The symbolism of the conch is that it represents order and power. The conch is loud when someone blows into it. To have order there has to be someone who is loud so that everyone can understand what is happening. When people hear a noise, they follow it. So having an item which gets people's attention is very powerful. In Planet of the Apes the head Apes who run the planet symbolize power. They have guns and horses which help them seem more powerful. Also, the head Apes can talk, and the others cannot. Being able to talk can also be a symbol that represents power. A type of power symbol in my life is having a car and a license. This symbol has power because you could take yourself places and not rely on others. If someone needed to get somewhere they would have the power to do that. When your young your parents have all the power. If you needed to get somewhere you would have to ask your parents to drive you there. When you get older and get your license, you have the power to go places without asking for your parents help.

I think that the conch symbolizes the boys gathering as one. It seems to have so much power because the boys use the conch as a central focus of their gatherings. The conches appearance is so beatiful that it symbolizes power, therefore the person holding the conch has the power. I personally did not see anything that really symbolizes power so far in Planet of the Apes. I think that in our society money is a symbol of power. It seems as though that people in our society who have money are the ones that do the decision making.
I think that the conch symbolizes having power and having order. I Think this because Ralph blows the conch so they have order. THe assemblys he calls are in a orderly fashion. In the movie Planet of the Apes i think that the Apes symbolioze power. The Apes are the ones that control everything. In my life my parents are a symol of power. They have the power over everything i do. And say wut the rules are int he household.

I believe that the symbolism of the conch is leadership or authority.I think that the conch has a lot of power because it has been present throughout the entire story since the beginning. I also believe that because it attains the attention of the other boys makes it very powerful. It's sound is a kind of calling for authority because the other boys obey its command (when blown go to assembly on the beach). In Planet of the Apes a symbol of power could be the guns the apes use to catch the humans. There are also symbols ment to degrate others to let then know they are under power. For example, the cages the apes keep the humans in. They treat the humans like wild animals. In our society today a sign of power could be your job. If you are the CEO of a company you have power over all the people that work for your company. Your job determines everything in your life. Your paycheck allows you to buy things or not to. The amount affects what type of clothes you wear, the type of house you live in,and even where you live.
Power could be a dangerous thing.

The symbolism of the conch is organization and leadership. It represents everything organized in a society that is out of control. It has so much power because of this reason. The boys have no other figure of authority or organization on the island, so they prize the conch because of what is stands for. The characteristics that are in common with what it symbolizes is that the conch really does bring organization to the island. Whenever Ralph wants them to gather, the conch is what brings them together. In the first part of the plant of the apes, I don't think there is a symbol that represents power, but it is obvious that there is more power with the apes rather than humans. I think that in society money is a big symbol of power. This is possibly because not many have a lot of money, and a lot of people want money. In my family, a symbol of power would probably be knowledge. Usually it is who knows what that has the power. But usually the power is based on age at my house.
The is a sign of power and this conch has so much power because it establishes authority. When you dont have any authority it will create a whole bunch of confusion and people will become power hungry. A conch is very strong and durable and the conch is supposed to represent power and if you have something so strong it is going to be respected as powerful. During the movie i couldnt really pick out a symbol of power. the only thing that i could see as power is when the apes attacked they were on horses. Horses are very powerful animals and they have been used for centurys upon centurys and are a very valueable and trustworthy animal to use because they are reliable. The symbol for power in my family would definatly have to be my parents wedding rings because i respect all of what they have done for me and my brothers and it is a symbol of how powerful they can be whenever they work together.
Will Michaels 2nd hour
In Lord of the Flies, the conch shell symbolizes power. It has so much power, because it is what calls all the meetings, and it represents the power to talk in a meeting. Also it symbolizes the leader of the island, which is Ralph. The characteristics it has is that it is loud. When someone hears a loud noise they will follow it, making it seem powerful. In the Planet of the Apes, the thing representing power is the apes that run the island. They have guns and weapons making them superior and more powerful to the other apes on the island. In society, i think a big symbol of power is age. No matter what, people who are older automatically think they are more powerful or smarter than younger people. I don't think its fair, but in society thats what most people do.
the conch symbloizes authority. the leader holds the conch and if one of the kids is holding the conch they may speak without interuptionn.in planet of the apes i did not notice ant symbol of power, naturally i would say the gun was a symbol of power but the never used in so maybe the symbol of power is being an ape because the humans have no control.in my life the power symbol is the number 18 because thats wen i wil get absolute freedom
In Lord of the Flies, the conch represents authority and civilization. It has so much power because it holds authority and some sense of rules to it. Untill the end, most of the boys still respected the conch and its rules. The conch is big and beautiful so people look to it as a symbol as authority and pride. In the Planet of the Apes, I think the use of language is symbol that represents power. Communication and knowlegde of sharing information is very important. Since that man can speak English like the apes, they know that he is special, and not like the other humans. In our society, money is concidered a power symbol. Everything around us has to do with money, and the wealthier are usually more powerful because of what they can buy and how they live.
The symbolism of the conch is power. The conch has so much power because that's how the boys created it. The characteristics that it has in common with what it appears to symbolize are that it is pretty sturdy and looks nice but can make loud noises. They all want to protect it, especially Piggy. In Planed of the Apes, the symbol of power could be the guns or bulls that they're riding on. It is showing the humans that the apes are superior and trying to scare them. A power symbol in society is money. If you have a ton of it, for some reason then all of a sudden everyone likes you and you become powerful. People with little money don't have a say in a lot of things and are often looked down upon in society. I don't think this is fair but its how things are.
The conch symbolizes the power of Ralph and the power of the person when holding the conch. It symbolizes this because when the conch was blown the boys came to met. No matter what they were doing. Also so when one of the boys is holding it because they have to power to talk no one else can speak but Ralph because he’s the chief. I haven’t seen anything in the movie to symbolize power yet. In our society I think money is a symbol of power. Because you get judged on weather or not you have money. If you don’t have a lot you usually don’t have a lot of power.
I think the conch sybolizes power, order, and leadership. It is like having an adult to keep everything in order. When someone holds the conch everyone stops and listens as if they were still in school and the teacher was trying to talk to them. I think in the first part of Planet of the Apes, knowledge represnts power. It seems that the apes control the humans due to their superior intellect, as we do with apes in our time. I think that money, fame, and glory are a symbol of power in our society. In our society people seem to surround themselves with things that deal with people who have money, fame, and glory. People think as people with those things as a different type of person. The more money, fame, and glory a person has they are placed in different categories. There are three main categories people are placed in: high class, medium class, and lower class.
The conch shell represents the boys being unified. At the beginning of the story the conch shell represents the boys coming together and being one, toward the end of the novel that power fades and so does the conch once the rock falls on it. I can relate the conch shell to Ralph. He makes a great leader in the beginning of the story, yet in the end he looses the power he gained in the first place. I mean, at first Ralph gets all this attention and then after everything with jack he get rocks thrown at him once he losses power. At this point of the movie I can’t really tell what would be a symbol close the conch in “Lord of the Flies”, but I think that George Taylor’s voice is the symbol that kind of represents the conch shell. He was a leader for his crew, now that he can’t talk, he can’t lead or show that he is a leader. My conch shell is my family; if I didn’t have them I would be nothing. Jamie is my best friend and if I didn’t have her I don’t know what I would do. We have been friends since third grade and never stopped being friends since. She is my conch shell, if I didn’t have her as my friend, I would not be able to be strong.

Give an example in your life of some type of power symbol.
The conch is a symbolism of unity, rules and organization. kind of like the sense of a government in a community. The conch has such power because it was the first rule created and it ties them to the culture of rules and order they had back home. It's characteristic of being able to blow the conch to bring the boys together is its unity. Honestly i'm not sure what symbolism is the same as the conch in the planet of the apes, my best guess would be the apes guns. They use the guns to create order and rule over the people. an example of the conch in my life would be the American flag. it unifies the citizens in the country.
What is the symbolism of the conch? Why does it seem to have so much power? What characteristics does it have in common with what it appears to symbolize? In the first part of Planet of the Apes, is there any symbol that is like the conch or a symbol that might represent power? Give an example in your life of some type of power symbol. This could be in your family or society and explain why that symbol has power.
The conch is a way of power, and organization. It seems to have so much power because is projects the persons voice. This makes them seem loud and powerful. This is similar to what it simbloizes because power is persuading, and loud. Whoever has this is appeared to be very powerful. In planet of the apes the guns and weapons were very powerful, however another power is their ability to speak. Their are seemed powerful because they can use thier mouths to intimidate and make orders. In my life i see a power symbol as a captain on the team. They have the power to make the team listen to them, the power to encourage, and the power to take charge. Also, i see a symbol to power as money. If you have money you have power.
The symbolism of the conch is that ir represents power and away to keep order. In LOTF the person speaking has the power. It represents order, whenever an assembly is called the conch is used. It has the characteristic of being able to be loud and reach the attention of the other boys; therefore, providing order to the group. In the first part of Planet of the Apes, the apes being able to speak English represented power. Having the capability of communication gave them power. Also, they used the power of weapons to keep order. My car represents a symbol in my household; my parents use this as a way of punishment. They know if I can't drive my car I lose some of my independence.
The symbolism of the conch is authority and order. When it is blown everyone comes. That is how it displays order. It is also very loud, which is why I say it gives it authoruty. When someone blows it everyone comes running (or at least in the first part of the book). It is a very orederly shell, too. Somehow it was formed to be able to blow into it and make a loud noise. In this way it has order, becasue it was carefully put together. The guns of the Apes kind of symbolize the power that the conch has. They are able to get the humans to do what they want with the guns. Everyone goes running when they hear them, just like the conch. A power symbol in my life and many other peoples lives is monee and how society is divided up into classes. Upper class people have more power than lower class people whether you like it or not.
I believe that the symbolism of the conch is leadership and or power. I think that the conch has a lot of power because it has been there since they crashed on the stupid island.I also belive that because when ever the conch is blow all the boys assemble on the beach. in the first part of planet of the apes i dont think there is anything that represents power. I think our social class is a sign of power, where we stand and who we listen to. Power is a dangerous thing and should not be taken advantage of.
I believe that the conch symbolizes authority. It has so much power because it's a link to the adult world and it has control over the group. Authority is having control over something and thats linked to the adult world. I don't believe theres a symbol yet that represents power. Theres not a materialistic thing that they have that controls them. In my life a power symbol would be my teachers. They have the power to tell us what work to do, what tests to take and even where to sit. They control us 6 hours a day in every class. Others more lienant then others, but they still have the power.
The conch resembles power and control. It has so much power because its something everyone worships and admires. It is used to call meetings and give a single individual complete control over the majority. The apes are what I could think of which represents a symbol of power. They clearly run the planet and the humans. This makes the astronauts feel out of place because where their from its the other way around. I think my referee jersey is a symbol of power. When I ref, im in control and I have the ability to card a player or coach, or throw a parent out of the game.
The conch which is used by the kids, symbolizes the right of order or power. I feel the reason it conatains so muh power is due to the fact that it was the item that was first found and used to gather all of the kids on the island back together. It also contains power when one is to hold it, giving that person the right to speek in turn with no inturuptions. In the movie, planet of the apes, i didnt personally notice any great significant thing that symbolized power besides the apes them selves. The Apes are the only ones on the island besides all of the mutes and reversed from earth, it is the apes who speech and look at the humans like what are these creatures in astonishent. In life, we are not that desperate to really power off a simple object but one main person may be the president due to the carrying of power he conatins. In my family it is the same thing, I find that my parents really are the ones who carry power giving them the right to tell me and my brother what we can and cant do. Cause just thinking about it i cant really find a main thing that would simbolize order.
conman
The symbolism of the conch represents power on the island. It also could represent order, for the most part it keeps people from speaking out when other people are talking. The conch is loud and in order to have power you have to be able to be loud at times or if you want order you have to have a leader who can be loud. In Planet of the Apes, the apes have guns and horses where as the humans don't. And so the apes have power over the humans because they have weapons. An example of power in todays society could be money. Usually if you are more wealthy, you have more power. That doesnt really seem fair to have it that way, but its how our society is. In a familiy sense usually age is a power symbol, if your older you have more power over those who are younger than you.

The conch symbolizes leadership strength and overall power. It has so much power because the kids follow the rules that come with the conch. For instance not talking when a person has the conch. The person who has the conch has overall power at the time except for Ralph who can interrupt at any time. A police badge is an example of power. When the cops put that on they have power to arrest people and do what's necessary to keep people safe. Another example of power is guns if someone has a gun you usually do what they say. In planet of the apes they use guns to gain power over the humans. A symbol of power in my society would be the front of the room at school. when you are up there you are expected to be listened to.

The conch symbolizes civilization. It was the last thing that gave the boys hope. The conch brought the boys together and kept them at least somewhat civilized. In the Planet of the Apes the symbol of power could've been the spaceship that the men came in. I say this because the spaceship represented how smart they were. A symbol of power in my life is the bible and the lord Himself. He's amazing in every way and the bible is his word in writing form.

The conch symbolizes a few things. I think it symbolizes order in many ways. Whenever the conch is blown, the boys must gather at the beach. I also think that the conch represents power. Whenever the conch is in they hands of someone, they have the power for that time. I think that the guns could maybe symbolize power because they remind the humans who is dominant. In todays economic times, the people who have money have the power. Many peoples houses have been foreclosed and prices are really cheap for someone who an afford to buy.Money is important because it pretty much determines where you live, what you do, and what clothes you wear.
Cody K
The symbolism of the conch is power. Whoever has the conch has the right to speak, and everyone has to listen to them. The speaker puts his thoughts out for discusion. So, whenever the boys hear the sound of the conch being blown they have to be quite and listen. In the first part of Plant of the Apes the lead ape has power also. The apes keep the humans in cages, so that shows everyone that they are powerful. But also, the head ape can talk, and the others can't. In my life my dad is a symbol of power. He makes all the rules for me, and does everything he can to keep me safe. He has power over me, and can tell me what to do and what not to do.
Katlin Gotshaw

The conch symbolizes leadership. It seems to have so much power because it brings everyone together and shows order. People are attracted by sound and when the conch is blown, it brings everyone together. This is the common characteristic. The Apes being able to speak shows power. Those who speak are thought to be more intellectual and therefor, more superior. For me, money is a symbol of power. I don't have a lot, but I do pay for my own things which make me have the power to make choices. It shows that I'm independent and power comes along with it.
Kristen Pauly
2nd hr.
The Conch represents many different things, but I think it symbolizes leadership and individualism. When the conch is blown the characters know that something important is going on. In the meeting of the conch shell each person that possesses the conch is the only one to speak. The person gets to express their feelings and thoughts about the issue that why its represents individualism. In the Planet of The Apes a symbol of power could be the guns because the humans they are trying to capture are afraid of them. A symbol of power in my life is a necklace that has been in my family for about 100 years. This necklace is a tradition that has been given down through generations, and it represents the power of my family.
I think that the conch shell represent authority and order. I think this because whenever it is blown everyone on the island drops what they are doing and going to the scar. In the movie "panet of the Apes" the only thing sofar that I have noticed that synbolizes power would be the Apes having guns. This represents power because without it they would have no practical way to control the Humans. Another symbol of power would be the Apes riding on horseback. This shows that they have the power because all of the humans know that they can't out run the horses. For example, the Apes on the horses are just like mounted police officiers, they represt law and order, power, and authority. In our society I think the U.S consitutuion is a symbol for America. I think that because it symbolizes the American culture and what we believe in.
What the conch symbolizes is order and power. Why the conch seems to have so much power is because, when someone blows through it, it makes a loud noise, and everyone knows that when that the conch is blown, there's a assembly. No matter what your doing. The conch is something they can all use, if they want to say something you can just take the conch and you'll be heard. This is a characteristic that the conch has with what it symbolizes. If there wasn't a conch, first off Ralph and Piggy wouldn't have found the other boys as soon as they did with the conch. Also, since your only aloud to speak when holding the conch, without it, everyone would be yelling and screaming, not listening, talking over one another, it would be total chaos. In the first part of Planet of the Apes, the cave men like people were all eating, and the three humans were observing, then there was this loud noise, and everyone stopped, froze in their spots, then dropped what they were doing and ran. This has the same idea of the conch when it is being blown. Also, when the apes came riding on their horses with their guns firing them, it represents power, because my first thought was that they were considered the kings of the planet. How I have power in my life is that, I Have to ask my parents if I can do anything. They have power over me, they have to ok everything that I do, and everywhere I go.
Alanna Nagi
2nd hour
In the book lord of the flies, the conch symbolizes power. when a person has it, it gives them power to talk. Also Jack and ralph can use to assemble meetings and it shows that they are in charge. Another example of a symbol of power is in the movie planet of the apes. In this movie the voice symbolizes power. The apes can talk which makes them seem superior, although the men that crashed can comprehend they are unable to talk so it makes them seem inferior. Another example is in school. Hall passes are used as a symbol of power. if you have one you are allowed to roam the halls freely, if you don't you can get in trouble.
The conch in Lord Of The Flies symbolizes leadership and order. This conch as so much power because it can be heard by everyone and it's the only think on the island that they can use to communicate. It has characteristics it has in common with what is symbolizes. These are that the conch is very fragile and so is leadership because once you do something wrong everyone can turn on you and nothing would be the same again, just like if you broke the conch and tried to put it back together. In the Planet of the Apes the weapons they use symbolize power. When they get the human the use the guns to do that. In my life something that symbolizes power would be money. I say this because my parents are the ones in my house with the money so whenever my sisters and I need money we must ask them and they don't have to give it to us. Therefore my parents have control over us with the money.
The symbolism the conch shows is authority. The conch has so much power because it's unique and is a good attention getter. It's characteristics show how it's one of a kind and the one holding it has that one specific authority over others. In Planet of the Apes the weird noise that came from the brush before the attack resembles the conch. That instrument froze everyone in there tracks. That showed a dominance over the humans. One thing in our society today would be money. If you notice people who have more money seem to have a bigger effect over society. They think they are above the rest. This symbol has power because it can get you what you want.
The conch symbolized organization. Because whenever it was blown there was order and everyone came together. When the two groups seperated, Ralph and Piggy kept wanting to resort back to it because they thought that they'd be able to talk without conflict. When the conch was destroyed Ralph seemed lost without it, he didnt know what to do, and the fact that Piggy died along with the conch didn't help at all either. A symbol in the planet of the apes was the gun that one of the guys was carrying. It showed power, but he never resorted to it, even though he was in un explored and unknown territory, where unknown danger could lurk. A symbol of power in my family would be knowledge, because my parents know more than i do, and they can always figure out stuff when i think they dont know. For example, my grades, when i look at them to see what they are, i want to tell my parents as soon as i get home, but right as i walk into the door, my moms already yelling at me and i dont get a chance to explain myself or try to reason. This symbol has power because my grades and passing highschool is very important to my family, and they're trying to so hard to see that i reach my goals.
The conch sybolizes authority, power, and order. When the conch is blown, its loud. The conch has the power to bring the people together. So far, for what we have seen of Planet of the Apes, I haven't really noticed anything that symbolizes power, except maybe talking or intelligence among the Apes. In our society, as much as I hate to admit this, money is a HUGE symbol of power. The more money people have, the more power they have. It's a horrible thing to realize, but it's just how it works. If you really think about it, what public official, or authority personel, lives, rather lived, in poverty, or any form of 'low standards'. It's a lot of bull, but it's true.
Sam Tedder
the conch symbolizes the unity of the group, and the leadership of the one holding it, Ralph. It "gives power" to whoever holds it because the group sees it as the object that unites them. In the begining of the book, all of the kids wanted to stay unified and work together. However, by the end of the group, the conch has lost its symbolism because the group no longer respects what it stands for. none of them really want unity and peace amung themselves. In the Planet of the Apes, the ability to talk symbolizes power like the conch does. in todays society, power is greatly represented by the amount of money people have. It is obvious that people with money have the resources to gain power whereas those with out money remain voiceless.
The symbolism of the conch is power and peace. I think the conch has so much power because the boys needed something consant something that was always there to make up for what they lost. So, in there heads they made up the power of the conch. I think that beauty and wholeness are characteristics of the conch that represent peace and power. In the planet of the apes I think the guns that the apes had represented power. The people new that they had power and that they could conquer them with the guns. In my life and our society money has a lot of power. In actaulity its only paper but in our heads its worth so much. For a teenager money can sometimes be "life or death." If you don't have the money to buy certian things then you wont be cool. It can be very controling.
The symbolism of the conch is that it represents order and power. the conch has a lot of power because when someone blows into it it makes a loud noise to get everyone's attention. If people hear the noise they know what to do. Its almost like the conch is taking control of the society when someone blows into it. The characteristics that are in common with what it symbolizes is that the conch really does bring organization to the island. when Ralph wants to gather the boys, all he has to do it blow the conch and that is what brings them together. In Planed of the Apes, the symbol of power could be the guns or bulls. It is showing the humans that the apes are superior. A power symbol symbol is money. money controls our world. without money no one would get anywhere.
I think the conch represents power and orginization. At the beginning of the book as soon as the conch was blown, everybody came running. It represents power and orginization because when the boys had assemblies, only the person holding the conch could speek. In Planet of The Apes, I think the Apes with the horses and guns symbolize power. The Apes were also organized in how they attacked the human, that could also represent power in away. One symbol of power would be my parents. They tell me what I can do and can't do. Another symbol of power would be money. People with money seem to beable to do things that people with les money can't.

I think that the conch symbolizes leadership and power. It has so much power beacuse everyone realizes it is all they have. They dont have a government so to speak so they obey the conch. Its chareicteristics are authority and following the leader or leadership. I think in the planet of the apes the guns can be like the conch. They symbolize power and authority. The guns say you better obey us or else you will be shot. I think a power symbol in my life is a teacher, coach, or obviously parents. They are all there to get you down the right path. If you dont obey your parents they will ground you. I:f you dont obey your teachers you will get bad grades.

The conch symbolizes power and leadership. It is very loud and makes a bold statement. The person who blows into it has power and shows other people to respect whoever has the conch. The conch seems to have so much power because it calls everyone together for meetings. At these meetings people come up with good ideas and from that people respect and follow the conch. In Planet of the Apes one item that resembles the conch is the guns that the apes held to control the humans. The guns show power and leadership because they make the apes more powerful and they make the apes a better leader.
The conch symbolizes two things. First, is unity. When the Conch is blown, everyone comes running so they can join the meeting. Second, is signifies rules and civility. The first rule, was made about the conch. Only the person who has the conch can speak, save for Ralph. These rules, are what signify the need for a civilized life. If you did not have rules, you would not live a civilized life. The only symbol I can think of that represents power, would be guns. Every one of those apes, had a gun, and it scared the primitive humans. Heck, it scared the astronauts. It was what gave them the power to make them run, and stop eating their crops. A symbol or power in my life would be my car keys. I know, that when my mother dangles my keys, she wants something and she is prepared to threaten the keys to get it. I also know, that there is nothing I can do to stop it, because not only is the registration in her name, but she can legally revoke my license because it is only a level two. This is one of the few symbols of power in my life.
The symbol that the conch represents is power and control. When they blow into the conch, it makes a loud noise. When someones in control there going to have the louder voice in the group. Having something or someone than can get peoples attention is going to be succesful at being a leader. In planet of the apes, the guns that the apes used to chatch the people were a great symbol for showing control. When someone sees a gun, most of the time there first reaction is oh shit, i better listen. In my life my parents represent power. They fully have 100% control over me, most of the time. When they yell at me I listen. When they tell me what to do, i'm most likely going to get up and do it. To me there like the conch in LOTF, when they call for me, I come.
The conch represents unity and the boys being together. The conch seem to have so much power because it is what had brought them together in the first place. It was what set the rules of the island, and they all respected it. The conch characteristics are power, the conch has a certain respect on the island that all the boys value. In the planet of the apes i think the apes themselves represent power. They totally control everything, and the humans all fear them. In my life my parents represent power, they are the symbol of what I believer power is. They control most aspects of my life and enforce these rules.

In the Lord of the Flies the conch is a symbol of unity. When the conch is blown, all the boys come together. It could also be a symbol for power because only the one who has the conch can speak, with the exception of Ralph. In the Planet of the Apes there are many things that could represent power. For example, anything the apes use to control the humans. That being the guns, cages, and nets. Also, the ability to speak could symbolize power. They apes can all speak while the humans are mute, and to the apes that makes them superior. Also, the one doctor ape is interested in "Bright Eyes" because she thinks he has the ability to talk, and that makes him special. In real life there are many things that symbolize power to Americans. The main thing would probably be money. The more money you have the more people tend to listen to you and the more control you have. Also, job position can represent power. The higher up in a company you are, the more control and power you have.
The conch symbolizes power, and organization. Some physical characteristics that it has in common with it's symbolism are that it is loud, and sets the tone, demonstrating power. When it is blown, everyone goes silent. That right there shows power. So far in the Planet of the Apes the one thing that I can maybe see as a symbol like the conch in representing power is just the ability of language. It gives the apes more power than the humans, being able to speak. A symbol in my life that shows power is being of age to drive. Having a license, and being able to drive on my own shows that I have responsibility, and the power to take care of matters on my own.
The symbolism of the conch is order, power, and reason. It has so much power because it is unique and the boys respect it. They do so because it is used to call meetings which would be order. It is a reminder that there is still intellect and rational thought within the boys still. In thr Planet of the Apes the thing that symbloizes power so far, would be the spears and whatnots that the Apes use to caputre or kill the humans. The horses are also a symbol of power because they make the Apes higher and more able to conqure the humans. A symbol of power in my life would be my parents. They have almost complete controll over me, at least at this current moment in time. They have power because I respect and love them. It is just natural to obey their rules and codes and accpet them as my own. As much as I try to think for myself they ultimitly have power over the things I do.

The conch symbolizes many different things. The conch represents power, orginization, leadership, authority, and control. The conch is used so when one person is talkng everyones gives them the respect and doesn't talk. The conch is loud and brings attention to all the boys on the island. The conch also brings orginization to the island, all the boys know what to do when the conch gets blown into. In Planet of the Apes their "conch" or symbolism of power could be their guns. Their guns are used to help scare the humans and trap them. It brings power showing the humans their power or strength. In my life, power is almost entirely by my parents. I have like no power, but when im on my own i have my own power to make the decisions i want to make, so i should make good ones so i dont get the only power i have taken away. Power is very imporant and can be shown in many different circumstances.

The conch symbolizes unity and the control of power. A conch is like a horn that would call everyone to gather. The conch seems to have power because the person holding it has the power. The person has that power until the conch is passed on. I cannot think of anything that symbolizes power at all in anything that we have seen so far in the movie. In my life my parents are the symbols of power in my family. The reason for that is that my mother and father will be in my life guiding and helping me.
The symbolism of the conch shell is structure and community. It has so much power because the boys have made it into a symbol of meetings, discussion, and decision. The conch's sound is like it's symbol of discussion. It's bumps and color represent the varying discussion. I believe that the apes on horses show power in Planet of the Apes. In my life, a power symbol might be my parents. They have authority, and I trust them. People that see them with me know that they are my parents. My parents provide structure in my household and are the people I know that I can always talk to. There is much symbolism of power in all of our lives, it's shown in our books, and in our movies.
The symbolism of the conch is leadership and power. The conch can be heard by anyone from a distance because the signal is so strong. To have order there has to be someone who is orderly and can keepa crowd. Having an item that gets people's attention can be a very powerful thing. In the movie we watched today Planet of the Apes, The head Apes or the ones who look like doctors symbolize power and leadership. They have weapons which help them seem more powerful than they truly are. A symbol of power in my life is my license because once i get my license i am free from parents bugging me while i am driving. When you are young your parents have all of the power. As you get older you start to develop a better sense of leadership and start to slowly gain more power.
The conch represents sructure and power. It has power because it is all the boys have to rely on right now, as a form of rescue. It seems to be the only thing to make the boys listen to a specific someone. In the first part of planet of the apes power is represented by being able to talk and think. Like when the man gets shot in the throat, it effects his speech. He can talk and think like a human being but is hindered because he is healing. When he shows he can think and talk the girl ape is shocked and calls him bright eye. In my life just being a parent is power enough to decide most things in their children's lives. The symbol has power because our parents have done everything for us. The had to grow up fast and learn responsibility. Therefore, we respect them and obey them even if we move out. :)
The conch symbolizes power and authority. When ever one of the boys has it, they are the only ones who can talk. They also use it to assemble meetings. Its loud so whoever has it is powerful in some way. In the movie planet of the apes, the Apes seem more powerful because they are the ones who can talk and they run pretty much everything. They seen more intimadating and because of that they have more authority. An example in my life would be, when my parents leave me and my siblings. Since i'm the oldest i get to be in charge. I'm the one who has the most power, so i can tell them what to do. But when my parents are home they are in charge of the household.
It wouldn't let me post last night.
The conch symbolises organization, rules, laws and civil behavior. It has so much power becuase who ever has it is allowed to state their opinion. The shows rules and organization, that is what it appears to symbolise. In the frist part of planet of the apes, the apes had guns and road on horses. This showed power and showed their superiorty. An example in my life of a power symbol would be money. Money can make people do crazy things and the more you have of it the better chance you have of getting what you want. Money has so much power becuase it can make or break a society, it puts people on the streets and also in very nice homes. Money corups people.
