminated against just for there back round. Black people are always singled out just because of the fact that they are black. There is no reason why people should do this. Mexicans are also discriminated against just for being Mexican. It is pointless to single out a certain person just for there culture. This happens a lot throughout our world today. One time I was at an auu tournament for basketball and we where playing this all black team. I thought that we where going to get killed just because they where black. We ended up killing them. Even though this is somewhat of a complement to the black kids on the other team it was still wrong to discriminate against others just because of there race. I also believe that we accept discrimination in our society because people relaize that discrimination is never going to end.
Discrimination is unfair prejudice against another person. One might discriminate against a person based on ethnicity, religion, what they are doing with their life, what music they listen to, among half a million other things. I've been discriminated against because of my weight (I had really round cheeks :) ). I would be made fun of, of wouldn't be close to other people because of this. That made me feel pretty bad. This always made the other person seem better then me. If I understand correctly, kids make fun of other kids to provoke a reaction (I don't remember anymore, it's been so long . . .). At this time I did care. I took a lot of the things that were said to me to heart. I just didn't know any better back then. I believe that we accept discrimination in our society because we ARE human. Everybody is. This is yet another thing that humans do - a natural action; a natural way of making ourselves feel better about the way we are.
Discrimination is when people exclude a person or a group of people. Discrimination can be because of race, religion, sex, age, or personal opinions. There are lots of examples of discrimination throughout are world. For instance, more so back during the civil rights times but the hatred of blacks by whites. Another example is the hatred of jews. Or now more present the hatred towards gays. I once was discriminated against at an open gym, when i was to young to play with the big guys. At the time i felt like i wasn't important but i now realize it is probably best i didn't for my own safety. Once i didn't let this girl join are science group. I did this because i thought she was weird and i didn't want to make the effort to talk to her. Im sure this didn't make her feel accepted. At the time i didn't care because i was with my friends but now that i look at it i was being a dick. I think we have discrimination in this society because we all make judgments and by the way we perceive others we either accept them or don't.

Discrimination can be described in many different ways. I would say discrimination in judging people. An example of discrimination could be in the work force with males and females. Sometimes males get treated with more respect then women to or more hours and such. Stereotypes are also a form discrimination. Being a cheerleader I get stereotyped everyday just for a sport I participate in. I hate it. I am nothing like a stereotypical cheerleader. I myself do discriminate against other as well, I do my best not to though. An example of this is I assume people do the things their friends do or act like their friends do and i automatically don't like them. I do this because if I don't know someone I judge them on their friends. I obviously no longer do this but it made me feel bad because I'm not like most of my friends and I wouldn't want to be judged because of them. It probably won't make the people very pleased with me if they knew I did this to them. I do care if it makes them feel bad hence the reason I don't do it anymore. I think we accept discrimination in our society because we are to scared to speak up and be discriminated ourselves for thinking differently.

Discrimination is the mistreatment or opinions of a person based on their class, race, sex, sex preference, area they live, what they look like, and personal experiences. An example of discrimination that has happened to me is when I get insulted because I am overweight.
When my family and I went to Rome I saw a lot of people selling illegal copied products. So I thought that they were petty criminals trying to make some money. In fact they were just poor people trying to make a buck. When I discriminate afterwards it made me feel ashamed with myself. I do care about other people’s feelings so I rarely show discrimination. I think we accept discrimination in our society because it will be impossible to stop.
Dicrimination is a lot of things. Most of all it is defing who someone is when you dont truly know them. It comes back to making perceptions of people. You got to get to know them first. One example of discrimination in my life was when i get made fun of for my height. Its all good though cause it is what it is. It made me feel kind of shitty but i got over it because im lucky to be alive. It made the other person feel funny and that was alright because i laughed too. I think we accept discrimination in our society because it has been passed down from generations. We dont know any better than not to.

Driscrimination is how people are judged. One way of discrimination in the world today is discrimination agianst different ethnic groups like african americans. Another discrimination is agianst mexicans. I have been discriminated agianst by many people becasue i am differnet and dont wear exspensive cloths and follow the majority of the crowed. When people look at me differently because i am deffernt from them it makes me feel sorry for them that they cant accept me for who i am and not the money i have to spend on excpensive stuff. I have discriminated agianst many different people. I dont know why. I think that everyone does it know matter how good of a person they are. its human nature. I feel so bad when i do it and tell myself that everyone is different and has the right to be.
Discrimination is when you act meanly towards someone or a group of people for the way they look or act. Some acts of discrimination today are against certian religions and how others choose to live there life. Many people discriminate against teenagers just because of their age. I have been discriminated against because of my age. People think that just because of my age that im stupid and i wont be able to do certian things or that im unreliable. I can't exactly remember a time that i openly discriminated against someone, but i know that i have in my head. I know that i have against obeise people and i think mean things and for a little bit it makes you feel like you have so much power. I know that if i would ever have those thought come out that i could really hurt their feelings a lot. I do care that these things come to mind i work hard to make them not. I think we accept discrimination in out society because it makes people feel better about themselves.
Discrimination is whe you judge, or stereotype a certain type of gender, race, ethnicity, beleifs, etc. Usually discrimination involves unequal rights. You basicly make the group of people or person inferior to yourself. Examples today would be preventing gay marriage or sexism in the workforce. A type of discrimination that has occured in my life was when I was made fun of for having glasses, braces, the works. It made me feel horrible and really bad about myself. I have discriminated against people that are super religious. I am personally not religous at all, and whenever I meet someone that says they are really chirstan or catholic or whatever, I just loose respect for them I guess. I judge them before I even know them. I know thats horrible and I do feel bad about thinking that way. To be honest I guess I do think less of people that are. I don't think the other person knew that I thought less of them because I didn't really show it but I was still judgeing them in my head. I did care a lot about it, and I still do today. I really do try to give people the full chance, but its hard sometimes when you have a certain mind set your entire life. It still bothers me today and now. Discrimination is accepted by our society because it is human nature. Everyone wants to think they are right. No one wants to be proved wrong about something they believe so passionately. Its human nature to think you are better than some people. I mean lets face it practicly everyone thinks theya re better than at least one person. Its an unavoidable truth. It will always be there, therefore we just accept it. I am not saying its a good thing because it definitly isn't, but the truth is, that it will always be there. As long as people stay ignorant, and that includes myself, discrimination will always be here.

To me discrimination is putting people into groups based on what you have been told on them. Putting them into groups based on an assessment you make just by looking at them without even knowing them. An example of discrimination in the world today is everyday. Everyday people single out each other and make fun of each other just for being different. One time I didn't let someone sit at our table because I didn't like them. It made me feel empowered. I think it made the other person feel terrible. Did I care? No, I did not care. I didn't care because I was busy talking with my friends, not taking the time to notice how big of a douche I was being. I think we accept discrimination in our society because we all do it. We figure "Hey, If I do it, why can't he?"
I talked to you about making this up, you said it was okay.
I believe discrimination is the perspective of someone. How you veiw the way the present themselves in font of people. The biggest discrimination in the world(yet it was supposed to have ended) is the hate towards blacks. As much as I try to believe people, no matter what skin color, are equal, I know its not true. I hate to sit here and know that someone out in the world, is being looked down upon because they have a darker skin than someone else. The discrimination I've dealt with, is where I live. I live in a trailor park. (This kind of ties in the stereotypes as well.) I have lost friends after they find out where I live. It sucks. Knowing that just because I live in a trailor, someone automatically thiks they are better then me, and cant be my friend. Which, is extremly shallow, if you ask me. I'm not a bad person, at all. To be honest, I don't even have any friends here. Most of the kids in my park are bad kids; into drugs, drinking, getting in trouble with the cops. Not my kinda thing, so I choose not to associate myself with them. I guess that could be me being stereotypical and discriminating against them, but its true. Kids here have fallen into the typical trailor park kid, which sets a bad name for kids like me, that arent like that. I feel horrible saying that about kids my age in my neighborhood, but I mean, I'm not lying. I garuntee 75% of kids under 18 in my neighborhood, do some form of drug. I bet, if I didnt grow up here, I would be one of those kids that wouldnt want to be friends with a trailor park kid. Actually, I know for a fact I would. I basically do it now, I just live there as well, and its almost hypocritical. I believe discrimination is accept in society because its pretty much human nature to jugde people. As much as we may try not to, we are all guilty of judging and discriminating against people. Whether its being their friend, or giving them a job. Its ridiculous how much discrimination has become accepted as and everyday lifestyle. Some people judge as much as they breathe, and others dont. Yet, most people dont look down on the person doing the judging, only the person being judge. The world has become an ugly place due to the discrimination against people that dont look like you.
