Day 4

Hopefully, you got where Mr. Pouliot and I were coming from today. As he said, we could easily do our job without caring, hand out some sheets and collect them, give some information and then test but then we would not be true to ourselves. We want each of you to be successful not only in this class but in your life. We feel privledged that we have the opportunity to help guide you to the next level in your life but need to be met with partnership and respect to truly do what we want for each and everyone of you.

With that in mind, and a new cardmarking with us, tell me about your goals for your education over the next six weeks. Not just in my class but all your classes. Talk about how you can meet those goals and the positive or negative consequences you could create for yourself if you do not meet your goals.

This card marking I did okay but not as well as I would of liked to. For my goals this card marking I want to improve my grade in your class, and in my math class. However I do not just want to get good grades I want to truly understand the material I am learning. I feel like in some of my classes I try very hard and the material just does not click. Then again there are classes where I do not have to try at all I just understand. After listening to your and Mr. Pouliots speech I do understand that it is not only about the grade, but taking pride in your work. I will be the first to admit sometimes I just do the work to get it done. I do not feel sometimes like I take pride in my work, and I am going to try to work on that this card marking as well as improving some of my grades.

Over the next six weeks I hope to improve my grades in all of my classes. My grades in the last term were'nt very bad I mainly got all B's. This card marking I plan to improve all of my grades. Like every year I try to use the first card marking as a base grade and try to increase that grade as the year progresses. I can meet these goals by studying for tests more. I always get my homework done, but one way I can increase my grades is by studying for tests more. I've always had a hard time with tests and hope to change that before I go to college. Mainly because college is all tests from what i've heard. If I do bad in college I could end up with a bad paying job and barely scrape by in life, and nobody wants to just get by in life.

Honestly, i am very pissed at myself for the past card markings and tell myself that i am going to change yet i still fail my expectations. Even you Mr. Kay tell me that i am very intellegent and that i can do so much more than i am currently showing. My parents tell me the same thing and when they see no change they stop yelling at me cause thay feel none of the information they tell me is really being comprehendid and just goes through one ear and out the other. Another thing that i am told is that this is all because i dont care, but the thing is, i do care. I really want to succeed to my ability but i find myself getting lazy.

Knowing this i have set down rules and goals for my self in this up coming term. I plan on getting my self back on to track and recieving at least a 3.2 and reciving no C's. I plan on coming home and putting all friends aside for that hour or two and really going hard at any homework or tests to study for. I also wish to not only start homework but finish it as well. This is because i find a great percentage of my work incomplete.

I feel by doing this, one class at a time i will show my teachers i do care and get back into believing in me and wanting to help me succeed. Showing my effort will also show them i care and that i am not wasting their time. Aside from teachers, I want to show my parents expecially that i do love them and care about doing good. I want to show them that i do appreciate all their support and hard work done to help me out is going to a good cause. I am just tired of all of the consiquences i recieve for not doing good such as loosing the phone, car and even being grounded. This because i know that if i do step it up and succeed i will make my parents proud and they will have no problem with letting me go out and have fun with my friends and sports.

And another thing is thanks again for all your help torward getting me back into the good grades Mr Kay. I really appreciate but think i have failed you and am very excited to show you in this next term i am capable of this.

Sorry I forgot some of the blog. If I do not improve my grades and take pride in my work I will be missing out on a lot. I will be missing out on impressing colleges with my junior grades and not being able to do as much in my social life, because of my parents. However if I complete these goals I will earn a better work ethic and be able to impress colleges. Not to mention I will have ore freedom with my parents :)

My goal this semester is to do my best in every class. I get good grades, but after today I noticed that I don't work as much as I could. Often times I will do things just to get them done, and not put all my effort into it. This semester, I am going to put all my effort into my classes so I can be really proud of my work, and know that I earned what I received. I also need to pay attention more in my math class, because when I don't understand something, I just kind of shut down, and not try to learn it. In all my classes I need to study more, because I haven't studied very much for any class, and it shows. I want to come to class prepared for a test, and not have to worry if I failed it or not. If I meet these goals, then I have a good future to look forward to. If I keep my GPA up, I will have more options after college, and I wont limit myself of any opportunities. If I meet my goals, I will have more pride in my work and myself. If I fail to meet these goals, I am only failing myself. If I let my grades drop, my hard work will be wasted from past years, and I will end up disappointed with myself. I don't want to experience any of the negative consequences, so I am going to really try to reach my goals for this term.

Well first off i would like to thank you guys for putting my thinking back into perspective about how much better i could be doing in school. My goals for your class is to 1, get an A and to 2, get respect from you. I can meet those goals in your class by getting in all of my work on time and doing great on all tests and quizzes and i think that i can earn the respect by participating more in class and doing all i can for my own education. For the rest of my classes i hope to just get the valuable information i need to do what i want to do in the future which is primarily in the Marketing and Buisness industry. If i do not meet my goals then i pretty much screwed my life over because i have already failed 2 classes and its not going to look good if i fail another one. But if i can meet those goals i will be able to start my life after high school because i will have my own car, and the proper education in the industry i want to go into. So once again i want to thank you and Mr.Pouliot for kicking that thought of respect and you control your own education into my head because i have realized that my school work is more importent than anything else right now.

My goals for this weeks card marking are to get my grades up and/or maintain them and to do sucessfully in the marching band program. I would also like to start getting more hours in at where I work. In order to reach my goals, time management will be essential. If I want to work more I will have to make sure I get everything done in time and still put dedication towards band. The negative consequences is that I will have less time to do other things with my friends or family. I will just have to try and manage my time better. That is my ultimate goal. If I do not meet my goals, my gpa could go down or loose track of whats going on in band and maybe loose my job. If I can't manage and organize what is going on in my life now, how am I supposed to when I am dependant on things? I would just really like to not have to worry about getting into the college I want, and to do that I have to study hard for the ACT and MME and score well. A step in doing that is to do well in classes and increase my gpa.

I have many goals I would like to accomplish over the next six weeks. This last cardmarking I got all A's and one A-. One of my goals is to get all A's this cardmarking. I plan on getting all A's by working hard in all my classes and asking for help when I need it. Another goal I have is to get all my homework done before I do anything else. I plan on doing this by going to my room and not watching any tv or doing any other activities. The last goal I have is to take time to study for the ACT and SAT. I bought the review books, and I plan on studying them at least one time per day. If I do not meet these goals I will make myself stay in my room and just study what ever I need to. Also, I will ask for help if I do not meet these goals. However, if I do meet my goals I will go out to dinner with friends or go out to the movies to celebrate. In conclusion I have many educational goals, and I would like to acheive those goals.

Over the next six weeks I plan on doing all of my homework and my class work. I also plan on improving my grades in all my classes. I can meet those goals by actually applying myself. If I do well this card marking I'll be able to stay on the wrestling team. If I don't get all my work done I won't be able to wrestle. Wrestling is the only way I can vent my anger, which is by hurting people without getting in trouble for it. Also if I do well my parents will let me go through driver's ed, if not then I won't. Plus if I don't do well Tayler Chase beats me in class, she is a very abusive friend.

My goals for education in the next six weeks are to study more, manage my time better, pay more attention in class, and get better grades. If I study more I won't be lost on tests and other assignments. If I pay more attention in class I can take better notes and I won't get in trouble. Also, if I plan on not working as much so that I have more time to focus on school. School is more important than making money. After the first card marking, I realize that. I only scheduled myself for 2-days of work a week. Let's hope I get just that so that I can focus more on school. Lastly, getting better grades is just apart of all of what I said before. If I do what I say, then my grades will improve. It's simple cause and effect.

This last cardmarking, I did alright, but I feel like I could have done better. I got good grades, but I feel like I started to get in the habit of procrastinating and only doing things just to get them done and not learning from it. This next cardmarking I really want to work on not procrastinating as much. In your class I really want to work on doing better on the grammar tests each friday. Another class I want to improve in is spanish. I have a B in that class and I really want to work on studying more for the quizes and bring that grade up. I will achieve these goals by doing my homework first before anything else. If I don't do the things I want to this cardmarking, I will be dissapointed in myself, because I know I can do the things I want to. And If I do acheieve my goals then I will be able to have pride in work and know I acheieve my goals.

This card marking I did pretty good. I got all A's and B's. I wish I would study better for most tests. To meet this goal of getting better test scores, i could study more and find a better study method. If I get all A's my parents pay me 100 dollars so it encourages me to try harder. If I don't get all A's then I dont get anythihng. For the next 6 weeks I'm going to try t get all A's. Also, I would feel better about myself for trying harder.

kristen said...

I want to get my gpa higher so I'm hopeing to get all A's this term. I always get A's and B's and am pretty happy with that. Although, to honest that's not hard at all. All you do is do all your work and listen to the lectures in class and you just got yourself a B. Study for a little while and then you get an A-. So this term and the rest of the semester I'm going to try for all A's. To meet these goals I have to study harder and get a better attendence. If I try and fail it would be a disappointment (negative). However I would feel good for trying (positive).

Over the next six weeks i want to take my grades to a new level. I really want to get a 4.0. It would hit home with my parents alot. They have seen that i can make strides to get a good grade, but if i get this, it would be something they wouldn really enjo and appreciate. Next, for myself i want this because i feel it would be a reward for the effort i put in. I feel i can meet this goal by doing a little bit better on tests. I think all that this requires is doing a little bit more studying. I feel like if i dont get this goal some negative consequences wont be too harsh. I wonyt be 100 percent happy with myself but as long as i get all as or a-'s then ill be fine. However i think the positive onsequence will probably come from my parents not me. As theirs would be alot better than me doing something for myself.

For this new cardmarking i definitly plan on getting better grades. In the next six weeks i plan on doing my homework at home and actually studying for tests. To be honest, most of the ork i did was what was finished in school, and i did as little as i could at home and barely studied, and it showed in my report card. I was not in class for what you and Mr.Pouliot were saying but i understand what your saying. My parents always tell me to be proud of the work you do and dont always do the minimum, which is unfortunatley what i do. I want to bring my grades up, and start doing more important things first and my friends will have to wait. During this first cardmarking i always put my friends and hanging out first before homework, which really brought my grades down. I tell myself my expectation and i often just forget about them, being that im already having consequences im going to have to really kick myself into gear and do my work. As far as positive and negative consequences go, my parents show them a lot. When i go good at school and i am participating in school activities i get alot of freedom to do what i want. When i get bad grades, and my parents say all i care about is hanging out, they become more strict, and im allowed to do less and less. Then i get upset by all the rules and break more. So pretty much i just need to give school my best effort and i should be all set. Then again, alot easier said then done, but im going to try my best now.

Well, over the next 6 weeks, i basically just plan to do better. I have a problem with procrastinating. My biggest struggle is not understanding the information, but doing to work that goes along with the info. I typically dont do to bad in classes like lit or world history, but with my AP classes and math, the obstical is not me not understanding the info, its not reinforcing it. I suppose if I meet these goals, I will have to reward myself somehow. The negative consequences however are simple. Short term, my mother. If i dont have good grades I wont hear the end of it from my mother. Long term, college. Every person in my grade is competeing for the same spots in college than I am. Better than average grades will only help me to stand out more.

My goals for education for the next six weeks are to manage my time wisely and to focus. Lately, I have a hard time paying attention in all of my classes, some more than others though. I need to work on staying on task and not letting things distract me. The hardest class to pay attention in is physics and I'm not understanding anything that's going on now and its going to start affecting my grade if I don't make changes. Also, I want to learn spanish better because I'm doing just enough to get by but I'm not really learning anything. I can meet these goals by just making sure that I'm doing that I'm supposed to be doing. Also I need to work on procrastinating and putting everything to the last possible minute. Time management helps with that. Lately, I have been more interesting in whoever I'm texting or talking on the phone with that I'm not getting homework and stuff like that done. I really need to work on that. Positive consequences are that I feel good about getting all my work done and don't have to worry about getting everything done and rushing to do it. Negative consequences are that I won't understand what I'm doing and not do too well on the test and also that I'm letting myself down my not doing my work.

During this card marking I am going to achieve my goal of studying more not only for Lit and History but also for all my classes. I understand where Mr. Kay and Mr. Pouliot are coming from, but I am having issues with other teacher’s stepping up to the plate to make sure that the students get the material and get that we can’t learn four different ways of doing something for one problem. I try hard in school to get good grades and to not completely irritate my teachers, but I do not understand why some teachers can’t learn from their students what is best for them along with their students. I don’t like having to teach myself the material when it is the teacher’s job to do so. I can agree that I can’t look in the mirror and say I have done the best that I can because I haven’t. I cannot even count on two hands the amount of times that I have slaked already this year. That is what I want to achieve, which is to work harder than I already am to be able to look in the mirror and say that I have at least worked hard at achieving my goals. I am going to try to be one step ahead of that one teacher who does not, as Mr. Kay put it, guide me to the next level in my life. I will make sure I get a good grade in that class regardless of the teachers lack to proving the information in class and to make sure that I prove how much he needs to help his students achieve the grade they disserve. If I do not do that, I will be disappointed in myself for not doing what I believe is right for myself and other students. It would be nice to see that he understand that he needs to change his teaching method, for many of the other students I have talked to, cannot learn through his teaching methods. Although, he has been around for so long, I think that he won’t change his ways, but I will try my best to help myself and any other future students. All, in all, I want to do better as a student and I want to make my parents proud, but I will not sit back and watch my grade slip because of a teacher who can’t perform his duties to instruct the class in a manner that the students are able to achieve their goals.

I only have a few goals for the next six weeks. One of them is to keep up on my school work. This year I've done better then my previous years. I'm actaully working hard and studying. I plan on doing novel writing month and setting a word goal. By the end of next month I plan on having a novel writen. Another goal of mine is that if I get a job, I will be able to balance church, school, and my job. I know I will succeed in all my goals. :)

Over the next six weeks, I would like try and get all A's and A-'s. I came close this past cardmarking, but close doesnt count. I feel that in Mr. Pouliots class, if I study more for the tests that I could easily get and A in there. Your class is hard as usual but I got A's last year so I know I can get them this year. I just need to discipline myself more and take the time to study for tests and quizzes. In your class I just need to remember to do blogs and study for vocab quizzes. This alone will get me a decent grade and the rest will come with projects and papers. My parents have motivated me by saying if I cget all A's that each cardmarking they will buy me something for my jeep. This has kept me motivated so far and should do so in the future.

One of my major goals this cardmarking is to get all A's or A-'s in all of my classes. That is a long term goal though, a short term goal i have for this card marking is to get an A or B on all of my vocab quizzes. I havent been very good at studying my vocab every week, making me do poorly on the quizzes. So my goal is to study a lot harder for those, becuase it may not seem like it would bring my grade down at all, but it does. I also will put more pride in my work. Sometimes i find myself really lazy about assignments and rush through them just to get them done. But this card marking i will put more quality in my work so i will get a higher grade on that particular assignment. Some positive consequences are that i get an overall better grade in the class and feel better about myslef that i tryed, because if i tryed as hard as i could, thats all that matters. So overall, i will study more for tests and quizzes and put more quaility into my work.

Unknown said...

This cardmarking i was furious with myself. I looked into my own thought and said seriously how can you be that lazy? I finally started to actually try in school. for my goals this cardmarking i am going to get better grades not only this class but in all of my classes. The one thing i had a problem with was being lazy. If i wasn't lazy i could have gotten all A's, no doubt about it. At times like these i appreciate my parents and my teachers that give me feedback. If i dont actually steo it up and improve in laziness, then i will probably be very upset, but the thing that is most consequencial is that i wont make it through college if i am lazy.

My goal for the next six weeks is time management. Handling my work load for school plus a job is getting to be very difficult. I ended last cardmarking with A's and B's but i should be doing better than average. It's important to not only me, but my family that i succeed. All of this work will be for nothing if i dont kick it into gear. So, hopefully i can learn how to manage school, homework, work, and seeing my friends better. The only positive thing i could think of to set up for myself if i do exceed, is to think how much better that would be on my college transcripts. Also that I can look myself in the mirror and say i tried my hardest.

Rachel Kuehn said...

Mr. Kay, for discussions' sake, i would like to bring something up. Maybe it just takes some kids longer to relize the importance of their education due to the environment that they have grown up in. It is difficult to be motivated and to strive for what you call success when you have grown up not seeing what the rewards of hard work and dedication can be. Most kids never see their parents, or any other adult in their lives using some of the skills that we are learning, even if they are very important. When you never see something put to use and have grown up seeing that it is useless, would you have any reason to want to learn about it. It is also important to see that maybe some kids have never seen how bad things could get for them if they continue with these bad habits. Yes, theh've heard about it a billion times from their parents and teachers, but they havn't really seen how miserable life can be when you dont strive for success. So it is sort of arragont (for lack of a better word) to assume that they are doing these things just to disrespect you, or simply because they are lazy. Maybe they are just unmotivated and they feel discouraged when teachers are constantly using punishment and demining lectures to try to correct their way. Maybe we just have to look a bit deeper into the issue and try to support students who are struggeling to find motivation. I'm not saying we should baby them, because if a kid simply dosn't care if they fail, then thats their own choice, but if someone wants to succeed, but simply dosn't see the point, then it is vital that we to what we can to give them a reason. So rather than telling us what we should be doing, tell us why. *just for discussions sake :)

Anyways...For this card marking, i really need to focus on doing the things that arent challenging to me as well as those that are. Last card marking, i didnt do the things that i thought were easy, mostly because i thought they were point less. But, as pointless as they may seem to me, ive got to suck it up and do them. Last cardmaking it was the small assignments that took my grades down. I really need to get it together this cardmarking and get the easy stuff done. I also need to work on studying for tests in my harder classes. Im used to never having to study because things just came naturaly to me, but my AP bio class is kickin my butt so far, and i really need to work on getting my test scores up. This way i can get a semidecent grade in that class. :)

I am a horirable test taker. i study my ass off and i never do good on them. aslo i have been pretty good about doiing my home work so i would like to keep that up. This past card-marking I did a LOT better then I expected to do, and I was happy with it. But, with a new card marking starting, I want to do better. I want to do better in your class, and my other classes. One of my biggest problems, with any lit class, I basically rebel all required reading books. No matter how much I love to read, I almost refuse to read required books. I want to change that, it's one of my goals for the whole year. It's a bad habit, and I need to break it. A simple way to achieve that goal is to just read the book. It's not hard, I just have to read. A negative consquence of not doing the readings would be getting bad grades on quizzes, and worksheets that go along with the reading. This school year is important, its the year colleges look at. I have to get good grades this year, not only because I need too, but because I want too. I really haven't decided what I want to do with my life, but whatever I decide, I need to go to college for; I can't go to college if I fail.

The positive of this is that inwill be get my grades up and being more interactive in school. A negitive is that I would be having less free time to do stressless things after school. I really just want to get my shoulder healed and try to get fought back up and then get the grades I deserve.

For this cardmaking I strive to work just as hard if not harder than I did last cardmarking. In lit I'd like to improve my grades. I could for help more often if I don't understand something. In algebra I hope I can get just as good a grade or better this cardmarking. I'm not sure I can work harder than I already am though. In history I'd like to do better on tests and quizzes. I know I can study harder to do so. For spanish two I can work harder to get a B or better like last cardmarking. In physics I need to ask for help when I need instead of trying to figure it out on my own. If I do not meet these goals my dreams will be shattered and impossible to reach. College would be out of my league, and I'd probably end up stuck at home my whole life because I screwed up in highschool.

My goal for this card marking is to get a 4.0. to meet these goals i need to study more for tests and quizzes. I think those are what screwed up some of my grades this term was not being prepared for a quiz or test. If i don't meet that goal, i don't think there will really be any consequences about it except being disappointed. i cant say that at the end of the card marking i did everything that i could to get the best grades i'm capable of, but i did my best to maintain a healthy balance. I've had days that i came home from school and didn't finish all of my hw until 7 and even after that I'd have to study. I'll study a little but i still have other things i have to do. i don't think the best means constantly working, actually i think that makes more stressful. i think you need to find a good balance between work and other things.

I'm going to try my hardest to make all the work I do, something I'm proud of and not scared to show it off. Another thing I'm going to try to improve on is my test taking. I'm really bad at understanding all the material. But most of all I'm going to actually push myself into getting the good grades that I want to be able to show off.

My goals for this next cardmarking are to do the same, but work harder in my Lit class and Algerbra 2 class. I need to work on getting the little things done becuase those really do impact your grades drasticly. I am sick of always being grounded for my grades. When I could just do the little things that I could've done that don't even take that much time out of my life. I also realized when listening to Mr. Pouliot and yourself that all the things that we as high schoolers think matter the most don't. It is about our futures and our education in the here and now determines our future. A successful life is not just given to you, you must earn it through hard work and dedication. Work is rewarded bysomething. Whether it is your own satisfaction or a reward from your parents. Hard work pays off and should not be taken as a joke or for granted. If I don't meet these goals of working to my fullest potential I will feel that I let myself down. I have jepordized my future and therefore my entire life ahead of me. I will achieve my goals one way or another.

This past card marking i did really good. I didnt get any D's. This next cradmarking i hope i can do just as good. I think i can meet these goals by just turning in my homework and not failing any tests. Since im not going to collage and i'll be stitting at home waving good by to all my friends if i just get D's or better i can join the military. But if I fail high school i'll problay live at home with my family which i would hate to do. Maybe i could study for some of my tests so i dont fail all of them.

Over the next 6 weeks my goals in school are relatively simple. I tried my hardest the first six weeks, getting all A's and only one A-. So basically, my goal is to just keep up a steady pace, push through the school year, and before I know it summer will be here then I can relax. The only one thing I want to change is to get the A- up to an A like the rest, other than that, keep up the good work. It isnt hard for me to exceed in school, it was pretty easy to get all A's the first term actually. Its because I am the one who pushes myself. I do it for myself. It isnt my parents, or teachers, or friends, or anyone else pushing me to get good grades, its just me, and I want to keep it that way. I dont really make negative consequences for myself if I dont reach my goals, I just feel like I've let myself down, and I know I couldve done better.

My goals for the next six weeks is to stay focused on school. When in class I tend not to pay attention as good as I should. The class I need to work on the most is math. I'm not very good at it and not paying great attention does not help. Now starting next week I am staying after school every Tuesday and thursday just for math. Hopefully I can get away with a better grade this time. A negative consequence would really be for me to have my hunting taken away. I don't even think I could do that to myself so I will just try to do my best. A positive consequence really is that I will benifit myself more by using more effort thus bringing my grade up.

My goals for education over the next weeks is to do better than I did in the past six weeks. When I say this I mean try to get above a 3.5 on my next report card. I also would like to try harder overall. My goal in you're class is to turn everything in. I can meet these goals by managing my time, so that I can do all my work and do my best at it. Some positive aspects of this are retaining more knowledge, my parents will be pround, and I will have a better chance in getting in to better colleges. Some negative aspects of this would be less free timeto do what I want.

This past card marking, I thought I was doing better than I did. I didnt get any D's, which was one of my Goals. But this time I wanna do better. so im going to try and Get all b's and A's. If i do that, even have a c i will be able to get my licenses. So thats something thats going to push me twords that Goal. It really sucks not having my licenses when Mannah does. I'm also going to try and do better on my tests. By achieving that i just have to study more. Not a hard task.

I'm not going to lie. I really have worked to my potential. I really need to start getting my grade up, and quit slacking. Because i want to make up for my slacking last year. This card marking i'm going to do my homework as soon as i get home, instead of waiting until i'm tired and want to go to bed. I need to start trying really hard in math, and try and get extra help. because i suck in that subject. And i'm going to start working more and socialize less. i'm not going to make any consequences for myself, because i know my parents will do that for me. If my grades don't improve, no phone and no friends. so thats really pushing me to work harder. So i'm really going to start getting on track. I think i'm going to set myself some rules. like i have to do my homework before i can use my phone to text anyone. because thats really distracting when i'm trying to do my homework. But knowing me, i probably won't stick to that, but i'll try.

Last cardmarking I didnt do as well as I would have liked. So, this cardmarking Im hoping I will do better. I know I can do better than what I am doing now. My first goal is to turn in all my homework. I havent compelted all my homework for the last cardmarking. So this upcoming one Im going to try and make sure I get all of my assigments completed.
Second, I need to study harder for my tests so I can make sure I pass all of them. My last goal is pay more attention during class. I know if I pay closer attention better in class I will do better.

In the next six weeks, I will want to further my education by setting goals for myself. I will want to do better on quizzes and tests. I've never been a great test taker, but I always try my best. In both math and science, I haven't understood the concepts. Some of the things that are taught to me are somewhat hard to understand. I would like to have a clearer mind in the future. I can meet these goals by studying harder, and getting more rest. I have found that getting more sleep helps me do better in class. If a meet these goals, I will do better in school and in life as well. If I do not meet these goals, I may be just making my life harder. In the future, no matter what, I will want to try as hard as I can to get the best education that I can.

My goals for this year are to get very high grades. in other words, get better than c's in all classes. This includes turning in all work for every class, and making sure i study from my notes. My biggest problem for lit was the grades from my vocab quizes. Studying is really the only way to improve the grades for them. Then my other goal is to finish all blogs for the rest of the year. It was just a matter of getting them done, because the biggest reason i didnt do most of the blogs was simply being lazy and not doin them. The last goal for the year that is very simple is to keep track of all assignmnts, and organize all my work in my binders because for last term, if you had all assignments done and in order, you recieved quite alot of extra credit for doing that, so that can benefitial to my grade.

My goals for the next six weeks is to put more effort in the subjects that I have not achieved an A in. In Mr. Kay's class I need to continue to work on my grammar and take notes when needed. Spanish I need to study a little more for my quiz's. Algebra II I did well; but if I work a little harder on my test grade's I should have an A. The main thing I need to do for the next 6 weeks is stay focused, complete all of my homework, and study for tests. The study habits we develop in high school are important to how well we do in college. The consequences of me not keeping up my GPA is it will effect my membership in NHS. Basically, I am going to keep up what I am currently doing and put more effort in the things I don't do so well in. The positive consequences of achieving a good GPA is the opportunities it will give you. Ultimately, the goals I set in high school will determine what colleges I get into and if you don't have a good education; you will end up with a job that doesn't provide well.

My goals for this card marking is to work hard and get another 4.0. Getting one last card marking was difficult suprisingly, because usually I only have a couple difficult classes. I feel like I've been staying up past midnight a lot doing homework the entire night and still not finishing. I am also trying to not get sick again, because that is putting me behind in school. I guess I'm going to have to push through this term just like the last one, and unfortunately that means less and less sleep. If I do nto meet my goals, it will not be the end of the world, but I will not be able to up my gpa. Even though I already have over a 3.9, I feel like I could be doing a lot better for how good of a student I am. Getting good grades is about more than just high school, it's to help me get scholarships to pay for college. I have no money for college and neither do my parents, so any way I can work at getting money for it, I am going to try my best to do.

One of my goals for this six weeks is going to be to participate in class more. It is really hard for me because I am so tired evey day I go into school. However, I am really going to try to answer a question if I know it, because I know when I get into the real world I will need to speak my mind and not be so quiet. In AP Physics I am going to try to do all five problems we are assigned as homework, not just the three that are required. This was I get more practice and I will hopefully feel more confortable on the test every week. In Spanish I will try to study every night. This in turn will help me on the tests, as Spanish is not one of my strong subjects. Overall, I think these goals are pretty attainable. Above all, I want to continue to get great grades because Junior year is especially important for college. If I let my grades slip I will suffer and I might not be able to get into the college that I would like.

This past card marking, I was proud of my results and my GPA. I received 3 A's and 3 B's, with a GPA of a 3.4. I have noticed that my grades are improving. However, I feel like I can accomplish so much more. Like I said at the beginning of the school year, I really would like to improve my test grades. Honestly, I have to say, I never do well on tests. That's what mainly brings my grade down, unfortunately. Now that I have a small break from poms, I'll have more time to study and I won't be rushed or exhausted from a very long and busy day. I am hoping to spend more time studying in your class on vocabulary, I don't want to fail another again, Mr. Pouliot's class, especially for the tests and pop quizzes, Chemistry on the tests, and most definitely in Algebra 2. I must say Algebra 2 may be my hardest subject. What I noticed is when I feel I didn't do well on something, I really kick myself down because of it, possibly a little more than I should. Also, I also think negative thoughts, which I want that to end so I can receive more confidence, which I lack. Something positive, is that whenever I feel I did well, I'm very happy, chipper, and have confidence. Also I feel proud of myself, it's a good feeling! [:

For this cardmarking I have many goals. I would like to raise my grade alot in kays class. My other grades are not to bad but kays class really pulled me down. I think taking the time to put effort in my blogs and Lord of the Flies worksheets would help. I think I really could of done better last cardmarking in every class. If I put more effort into my clases ill get better grades. This cardmarking im going to try harder in kays class.

This past cardmarking, i had surprising average grades, but there didnt satisfy my goals. I just set the bar, and now i have to exceed that limit this cardmarking. This new cardmarking, i want to try to get all a's and b's, mostly a's because i want to prove to myself that i can get above a 3.0 average. Ways i could meet those goals are to ge tmy homework done the day its assigned, and study harder for tests, to make sure i get a better grade, and so im more confident in my answers. Consequences i'm making for myself if i do not meet my goals are less tv and more working on school.

With the new card marking, I feel that I need to step up and do what I am capable of. A goal of mine is to bring the grade I have in literature up to what I have in my other classes. I know exactly why I have this grade and I totally deserve it. Just because I dislike writing/ anything that involves literature doesn't necessarily mean that I don't have to do it. Therefore, I am going to try harder and complete the things I need to do because it would be in my best interest. Another goal of mine is to try harder in my other classes. I don’t like hearing my parents tell me that I can do better when deep down I know that as well. Usually I will just do things to get them done for the grade, but that is not satisfying to me knowing I can do better. Meeting these goals of mine will give positive consequences to myself and make my parents proud.

My goals for education over the next six weeks are things like studying for tests, and not getting behind on homework. To meet these goals, I just need to stay on top of things. I need to be aware of whats going on in my classes and what I need to get done to be successful. I would hope if I do these things, I will get the results I expect, which would be a positive step in my education. If I dont do these, the consequences would be me getting behind which would equal a bad grade. I would also be regressing away from my goals of getting good grades and getting into a good college. Its important to me that I keep on track with all my classes and work hard to get the grades I want to reach.

The last card marking i was happy in some aspects of my grades but they could improve a lot more. I took today's conversation into consideration and i realize how important the next two years of my life are. The junior year is said to be the most changeling and important year of high school. I agree and its going to determine my future for the rest of my life. I don't want to look back and ask myself could i of done better, i want to be able to leave this year satisfied that i have done my best. My goals for this card marking is to improve my testing in all classes. Im satisfied that if i can test my grades will improve more.

This year has been quiet different so far. Iv realized that 11th grade is were teachers start expecting more out of us. I admitt i havent put all my effort into my school work so far this year, and i really do want to get grades. I feel bad for acting like its the teachers fault and saying "why do they have to be so hard on us or why are they being an ass". I know that its not their fault its my own and and i take responsibility for that. their just trying to do what they think is best for us. this card marking i did averege, im done with doing averege i really want to do GREAT, i want to take a report card home to my parents that has nothin less then a b. my goals for this is to start taking pride in my work and responsibility for my decisions about my future. i want to be succesful in the future so this is were i need to start showing that i can and that i have the ability to do so.

For this up coming marking period i would like to focus in more on my work. I feel i did alright this past marking period but i know if i push myself i can receive a better grade. I also want to stop just passing by. I want to cherish my education more. I don't want to just pass by like i have been for the last couple of years. I know that i can do better than i have been so for this next marking period i would like to push myself to get better than a 3.0. If i can do this my mother will be very proud of me and i will also be very happy with myself. If i can achieve this goal i can create more goals to better myself in the future.

This past card marking I didn't do as well as would have liked to. For my future goals I would like to improve my grade in my psychology class. I could have done better if I would have stidied harder. Also I would like to improve my grade in your class because if I would have studied more often I would have done better on the vocabulary quizes. Overall through My grades weren't bad as most of my grades were B's. I could improve my grade in Mr. Kay's class by taking notes when his has them on the powerpoint slides. For example I should have wrote down notes yesterday and that would have helped me on the quiz we had today.

My goal for this new cardmarking is to study better for my quizzes in order to get better grades. Since I am not in tennis any more I will have more time to study for my quizzes. If I don’t study for quizzes and do badly over all In Spanish I will be getting a tutor to help me improve. If I don’t do well and fail and have to take it over again but I do not feel doing that again. Another goal is to get every assignment turned in on time. An important goal is to get things together so I can find out what college that I could go to. Overall I need to try harder on doing my work.

I think i have a lot of new goals for this term. Overall though i did pretty good this first term. I think overall though i need to focus at all times. Their are always those days when i get bored and tired when i dont try hard. I need to buckle down and focus those days. I think my gpa could go up even more if i did that. I think i need to stop talking to my friends in class too. I think if i dont do these things their are many consequesnces. I think the biggest one would not being able to get into good colleges though. If i dont start focusing more i wont be able to keep my gpa up and do well.

My goal for the next six weeks is to keep motivated. Lit used to be my favorite subject and my best subject, but last year it changed to history. My grades have been really good in all classes except lit. I have literally worked my ass off and stressed out the past six weeks getting all a's on my tests in chem and never below a b in any other class. I have to ask Mr. Carlson if we can do relaxation at least twice a week because I'm so damn stressed out. I knew being a junior would be stressful and i was ready, and I am still ready for the challenges. I have to say being stressed is actually paying off when I look at my grades. Things are pretty easy for me right now. If I end up slacking and not doing my work I'm going to probably iscolate myself and keep focused on only work for school. I'm not going to put up with any less than my best this year.

For the next 6 weeks I am going to improve my grades, and study more fot tests in certain classes. I did fairly decent in most of my classes during the 1st marking period, but I think I could improve. The class I am going to try and do better in is algebra 2. I usually do good on my test in most classes but math, I don't. I am going to study all the homework and reviews he gives us. If I do not meet these goals, some negative things tha that could happen would be; I would fail the class, I would get in trouble, and possibly lose my parking spot. Some positive things that would come out of following through with these goals would be, that I would not get in trouble, I would get a good report card, I would pass all tests, and I would not lose my parking spot. I can meet these goals by following through by; studying every night, and getting all my work turned in on time.

This past cardmarking i did okay as far as my grades go but id really like to step it up even more. This years the most important year as far as applying to colleges goes and thats something i really stress out about. For the next card marking im just going to make sure i do my best on everything and really put more of an effort into my grades. Also, i took my first ACT this weekend and my mom has really high hopes for my score. So, im really hoping i did well on it. My grades are really important to me. I just really hope i stay consistant all year and do very well.
