Day 9

Good job reading out loud today. We have not done much of this but will be doing some more as the time goes on. One of the concepts we mentioned was that of honor. Who in this story seems more honorable? Why? Is there any irony to which character may seem to have more honor? What role does honor play in your life? Give an example of a time you did something honorable?

In the book, Achilles seemed to be the charcter whm carried the honor traight due to the fact thta he was not giving in to anything. Though, I at first thought that Hector was gong to be the honorable character due to his importance. Hector is one of the biggest symbols in ancient greece so that is where i got the feeling from. In my my life, honor takes a big role due to the fact that i am currently in an important stage in life. I must always wrok hard through out the day and have honor in what i am doing this way i can make sure that everything is done good and correctly. Sports is another main thing in which i find myself honoring. In hockey i always feel that if you play as hard as you can and with a good attitude you are only 90% complete, but adding the honor in your game or confidence, this will make you play that much better.

In the story, Hector, I think, has more honor because he doesn’t just fight to gain honor but he does it for Troy. Achilles does fight for his honor but he kind of fights for honor for selfish ways. That is the ironic part. Achilles did fight for his own honor and for selfish reasons but he ironically had more of a sustained reason for fighting to gain the honor for his friend that Hector killed. Which hector wanted to fight Achilles because of selfish reasons also. Really, I don’t think that either of them deserve to be called honorable people, but I think that Hector fought more for the reason of honor, where Achilles fought more for himself. I think that I am an honest person and fair person, but I don’t really see complete honor taking a large role in my life. My brother is not the skinniest person, or the “coolest”, but he is a wonderful person who I am very close to. When people are truly cruel to him, it makes me mad to see that he lets them walk all over him. The funny part it that those kids are his friends. So, when they come over and decide to not treat him right, I decide to stick up for him (not to the point where he likes like a sissy) and I just make them feel like low lives instead of my brother. That is my most important honorable thing I have done, just because I don’t think it is right for my brother to go through that.

I think that the character that had more honor was Achilles. While Hector was fighting because he had to, Achilles was fighting for a friend. In the beginning, Achilles was going to fight Hector right then and there, but Hector ran away. I think that Hector did have some honor when he told Achilles that he would return his body, and some of Achilles honor was taken away when he did not honor Hector's wishes. But in the end, I think that Achilles' reason for fighting is more honorable than Hector's reasoning. The irony in this is that Hector was killed in Achilles' armor. Honor plays an important part in my life because today I am setting the pace for the rest of my life. What I do now is the foundation for what I do in the future. I want to live to be truthful and respectful. Something honorable I have done was help the less fortunate who were homeless. Helping those less fortunate than me was very rewarding, and I think it was honorable because I wasn't expecting any thanks, or anything in return.

I think Achilles had more honor. I feel this way because he was willing to fight and not just give up and make a pact. I think there is a little bit of irony in this because in the end what he does isn't very honorable. He shows ohonor all the way till the end, when he dragged around Hectors body. Honor doesnt have a huge role in my life right now but I know that it will increase as I get older. One thing I did that was honorable was admit that i didnt something wrong to my grandpa when he asked me about it. I think I got in less trouble if i would have gotton caught later on then i did by just confessing it.

In the ilaid ,hector was definantly the more honorably won. He may have tried to run and he lost the fight but he was originally tring to protect the city of troy and wat achilles and his men did to hector after his death is not honorable. Its barbaric. and thats why i believe hector is the more honorable one because achilles doesnt give crap about honor hes to consumed by rage. honor plays a rolein my life before. i used to play baseball wen i was in 5th grade and once i "took one for the team." and let the ball hit me so i could walk. it hurt but we won

In the Ilaid I believe that Hector is the more honorable one. Although Hector ran away in fear and lost the fight he was fighting for a better cause than Achilles. Hector was fighting for his country while Achilles was fighting for revenge. Revenge is never a good thing in my opinion. Also, knowing Achilles character from watching some parts of the movie Troy and reading about him he was very stubborn. It seemed like he always had to stand up to someone and do exactly what they told him not to do. What him and his men did to Hector's body after he was killed was unhonorable. When Achilles refused Hector's request it was a sign of him being unhonorable. He knew he was going to kill Hector and even though he hated the man so much he could have been honorable enough to do the right thing and be a respectful man in this instance. Honor plays a large role in my life. I judge people on their honor. Whether it is how they treat their parents and teachers or how much effort they put into their school work; I look at a person without hobor as someone who doesn't deserve what they get and therefore deserves nothing. They don't deserve my respect or anyone elses. An honorable deed that I have done is that I have learned to respect my parents. It took me some time to realize just how to do this. It is simple really. My parents and I used to have very unhealthy relationships. They have improved a lot this year because I have realized what honoring them truly means. All I have to do is what they tell me, which is not much. Many of the things they ask of me benefit me in the long run anyways so it is overall a win win situation. My junior year is my best yet in every aspect; friends, family, and grades.

I think Achilles had more honor than Hector. Hector was debating if he should stand and fight Achilles, or if he should run. A person wth honor in this situation wouldnt trn their backs on their city and the cities people. Hector did display qualitites of honor by saying whoever dies shall have a proper burial. When Hector gets killed, the irony was that he was wearing patroclus' armor, who was Achilles dear friend who was killed by Hector. Honor plays a role in my life by me doing things that wont only help me, but also others around me. An example of this was when I went to my moms school and helped kids read. I took some of my own time and used it to help others out, rather than waste it all on myself.

I personal think that Achilles is more honorable than Hector. I think this because Achilles fought Hector to revenge his friend's death. Hector only fought Achilles because he wanted glory. It is ironic because Achilles killed Hector while Hector was wearing Achilles' armor. Honor plays an important role in my life. I am at the time in my life where I have to compete with other people to get things. Such as jobs, getting into colleges, etc. I feel that many people judge each other on their honor. I want to be an honorable person not only to help acheive things in my life, but to also feel good about things that I am doing in my life. One time I did something honorable by going with my church youth group to help people with financial troubles. We went downtown and helped pick out christmas present with the families. In conclusion, I feel that honor is an important concept and that people should want to be remembered for the good things they have done.

I feel that in this story Hector was most honoraBLE. Even though he coawarded he still had honor. He knew that he was going to die going in to this. I feel that putting yourself on the line, when you know you wont most likely come out living is very honorable. I think that this is ironic bevause the great warrior seems less honorable then Hector. I think for all highschoolers honor is in our life every day. It has to do with all of the choices we make, day in and day out. I tihnk one time that i was honorable was when i stopped a friend from drinking and driving. Even though i didnt have my liscence i toopk their keys and drove, because i trusted myself more then i trusted this person with mine and others safety.

Hector ended up dieing in the end but he died with honor atleast. Honor plays a part in my life i try to do the honerable thing. Something i have done thats honerable is telling the truth instead of lieing to people. I try to tell the truth most the time, plus im a horible lier and feel bad if i lie to people.

Achilles seems more honorable in the story than anyone else. This is because Achilles is avenging his best friend's death at the hands of Hector. The irony in the Illiad is that in the beggining Hector is waiting to fight Achilles face to face, then when Achilles gets close Hector runs away. And Hector begged Achilles and begging is definitely honorable. Honor plays an everyday role in my life. It may not be the kind of honor that it was back in the ancient world, but it's honor none the less. I always try to help people whenever possible, like an elderly person dropped something without noticing and I ran it to them to give it back.

The character that has more honor is Hector. Hector has more honor because he said that he is fighting for Troy and it is apparent that he will do anything for Troy. The irony in what character has more honor is that the person who has the most honor is the one that ends up getting killed. Honor plays a big role in my life because everyday i always think to myself about the song "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw. That song reminds myself to live everyday like it was your last and to take great pride and honor in what im doing. An example of the last time i felt honorable was that 144 point project we turned in because i gave my all into that project and i helped the rest of my group when they needed help which makes me feel really good.

I think Hector is more honorable because he fought alone. He also fought when he had the worst chance of winning. He is more honorable because he is more respectable. I respect that he went and fought alone and left the rest of his community out of it. This is ironic because Achilles won and had more power than Hector. Honor plays a role in my life by giving me an idea of what to do or not to do. If it affect my honor in a negative way I won't do it, but if it's in a positive way I will do it. There was a new student and I talked to her to make her feel welcome. I believe this was honorable because it was respectable.

In the Illiad, I think Achiles seems to be more honorable. Achilles was the one who was'nt affriad of anythin, he woulnt go alng with Hectors oath. He was fightig for one thing to kill Hector. I think that sinse Achilles had so much honor he overwhelmed his self. He thought he could do everything on his own, trying to prove something to someone or yourself may not always be a good thing. I think honor in my life would be at school. Even though I dont do that well in school lately I think thats is a big part of honor.

Also, achilles was fighting for a friend which is honarbale. I think the irony was that when hector was killed he was wearing patorculus's armor, which was achilles friend. I think honor plays a role in everyones life. It affects not only you but everyone around you as well. I think something I did that was honorable was go to oxbow elementary with the hockey team. We read to the kids and played with them. It was a good time and its cool how they look up to you. I hope we get to do it again.

In this story, I would have to say that Hector has more honor for two reasons. First, is that while the reson he turned around was because he thought he had help, he fought alone. Achilles fought with the help of a God. Second, is that Hector promised to not defile Achilles body should he win, whereas Achilles mutilated his body to a horrifying extent. Sure, there is definetly irony. The man with more honor actually turned out to be the one that died in the end. Well, technically they both die, but in this chapter. Honor plays a very important role in my life. I want people to think that I am honorable. To be someone without honor would be disgraceful. Its hard to think of a time where I have been honorable. I suppose if I had to pick something it would be the time when showed honor to my religion, by defending it on the bus. I once got into a very big argument on the bus with a kid over the existence of God. I dont think I necesarily won the argument, but i certainly didnt lose.

In this story I believe Hector to be more the honorable person. Achilles was the most honorable fighter and never depended on the gods to help him win. He fights for passion and the presence on the battlefield was an inspiration to the other fighters. However, Achilles pride got in his way when he wouldn't fight and let his friend Patroclous fight in his place. When his friend was killed by Hector he decided to fight for revenge. Hector took up the fight for his city and wanted to fight beside his men. When Hector was going to die he asked Achilles to give his body back to his family; Achilles refused and paraded Hector's dead body around (this was truly dishonorable). Achilles need for revenge and the way he handled Hector's death made him dishonorable. Hector was fighting for his country and Achilles was fighting to avenge his friends death; therefore, I would say Hector was more honorable. The irony in which character would have more honor is that Achilles was a honorable fighter; however, his pride and revenge got in his way making him a dishonorable person. Honor plays a role in my daily life; I live by a code of ethics by respecting others and on the most part making good choices. A honorable thing that I have done is return an i-pod that I found at the store.

To me, a charactor who seems honorable in the story is Hector. Even though he was scared at first but it was his honor that made him scary. he had so much honor for his country that he didnt want to disapoint it. Achilles doesnt reall have honor, he has arrogence. He would rather fight for wat he wanted then rather fighting for something another wanted. He has honor in him self. The ironic thing about hector is that his honor killed him. He wanted to show the people of troy that he could protect them and that he could be a hero. As i answered i the other blog, my life doesnt have that great of responsibiliy to have that honor. Something horrible i have done is, i have stollen from an old person.

To me, I think Hector was the more honorable one. Achilles was fighting for revenge and pride. On the other hand, Hector was fighting for his country because his army was ruined due to his recklessness. Doing some in spite or revenge is never a good thing. It shows that you are weak and that you let things get to your head. Hector was also honorable when he said that he would return his body to his people. Achilles refused to do the same with Hectors body which also made him less honorable. The way that Achilles and his men stabbed and mutilated Hectors corpse was another sign of him being unhonorable. Honor plays a role in everyone's lives, but especially as teenager. The decisions we make now can affect the rest of our lives. In my life, honor plays a big role since I am at a critical stage in my life. My grades in school determine my future. I have been trying to take pride in my work and get good grades. I did good the first cardmarking, but it will only get harder as the year progresses. I hope to keep getting good grades throughout the school year.

Throughout the Iliad I actually saw Achilles as the one that showed more honorable traits. This is ironic, because many would believe Hector to be the more honorable one, but in reality he wasnt. Hector ran away like a coward, and wouldnt even stand and fight for his people. That is not showing honor. Achilles on the other hand, was willing to do what ever it meant, to get revenge for his people. He stood and fought like a man, in honor of his people and his home. Honor plays the part in my life of basically, if you say you are going to do something, then follow through with it till the end. Just like in the story, I believe Hector would have shown more honor if he would have followed through with his original intent of standing up to Achilles for his people. Instead he looked like a sissy. This can be anything simple, from if I tell my parents Ill clean my room, then I should. I should follow through with what I say I am going to do. I beleive honor also comes in when someone does something wrong. I believe it shows honor when you are able to stand up and follow through with what ever you did that was wrong, admit to it, and take the responsibility that comes along with it.

In the story, I think Hector is more honorable because he is willing to take off the armor, and sort things out verbally, not violently. Achilles just wants to fight Hector, but Hector said he would work things out with Achilles. But, Achilles refuses. I think there is some irony. You would think Achilles would be more honorabl because he is a god, but Hector is more honorable, and he is just a mortal. Something honorable that I do is TIES, well I think its honorable. As a TIES, I help autistic kids that need that little extra push to succeed. I personally, can change the life of one, or a few kids, just by being a TIES. It makes me feel better about myself, knowing I can help a person in need.

I believe that Achilles is the more honorable of the story. unlike Hector, Achilles does not run from his problems or battles, he faces them. Also i believe that it is honorable that Achilles fought for his friend. Ironically, Achilles is not completely honorable, he accepted help from Athena in battle. Which was unfair and not very honorable. Honor plays a big part in my life, because it has to do with how i feel about myself. Something i did that was honorbale was to tell the truth. it's not very important or heroic but it's what defines me as an honorable person.

In the story, I think that Hector is the more honorable character. Even though he knows he will probably die, he still stands strong to try and encourage his people. It is ironic that he would be the more honorable one because Achilles is supposedly immortal. Achilles should be the one who shows great honor because of his supposed God-given war power. Honor is not one of the most dominant parts of my life, but I think it is present. I try to do the honorable thing in different situations, but I do not go out of my way like Hector to try and prove my honor. I think of honor as more of an everyday thing we can show, in small actions rather than on large-scale actions like trying to end world hunger. I have helped people pick up their books when they drop them and everybody stares. I have jsut been a good friend and let someone cry on my shoulder when they needed it. I think being honorable can be done in our everyday actions, and over time you don't have to think much about it, you just grow into more of an honorable person.

Personally, I believe that Hector was more honorable than Achilles. This is because, Hector knew that he was going to die, but he still went up against Achilles. However, he was tricked by Athena, he still could of said no, but he didn't. Also, when Hector and Achilles were going to fight, Hector tried making a deal with Achilles about after the fight, with whoever loses what will happen to their body. Hector said that he would put his body somewhere if he were to win, then he asked Achilles if he would do the same. Achilles said no, this was because the men hated each other, so Achilles thought they shouldn't do anything nice to each other. I thought that was very rude. Hector was trying to be the honorable and bigger person, but Achilles turned him down. Achilles basically fights for revenge, which I believe to be kind of selfish. Hector, however, was fighting for his country. This brings us to the irony in the story. Achilles fighting for revenge and Hector fighting for his country, and in the end Hector ends up losing. Honor plays a very important role in my life. I believe that you should always be honorable to everyone, whether they deserve it or not. How I am honorable in my life is, that I am always polite to my teachers. I see how disrespectful some students are to the teachers and I don't like. You guys are here for us, to help us learn, to help be successful in our future, the least we could do is be respectful. I believe that always being to polite to much teachers, never talking back, nor giving them attitude, is the way to go.

In this story, I think that Hector is more honorable. Even though he wants to fight Achilles, he was doing it for the right reasons and not going down without a fight. Achilles was just really full of himself and thinking that he was the greatest and was very mean after he killed Hector. Letting his men stab him and then drag him behind the chariot was not an honorable thing to do at all. It is ironic that Hector is the one with more honor because he is the one trying to kill Achilles in the first place. Honor plays a very important part in my life. I try to be a good person and be someone and do things that I am proud of and won't look back and regret later on in life. I am in the NHS which is an important thing to show honor. A time that I did something honorable is when I volunteer and do community service type things that reach out and help the community. Over the summer I went on a mission trip to help people in Kentucky rebuild their houses and improve living conditions. Another thing is when my youth group and I help out at Community Resource sharing and go on walks to raise money for the world hunger problem. This is showing that we care more about other things and not just ourselves and is showing honor.

IN the Iliad Hector seems to be more honorable than Achilles. HEctor shows more honor bevause he attepmts to rationalize wtih Achilles and ask him to take his body back to his friends if he is to die, and Hector would do the same for him. Also Hector shows courage by stepping up to Achilles because he knew death was inevitable and he wanted his troops to see him die with honor and glory in a attepmt tp pump them up. IN the story Hector begins the fight by runnning away from Achilles because he becomes scared, but he actually is the one to show more honor. Honor plays a big role in my life, like I said yesterday honor to me is keeping a set of moral values that you follow every day, and also respecting yourself and people around you. Hector lost his honor for his citezines and city by doing this. The irony in this is that when Hector died he was in Achilles armor. Honor plays a big part in my life. I believe Hector was truly the more honorable person in the story. I think this because Hector knew what he had to do and he went out and fought for what he believed in. Even tough he was scared he still knew he owed it to his people to fight. I believe the irony of Hector having more honor was that it wasn't expected of him. Achilles is this great so called immortal hero and he was the one who actually showed less honor. Honor is my life is a huge part of it. An example would be when i went to kentucky on a mission trip. In the Iliad, Achilles seems to be the one with more honor. I think the reason he seems more honorable is because he is fighting for a more just reason. Achilles is fighting for his friend Patroclus and his Acheaen culture. Hector is merely fighting to get more honor from his peoples and armys. That is the irony of the two warriors. Hector aslo dies in Achilles armor and that could be another example of irony. Honor plays a great role in my life. I want to be able to honor the right people, but more importantly I want people to look up to me and honor me. I want to be a role model for people to follow and I want to be rewarded for all my hard work, whether it be a high paying job, or even just a nice family later on in life. An example of being honorable is when I helped out a nursing home. I recieved no pay for my work and my intentions were good. I feel like not only did other people honor me, but I took pride in myself and honored myself.

Hector is more honorable because he is willing to give up his life to protect his brother, to prove his honor and to regain the trust of the people of Troy. It is ironic that Achilles was held in such high regard but he was reckless and uncontrollable. Honor is very important to me. I was raised to be respectful and considerate. I was taught to so the right thing. I try to live an honorable life by not following what is popular but doing things that make this world a better place. My example would be that after each tennis match I made sure that anything coach needed done I would help him take care of it. This way the coach wasn’t doing the clean up or picking up the stray balls. I think that was honorable because most of the team was long gone and I didn’t think it was right to leave coach to do that. Sometimes it is the little things you do that makes your life honorable.

In the Iliad I believe the character that was more honorable was Hector. He was the greatest warrior in Troy. His people honored him, and when he let them down he died trying to fix it. When a person does not return to his people untill he has fought someone that he knows will bring him to his death, he is more honrable. Many people will say Achilles was more honarable because he was honred my more, and important people. Also he was considered to be immortal, which was highly honored. Achilles was not true in his character though, and he was motivated by wrong.I think a time I was honored was when I helped decide that my uncles can stay with me and my mom. This was honorable because my sister is gone now and me and my mom knew I would have more time at my house alone. My family would not allow them to live with us (due to circumstances) as long as I agreed. I decided to put them over myself and my family honored me for that.

Achilles is fighting for people & country while Hector was just fighting because he had to. The irony in this is that Hector is killed wearing Achilles armour. Honor plays a big role in my life. Alot of the things i do are based on honor, everyday things like being fair, honest and responsible. If im not honest with my parents i loose honor from them and also privledges. I want to keep my honor so i can be respected and honorable. Something i have done that is honorable is say no to peer pressure. When people are doing something you dont believe in you should stand up for yourself, i think that is honorable.

In the story, Hector seems to be the more honorable character. He respects Achilles and admits to saying that he would return Achilles body to his men, if he was to die. Hector also doens't want honor for himself, as much as he just wants to be respected by his people. Achilles, on the other hand, just wants glory and revenge for himself. These thoughts do not gain honor in my eyes. The irony to this, is that Hector dies in the end, but he is still more honorable. The role that honor plays in my life is, that I try to get honor from my parents by doing good deeds or good grades. I also give honor to others that I respect and deserve it. An example of a time I did something honorable, was when I admitted to lying about something to my parents when they asked me about it. I do not really feel like I have done anything truely honorable in general though. I believe that honor is something bestowed upon you by others, and not something that you can claim for yourself.

I think that in the book, Achilies was the the character that had the most honor because he was not giving into anything. Hector was a an important person in ancient greece. Honor plays a big role in my life right now. I should have honor in all the hard work that i do, so that i do everthing currectly.

After reading the story I think Achilles had more honor. Even though he was more stuck up at least he went to fight. Hector ran away from Achilles. The more honorable thing would be fight to your death, instead of running away from the fight you choose to participate in. At first I wasnt really sure who was going to win. It seemed kind of even in a way. At this point in my life Im not so worried about honor. I think that I will do something honorabl when the time comes. Whatever happens happens.

I believe that Hector was more honorable. Achilles seemed merciless and unforgiving. Hector wanted to show that he had some shred of honor left after so many of his people were killed. The ironic thing about this story is that neither of the two characters had very much honor. They both fought each other. They were willing to kill the other person and they knew that they wanted to. Wanting to kill another person out of anger seems very dishonorable to me. Honor plays a roll in my life at school. All of the students must be honorable to their teacher and classmates to succeed. I have been honorable when I have helped other people in class on assignments. I believe that honor was hardly there in this book, and therefore, neither person in the book is completely honorable in the end.

I believe Achilles had more honor throughout the book. Hector had to fight because he had to while Achilles fights for someone else in an honorable way. Hector also ran from Achilles. That shows fear and that he is scared. You can’t have fear inside of you, you must fight for your honor and in my opinion Hector doesn’t. I think the ironic part is what Hector is wearing when Achilles kills him. He is wearing Patroclus armor. That’s ironic how Achilles kills hector in his friend’s armor. Honor plays a big role in my life. It makes me who I am as a person.

In the story we read today, Honor was most showed in Achilles. I think this is true because he didnt run away when Hector met him face to face, and he didnt back down. There is some irony in that Hector was doing it more for himself and Achilles had more experience in battle, plus he was fighting for his empire. In my life honor plays a big role. For example, my grades. When i bring home good grades to my parents, i feel honor because i do it for my life and my parents are proud of me.One time i did an honorable thing, was when my brother was being picked on at school from my friend. I told him to stop, and he wanted to hit my little bro, so I stood up for him, and Fought in honor of him.

In the story, Hector, I think, has more honor because he doesn’t just fight to gain honor but he does it for Troy. even tho he may have tried to run and he lost the fight. the only thing that matter is they he was trying to protect the city of troy. He knew he was going to die in the end when he was getting into this. But he still took the pride that he could do it and possibly have the chance to win. i take honor in a lot of things. mostly cheer leading. i love doing it.

In the illiad I think that Hector had more honor than Achilles. I think that because Hector wanted to end to war and get Helen back. He was thinking of sparing the king of troy more embarasment of having his wife taken from him. Also Hector said that the person who dies deserves a proper burial. Hector also though the body of the person who dies should be sent back to the parents so they could have closure. Achilles told Hector he was going to leave Hectors's body where every it fell when he killed him, so the dogs can mual it. Also, after Achilles killed Hector Achilles pulled Hector's corpse around by Hector's heels. That was not very honorable in my opinion. The ironic part of the story is that Hector killed Achilles's friend, wore Achilles's armor and then Achilles killed Hector.

In my opinion Hector actually seems more honorable. The ironic part is he is a coward at first and runs from Achilles. But, in the ends he fights honorably. He has no help from the gods and dies for his city state. He shows courage in the end when he fights a surely losing battle. Achilles believes he is immortal. So, it takes no courage for him to fight. He goes in knowing he is going to win. He has no threat.

I think both Hector and Achilles showed honor in this story. Hector showed honor when he fought for his country. The thing that was ironic about Hector was that he was killed wearing Achilles own armor. Now, Achilles on the other hand was sowing honor by fighting for his friend, which Hector had killed. Achilles also was dishonorable in the way that he had a god helping him fight Hector, which gives him the upper hand. Honor plays an important role in my life. I like to think that I am an honorable person. One time that I thought was honorable was when I got a test back and I should have gotten a grade lower, I told the teacher so they could fix it, but because I told them they gave me the grade I already had.

I Think that Achilles had more honor in the Illiad. I felt that when Hector ran he lost his honor. Honor plays a big role in everbody;s life. I makes you feel better about everything that you do. It also makes you somewhat better at everything that you do. Ive been honorable in almost everything ive done. From work to school I feel I have tried my hardest. To me that means that I was honorable in what I was doing.

In my opinion Achilles seems more honorable in this story. I think he is more honorable because Achille's wasn't just fighting for himself he was also fight for his friends Patroclus. This is the opposite for Hector who was only fighting for himself and to get people to join his army. In this story there is also many example of irony. One of the example is that Hector dies in Achilles armor. Honor plays many different roles in people life's. In my life honor plays a huge role. I honor many different people in my life, that deserve tobe honored. A time I had something honorable was when I started to honor my parents more and appreciate what they do for me. My parents have also started honoring my because I am getting better grades this year.

Hector seems more honorable, because he doesnt seem to care as much of fighting Achilles then worrying about how he was going to be remembered, and how Achilles was going to with his body after he had killed him. There irony to why Achilles seemes to have more honor because he didnt do anything to honor Zeus, but Hector did, and Zeus marked Hector for death. Ive never done anything i could consider to be honorable in my life. But my goal is to serve an honorable life and do honorable things.

I think that Hector had more honor in this story. He showed more honor by standing outside the walls and fighting for what he thought was right. This is ironic because Hector gets his ass kicked by Achilles and ends up dead. However he did die doing something honorable for his country and his beliefs. Honor plays a large part in my life. I am most honorable to my family and close friends. If someone messes with them i get very upset and would do anything to help them. For instance if my friends ever got into a fight i would be there to back him up just incase shit goes down.

To me Achilles seemed to be the most honorable of the two characters. He was less coward like, and favored more. He may not have seemed like the one to be honored due to him not giving anything to Zeus but that's the way Homer wanted it. I think Achilles truly was over all thought of as the best. He had not seemed to do a thing compared to Hectors hard work he had done to get the gods attention. In my life honor seems to be a great part of it. Honor plays as the back bone of my hard work I can do as a student along with the pride I get of accomplishing a goal. One good example would be raising up my math grade. I have been staying after for extra help to eventually achieve a better grade. When this happens it will be honorable to me and my family.

In the book I felt that Achilles was the most honorable character. Although in the beging I thouhgt that hector was going to be more honorable because he wanted to fight for his people and deafeat the all mighty Achilles. But I do think that Achilles is the most honorable because he does no give up on running down Hector and he will not stop until he is dead. Achilles is said to be imortal so Hector will stand no chance against him. Truth is the role that honor plays in my life and doing what I am told. My parents reward my honor with allowing me to do things when my chores and work are done and done right. A time that I did something that I thought to be truthly honorable was when I gave my seat up to an elderly person when we were waiting for a table at a restruant.

Mr. Kay,
you told me to remind you that my internet was down and it just got back up, that's why it is late.

I think that Hector seems to have more honor. He is going into the fight knowing he probably wont survive. Even though he runs from Achilles, he still fights him. I think it takes a lot of courage to go against one of the best fighters around. Hector was fighting to keep a good name for himself, so even if he died, people would remember him dying for his state. There is some irony that Hector seems more honorable because, you would think Achilles would be since hes such a good fighter and seems to be the good guy, you would think he should be the one who is more honorable. Honor plays a big role in my life. I like to be honorable everyday, whether it is playing fair in hockey or not cheating in school. A time i did something honorable was when I went with my friends church to help serve food to the poor. It was something honorable because I didn't do it for anything in return, I just wanted to help the people there.

Mom had swine flew so i was without a computer or internet while living at my friend's house.

Both men in the story seem to be honorable. I say this because while Achilles showed honor by avenging his cousin, Hector too showed honor even though he died. Hector showed honor when he asked for the loser to be given a proper funeral. Acilles denied his request though. It's ironic that Achilles seemed to be more honorable because he disgraced Hector's body by dragging it behind his chariot. In my life, honor is like the second mort important thing, but it doesn't rule my life. A time I did something honorable would be when I helped my neighbor, who is handicapped, move his garbage cans.
