For my current event i just could not find fins the right thing to do it on untill i came across comcasts top videos. The one on here beoing the one i choose shows an actual footage of two people driving bust out into a brawl. The news repoter was covering a different film when he looked over and caught these two fighting sunday in New York streets. This broadway brawl was between a taxi driver and another persona a bike whom was deliving something. When the shit talking began the taxi driver swerved to scare the bike rider causeing them both off and out of there vehicles and began throwing down in the middle of the street.

As anoher story occurs about angry drivers, it makes me still question how people can get so aggresive and angry about drivers. This is why in drivers ed not to make any gestures back or torwards other drivers because you may not know who exactly you are dealing with till they make a move on you.

Today three men were awarded the nobel peace prize in physics for their research in 1960. Charles Kao, Willard Boyle, and George E. Smith worked on developing the fiber optic cable and the sensor for the heart of a camera. These things laid the foundation for today's computerized images and fast communication. This connects to the world because this development allowed us to communicate worldwide, which provides us with information much more quickly than before. Communication is one of the most important parts of our society, we all depend on communiction daily. Cameras have also have a huge impact on society. We use cameras to capture memories, or to see things that we are not able to attend. The camera gives us a view of the nations trageties and triumps, even if we were not present at the time. The camera assists doctors perform surgery, and spacecrafts document their progress with the camera. One technological advancement opens the door to many more. On Monday three others were awarded the noble peace prize in medicine for discovering a key mechnism in the genetic operation of cells, which has inspired new lines of research into cancer. All new advances such as these affect us because they are what shape our society today.

Today for my current event I am going to blog ablout a story in the news were a local couple's 18 month old child swallowed oxycontin in their home and died. The couple were both sentenced to 15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. What I would like to know is why they were not sentenced for more than that. I think that they should be sentenced to 3rd degree murder at the least. To have the drugs without prescription is one thing, but to have somewere were a child can take it is just absurd. This couple is a good example of parents who are not fit for their duties. This is something that should never have happened, and I would like to know why the couple wasnt charged more harsly. This story just opens up a whole new level of irresponsibility from some of the parents in our world today.

The current even I am choosing to do is about the heating bills this winter. This winter the heatinf bills for people using natural gas is supposed to be $105 less than last years. This is a good thing for many struggling families using natural gas to heat their homes. Families using fuel oil, electric heat or propane are expected to save money as well. This news is especial good for my family becaus i can remeber last year how my mother would complain how our heatin fbill was always so high. Thsi winter isd also expected to be the coldest one in awhile. So the low heating bill will definitly help many families.

In recent studies, scientists have discovered that leafy greens are one of the greatest illness causing foods. There is a break out of 13,568 illnesses because of leafy greens. Personally, I think that the amount of cases breaking out because of food illnesses is partially because people don’t know how to prepare the food. Following Leafy greens on the list of illness causing foods are eggs. The amount of people that don’t fully cook their eggs, are the ones that, I bet, get sick. If people knew what they were doing, I’m sure there wouldn’t be as many break outs. This, to me, makes me aware that I have to watch out for certain things pertaining to food. Although, I’m not going to completely cut greens and eggs out of my diet. Within the community and world, people need to watch that they clean everything they eat and cook it to the point where the food is safe to eat. Also, if people would just take one more minute to slow down and check the expiration date on packages before they buy them, could keep themselves from becoming sick. All in all, due to the outbreaks from food, not only today but in the past as well, teaches people that they should not rush the cooking process and to check everything they eat before they eat it.

On tuesday Obama said that Al Qaeda after after a series of recent missile strikes and special forces raids has lost operational capacity. He has vowed to continue pressing the battle to cripple the network around the world and protect America from future terrorist attacks. They arested Najibullah Zazi. He was said to be trained by Al Qaeda to attack the US. He said theyre making real progress in our core mission. This doesnt really affect me but it is good for the community that the guy was arrested. NOw he cant attack the Us like he was being trained to do.

My current event is going to be about a newly released list of the Top 10 riskiest foods. The study from the Center for Science in the Public Interest list the Top 10 riskiest foods, in descanding order, in terms of outbreaks. The list is as follows: leafy greens, eggs, tuna, oysters, potatoes, cheese, ice cream, tomatoes, sprouts and berries. Scientists rated all the foods, which were regulated by the FDA, by the numbers of outbreaks and the number of reported illnesses since 1990. The illnesses were said to range from just minor stomache aches to death. The illnesses, caused by pathogens like E. coli, Norovirus and Salmonella, originated from food that wasn't thoroughly washed or cooked. The number of outbreaks and number of reported illnesses caused by the Top 10 in the past 20 years, in all was more than 1,500 outbreaks, totalling more than 50,000 reported illnesses. This should tell people to make sure they wash or cook their food.

for my current event I chose a story about a man who is among the most wanted suspects from the Rwandan genocide. Idephonse Nizeyimana was arrested and extradited . Idephonse was one of the four most wanted for Rwanda genocide. Other include generals, politicians, and other top officials, who are wanted for the killings. He is the second to be arrested in less then two months. It was one of the most brutal genocides ever, with bodies counting up to 1 million, or ten percent of the population. Nizeyimana was a captain the Rwanda Armed Forces, the tribunal said. He is accused of exercising authority over soldiers, he also is accused of sending a group of soldiers to execute Rosalie Gicanda, a former queen and icon of Rwanda. This is so appauling to me that in this day in age things like this are still happening. Massive amounts of people are dying for no reason. Although stories of people being arrested and punished do help, it still is hard to have hope in the people of the world.

Richard Samuel McCroskey III, a 'horrorcore' singer, is suspected of killing Mark Niederbrock, a pastor, his 16 year old daughter Emma Niederbrock, Melanie Wells, and Debra Kelley. The bodies were discovered by Elizabeth McCutchen and her friend while they were walking to the book club. Elizabeth turned to her friend and asked her if she smelled something strange, like dead bodies. They thought it was maybe a dead cat or dog. Police made the discovery of the bodies 24 hours later. This incident only reminds us that theres some sick people out there, and their among all of us. Emma was a fan of horrorcore and met McCroskey through the love of the music they both shared. Little did she know she would one day end up dead from someone she wouldnt expect.

This remiss me of lord of the flies too. The boys on the island are like the soldiers in the middle east. The ship that they see in chapter 4 is like the US government. The ship could very well rescue the boys but does not. Our government can very well rescue the soldiers from the middle east but they do not. It wad the most soldiers dead on a singal day sence July of 08.

the current event i have chosen to write about is the calorie labeling in New York. New York was the first state to mandate that calories had to be on menus. but a resent study showed that this law did not affect consumers purchases, and i am in disbelief about this statement. When i went to New York, i ate at the cheesecake factory and i was surprised how many calories there were in all the foods. things like salads or other seemingly healthy choices had high calories. and i know when i saw the calories i changed my mind about what i wanted to eat. And even though this law has not gone the way it was meant to, i think the government should continue to make it a law in each state. The Mayor Michael Bloomberg, said that it was the governments job is to make sure the public has information. I agree with him and i want to be informed about what i'm eating.

Yesterday i was given an assignment in my school store class to help fundraise for MD also known as muscular dystrophy. we had to first collect research on what this disease is and i was startled when i found out what it was, its one of the most horrific diseases that targets all of your muscle tissue and it is a disease that litterally eats you alive. The average life expectency is 2 to 5 years after enitial diagonosis. We came up with terrific ideas that will help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association which is a non-profit organiztion that raises money for the treatment and hopefully the cure for this disease. Some of our ideas included a competition vs milford to see which school could raise more money and that competiton is being held the week of the game. Another idea that we had was to sell wristbands that are kind of like the livestrong bands. Our overall goal is to raise $1000 that goes toward the cure of MD. I feel proud of myself because i know that i am helping people who may not be able to help themselves and that is the greatest feeling in the world. So the week of the Milford game everybody bring your loose change and BEAT MILFORD!!!!! and help the cure of MD.

For my current event I'm doing it about a "Horrorcore" rapper killing. On September 17th, Richard Samuel McCroskey III supposedly killed four people in Farmville, Virginia. The cops said the scene was so horrifying that they would not even describe it, saying the victims died of a blunt force trauma. MCroksey has been charged with only with killing one of the four victims, but authorities said more charges are pending. Police said McCroskey was invited to fly from his house in northern California to stay with his friend Emma in Virginia and then attend the Strictly for the Wicked Festival, a Horrorcore fest in Michigan with her. This connects to my life by before McCroskey was arrested he was going to go to a festival in Michigan. If he would have gotten away then this could happen again to anyone in Michigan or anywhere else.

Yesterday in Brooklyn New York, a mother was angry at her baby becuase it wouldnt stop crying. So she decided to cut the babys throat, and then stabbed a knife into her own leg. They say she has been taking medicine for her mental disorder, but she obviously didnt take it that day. All over the world today there is child abuse. And many people take medicine for montal disorders. You never know when someone could just come and attack you, for something little that you did. Its sad how these people act this way when they dont take their medicine, cause really there not trying to harm anyone. Its what happens to you when you dont take it, you go physico.

Today for my current event i chose Stocks jump again. Wall Street rallied Tuesday, gaining for a second straight session as a weaker dollar boosted commodities and dollar-sensitive stocks, fostering a broad-based advance. The Dow Jones industrial average (INDU) rose 132 points, or 1.4%. The S&P 500 (SPX) index gained 14 points, or 1.4%, and the Nasdaq composite (COMP) rose 35 points, or 1.7%. But that decline of just over 4% on the S&P 500 seemed to give investors the entry point they were looking for to jump back into stocks. This connects to my life and the community because its exiting to know that the stock market is improving. Also becuase the economy is so bad right now, its refreshing to know that something in our country is improving.

Today, a 72 year old woman got tasered by a cops after daring him to do it. She orriginally sued him for $135,000 to cover her pain and suffereing, medical expenses, and humiliation. However, the Texas Travis County commissioners made a counteroffer of $40,000. Thsi just shows how, while police officers are in fact out to help us and protect us from the bad guys out there, they can get out of hand. You never know who is gooing to pull you over on the side of the road. This whole thing that happened is just wrong. A police officer shouldn't taser someone just because they want him to or they dare him. He should have some dignity and say no. It will protect us all from the fears of cops. Overall, this was a very bad thing, and it shows us how while most cops are good, some of them have little self control.

I feel that closing Guantanamo Bay is a bad idea. I think that because I don't know abot you but I don't want those terroist in the U.S. Also Guantanamo Bay is a usefull place to acquire information on future terrorist attacks. I think that Obama(One.Big.Ass.Mistake.America) is a fool for wanting to bring terrorist on U.S soil. Why would you want to bring those peopleover here and have to spent a lot of money building a facility for them when where there at now is just fine. My current event is on Dog Fighting. People think it is funny to watch dog fights, i am here to tell you it is not. Dogs that fight each other are either injured greatly and some are even killed. Many people have been caught and put on trial. Very few have been put into jail after being found guilty. Michael Vick NFL superstar former Quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, was accused and convicted for the cause of dog fights. Vick was suspended from the NFL for quite sometime til the Eagles finally picked him up and made him their starting Quarterback. What we need to do is look into our hearts and see that these dogs that are possibly risking their lives to make money, have not done anything wrong. I'm sure some of you have dogs, how would you feel if someone bet your dog could kill another dog? Then your dog ends up dying. How would you feel?

Today I read "'Horrorcore' singer suspected in Virginia killings" on CNN. It was shocking reading this because it was to a prest and his family. This basically tells me that no one is safe. It scares me to think that there are more people out there like this. Apparantly after the daughter of the priest invited McCroskey to a consert he came. Later on he killed them because as he told reporters, "Jesus told him to". I personally believe he is makeing excuses for himself. He also enjoyed killing because he cut the bodies into pieces, like he sang about in his songs. This effects all of us because there are many people like McCroskey out there. If it can happen to a priest, it could happen to anyone.

Abuse is one of the many horrible events that is happening in the world everyday. After being executive producer of the movie "Precious" he came out and told everyone his secret of his childhood. He was one of hte millions of other children in the world who was abused and molested. Like the characters in the movie, his mother, two sisters, and himself were abused by his drunken father. He was also molested by an unknown man and a friends' mother as a kid. The world need to know that all forms of abuse are out there in the world today. The victims will carry the affects and wounds all their life from these experiences. Tyler Perry is doing a great thing by admitting that he was once in that bad position, because it gives the world hope that one day their life will get better if they do something about it.

For my current event im going to talk about a man walking from Texas to his hometown in Washington state and that has had a cross to bear for months. He's been dragging a 12-foot cross from Longview, Texas, to his Aberdeen home since May. The 39-year-old man says he was praying about his troubled past when he received a message to start walking on a journey of renewal. He took along the cross, which rolls on wheels with his belongings tied near the bottom. He expects to reach home Tuesday or Wednesday. Strickland says the trek has taken him through Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah and Idaho. He says he hopes to reconcile with the mother of his two children. I have had some trouble with my life to, but i never thought to take a journy like that. I would not have enough stength or will power to do that. I am proud of what this man is doing, i hope he finds the mother of his two children and becomes a better person.

I know you usually say no sports unless you can relate it to the world around us. So, I decided to do my current event on Miguel Cabrera's incident Friday night and how it shows that some people are above the law. They said he partied a little too hard the night before their big game Saturday. His blood alcohol level was .26 more than 3 times the legal limit for driving. Then he had a loud disagreement with his wife, which people are saying led to physical behavior, the cops were called soon after that. Dave Dombrowski the Tigers general manager had to pick him up from the police station 12 hours before their big game Saturday. This relates to real life because you would think that he would get in trouble by the Tigers for his incident. But in the article they say, "The Tigers can't suspend him, because his bat is too important to their chances of securing the AL Central title Tuesday night". So just because hes a good baseball player, winning the AL central title is more more important then being fair. If it was a normal, everyday person they could loose their job. So I think its unfair to have him not be penalized for his wrong doings but if it was someone else they would. They say that no one is above the law, but if he was just an average guy would they have let him off the hook like that?

A weekend onslaught ends with five U.S soldiers dead. There names were Joshua Kirk, Micheal Scusa, Stephen Mace, Christopher Griffin, and Kevin Thomson. Taliban militants attacked American troops on saturday. They had rockets, mortars, and heavy-caliber machine guns. It's said to be the largest number of Americans killed in a single day since July 2008.

Hearing of these people dying makes me extremely sad. And it must be even harder on their families. Having family members die is never fun. I know from personal experience.

This isn't something I found on the internet, or read in the newspaper, it's something I've heard from multiple neighbors, and it definitly effects my community, and others as well. Apparently, in my neighborhood, there has been an increase in crime/robbery. People have been breaking into cars, and houses late at night, stealing anything worth a penny. Which makes me really nervous because I just recently got a car, making a total af 4 cars at my house, my bedroom is at the front of my house, and my window faces the street. Growing up, and still to this day, I absolutly hate sleeping with my window open, I dont live in the safest trailor park, I get way to scared with it open. Call me a baby, and tell me to grow up, but just because I'm almost 17, doesnt mean I cant be scared of where I live. But, just knowing that people are breaking into cars and houses scares me even more. I personally, have nothing of value in my car except CDs, but my dad has ALL of his work tools, my sister lives out of her car, and my moms car is brand-spankin new. And, my house has a lot of junk in it that, maybe I dont think is very valuble, but others definitly would. Knowing all that is happening, just a few houses away from mine, makes me 'sleep with one eye open', and not want to have friends come over. Most people know my nieghborhood isnt the safest, or the greatest place to live, but with people going around breaking into things, concerns me for other peoples safety. I knew crime happened in my neighborhood, whether its robbery, assault, vandelism or drugs, but its really never been this close to my home.

This has no website, or newspaper to cite, its just something going on in my nieghborhood, that concerns me, and my community. It also may not be the greatest current event, but it obviously really effects me and my family.

The war of Iraq in slimming down, and know is turning into a counter-terrorist which is when a war turns into a search for what is left of the terrorists left in Iraq. Now Obama is still not sending troops home because he is still concerned about the rotations of the the troops that are still fighting. Meaning that he doesn't want the same people fighting all the time. He wants to still make sure they get there dismissal for breaks. Obama also wants to bring a modest building of troops closer to 10,000 than 40,000 which i think is a better idea because it may shall more lives in the future. Give our troops your prayers and always remember there fighting for our freedom.

He was reported to have come home drunk around 5 a.m. His wife and him got into a fight and the police were called around 6 a.m. He had a blood alcohol content more than 3 times the legal limit when brought down to the police station. 11 in a half hours later he was expected to play his next game. As popular as the Detroit Tigers are, I believe the players should be setting a positive example. Not only is he jepordizing his entire teams future, hes giving the Tigers a bad rep. I believe there should be consequences for his actions.

I was looking for something to do my blog on and not coming across much but then I found an article about a 54 year old man getting an award for saving his 74 year old woman neighbor from yellow jackets. In the article it read that the woman was gardening and tons of yellow jacket wasps started attacking her. Monaghan looked out his window at just the right moment to see that she was benign attacked. The woman has an allergy to wasps and was paralyzed after a few stings. Monahan ran out with a blanket and stared to “swat them off best as he could.” But he didn’t relies until he made sure his neighbor was in the hospital, that he had been stung in the neck over a dozen times and needed medical attention as well. This was an interesting story because this shows that there are still good people ion the world and later on in the story it states that the award he received, only 220 awards have been handed out since 1938. Monahan was not the 1st in his family to receive one, his 10 year old son also got one for saving his drowning brother. This is an interesting story because not only is his son a hero but so is he. this is just an uplifting story.

Kids are starting to receive the H1N1 swine flu vaccine today. The vaccine is being administered in both nasal spray and the classic needle injection. Dr. Richard Besser, ABC News' senior health and medical editor, believes that there will not be enough vaccine for everybody. When there has been such an epidemic/scare, people want to get vaccinated to insure that they or their loved ones do not get sick from virus' such as swine flu. I am nervous about this vaccine because, I always feel that it might do more harm than good. Researchers and scientists have only had about half a year to come up with a vaccine. We don't know if proper testing has been done, or if enough testing has been done. We can only hope that there will be no problem with the vaccine. None-the-less, many people will be taking the vaccine and be giving it to their children. Many people took the flu vaccine in previous years to prevent an epidemic. My family go the flu vaccine too. Let's hope that this will help us all this season.

She could not eat, walk, or drink and instead of taking their daighter to the hospital they prayed for her. They beliaved all healing comes from god. They now face up to 25 years in prison for second-degree reckless homicide. I think this is very stupid. Praying may do some things but i don't beliave it can physically heal a person. Some people beliave to much in one thing and it can cost you something like the death of a loved one. I'm doing my current event today on employees being "worked to death". There has been 24 suicides and 13 attempted work-related suicides in France's Telecom employees. Last week, a 51 year old man threw himself over a bridge, leaving a note blaming it on the atmosphere at work. In Japan, it is so common that it is referred to as karoshi, or death from overwork. People are under so much stress that they are having strokes, heart attacks, and just getting really sick. The economy is so bad right now and jobs are so valuable that people are under so much stress and it isn't ending well. This is a current event that can affect a lot of people. There is a big money struggle and people just don't know what to do. I think this is really sad and I don't think it should have to come to suicide but some people feel its the only way.

Monday night Brett Farve led the Vikings to a 30-24 victory over the Green Bay Packers, this was also the first time any quarterback had won against every team in the league. But most impressive of all, was the number of viewers that watched the game, 21.8 million watched monday night, and it had the highest network ranking for ESPN in its 30 year existence, with a 15.3 television ranking. I think that the vikings will have one of its best seasons it has ever had. With a star quarterback, and the best offensive and defensive line in the league, it should prove to be an exciting season for minnesota.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091006/

Last week i bloged about Obama wanting to elongate the school year. This week some of Obama's most valient supporters, teachers, are looking toward the other scenario. They are seeking to change to a four-day school week in order to avoid pay cuts and firings as our budget quickly drops. Many teachers' unions are trying to save their own asses by droping the amount of schooling that this country's youth gets in order to avoid pay cuts and firings. Teachers are suposed to be looking out for us, and doing what is necessary to benefit us, but recently, they have put our heads onthe chopping block to save their own. Rather than accept the inevitable cuts, teachers' unions have decided to take 17 Fridays off! That means that students will be out of school on Fridays, and teachers will have to cover the required material for the year in 163 days instead of the usual 180. They are calling it "Furlough Fridays". Our legislators say this was teh best was to save the teachers without impacting the schooling to a massive extent. I think that these furloughs are a timid, small-minded way of thinking. The people who are representing us should be a little more passionate about what is important to us. Even though no body wants to go to school longer, it is important, and it wil benefit us in the future. As a whole, our country does need more education. We have drasticaly fallen bechind in comparison to other countries. I think that the adults in this country need to start thinking of whats best for this country as a whole in the long run and stop being so selfish and ignorant. :)

North Korea has opened a new window by saying there willing to negotiate nuclear disarming. Right now most signs show thy will not eliminate all facilities. In 2007 North Korea agreed to disable all nuclear facilities. Last April and May North Korea attempted nuclear tests and missile launches. This had broken the old agreement with the U.N. and the United states. So far we are waiting to hear whats next. I think this is important that there finally contacting us again. They may not follow through but it sure lowers tensions between countries. Hopefully this time we don't let them slide as easy hence it's a serious problem we may have in the future.

Today im going to do my current event on Tyler Perry and how he clames he was beaten at a child. Tyler Perry has ever. for the first time, said details about the sexual, physical and emotional abuse he says he suffered when he was younger. on a web sit he posted some raw emotions and brought me to some things and places in my life that I needed to deal with but had long forgotten. It brought back memories so strong that I can smell and taste them. he is doing a movie on it. According to Perry, his father, a construction worker, uttered profane insults at him and relentlessly beat and belittled him. The random, violent beatings were commonplace until Perry was 19, he said. i think its wrong that parents can get away with beating there childeren or anything else. Its just wrong to punish your kids like that.

The most current event happening locally in michigan concerning me would be about the Michigan Promise Scholarship. The Michigan Promise Scholarship is a program that can provide students with up to $4,000 each, based on MME scores. The State legislators have decided to cut this program off as of yesterday. This is completely unfair to the students who are either half way through the scholarship or just starting. In fact it is unfair to up and comming students who are about to take the MME. A lot of students are denpending on this money in order to attend school. By making this cut, the state is said to have saved 200 million of the budget. The State is extremly low on money and it is understandable why authority would want to make this cut, but it just doesn't seem rational to take away something that is helping future citizens of michigan and building careers for millions. By taking this away, they are in fact decreasing the amount of college students and therefore higher jobs and a better economy. This affects me because I would have been promised that scholarship too, based on my scores. It will be harder to earn the money I need to attend college. It just seems completely unfair to students currently depending on that money to graduate.

For tonight's current event, I'm going to talk about the drastic jump in the amount of children with Autism. Studies have recently shown that one in a hundred children have Autism. Since there has been a recent rise on the higher rate of Autism, health officials are becoming extremely concerned. The National Survey of Children's Health contained a number of intriguing data points. The most noticed was the surprisingly high rate of one in 91 children ages 3 to 17 were described by parents as having an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis. As for the boys, who are four times as likely to have autism rather than girls, the rate was1 in 58. Rumors have it that receiving the regular vaccine may something to do with the recent increase in autism, but health official's are not positive. How this effects not only our community but many others as well, is that with a child having autism, it makes life very difficult for that child. However, they may not be aware of this, because they have adapted to the way their life is, but it also majorly effects their family members. Parents generally have to give a lot of their time to their child whom has autism, unfortunately. Having a child with autism, is like still having a baby, but larger. You have to give the child constant care and love, and be there for them 24/7. The recent jump in the rate of autism is very sad, they need to figure out what is the cause of it, and stop it soon, because the rate rises even more.

Today for my current event I'm going to talk about Obama says he won’t slash troops in Afghanistan. President Obama told Congressional leaders on Tuesday that he would reduce American forces in Afghanistan. I think Obama is right to reduce the amount of troops in Afghanistan, because we hae been there way too long. And we spend more and more money on military when we have money problems in the U.S. I think we should take troops out of Afghanistan instead of sending more.

For my current event blog I am going to talk about the ASPIRE (America Saving for Personal Investment, Retirement, and Education) Act. This Act would give each child born in the United States a $500 savings account. Recipients would then be able use that money once they were older to pay for education, a first home, or retirement. Low-income children would receive additional funding, and all participants could add to their accounts over time. Lawmakers are expected to reintroduce the ASPIRE Act before the end of the year. This has been tried before in Great Britain since September 2002. The first babies introduced to this law are now only seven years old so it is hard to tell the outcome. Many of the existing accounts have been added to already. This law entitles ALL recipients to have an account and therefore doesn't take much or any effort at all to establish some savings for the next generation. Our U.S. government hopes that this law will work successfully and benefit the families in the U.S.

In current news president Obama has decided not to shrink the war in Iraq into just a counter terrorism campaign. Now alot of families in the U.S. have family members in the army, so obviously it derects us in some way. For me it affects my family because my Uncle Jack flies helicpoters filled with supplies and wounded soliders throughtout the middle east area. But with Obama's decision we can expect to continue to send more troops, and pull less troops out. But Obama is surrently working with the sentae to pull more troops out. Popular or unpopular, Obmama will make a decision best for the country.

Caitlin Ringness, a 27-year-old film worker had her vehicles rear-view window smashed in while in Detroit. Usually this situaution wouldnt be a suprise, but she was location scouting for the filiming of the big movie "Red Dawn." Its a remake of the 80's movie being filmed in Detroit. "It’s really unfortunate this happened in a neighborhood we’re putting a lot of money into,” is what she said. That is kinda how I felt about this. So many people have been wasting thier money to TRY and make Detroit better. You cant even film a bigscreen film in thier town without something happening. My other opinion on this is that it takes a film location scout's story of being robbed to make it on the news. If someone elses car was broken in to in Detroit we wouldnt even hear about it.

Today when i got home, Oprah was on. There was a very interesting guest on the show. Today she had a 7 year old schizophrenic Jani. Jani is battling with voices in her head. She believes that she is in her own world, that lies onm the border, of our world and hers. She has hallucinations that are in the form of imaginary children and animals. There's a little girl named 24 Hours, a rat named Wednesday, and a cat named 400 who tells her to do bad things. She is not allowed to live around her brother, as these voices sometime put him at risk for her hurting him. She lives in her own apartment with on parent who rotates every day. This girl take 3 different medications a day to keep her from being a total wreck. Her parents are both on anti depressants because there is so much work and they are so stressed. My deepest sympathies go out to Jani and her family as she is battling with something that is so rare.

At http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2009-10-06-swine-flu-vaccine_N.htm the first doses of the swine flu vaccine arrived Monday as more than half the US reported widespread flu cases. "The level of activity we're seeing for this time of year is really unusual," said a spokesman for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The high number of cases, however, is not a predictor of how severe this flu season will be, he said. "Flu is unpredictable, and unfortunately we can't say one way or the other that what we are seeing now is a harbinger of what's to come," Skinner said. The CDC's Skinner said there was no indication that the H1N1 virus has hit its peak. The CDC has reported that 600,000 doses of nasal FluMist were being shipped this week. A total of 250 million doses — in both spray and injectable form — of the H1N1 vaccine are expected by flu season's end.
The swine flu might not be in our area but the possibility it might hit out community, Also with to new studies that the swine flu is spreading fast. So I feel that anyone that is at a high risk of getting the swine flu should get it. The only problem is that they don’t even make enough to vacancies half of the country. A problem with this vaccine is that people will not take it because it has not been tested before. Which makes sense because worried parents would want to know it is safe first.

Today for my current event blog I am going to write about the Oakland Raider cornerback, Chris Johnson. He says he was penalized for praying after an interception. Chris was penalized for "unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for excessive celebration". There is a rule that was put into effect in 2006, saying that there is to be no celebrating in the end zone. I think it should have been allowed, maybe a little bit. They said that he could have prayed, or helped an old lady cross the road, it still would not of matered. So pretty much the world is not allowing people to celebrate their relegion, and their beliefs. I think he should have been able to celebrate his relegion, but apparently sports people don't.

My current event today is about Richard Samuel McCroskey. He is a 20 year old horrorcore rapper who was arrested for murder. He is believed to have killed Mark Niederbrock, Emma Niederbrock, Emmas 18 year-old friend, and Marks wife Debra. In some of his rap lyrcis, he talks about killing people and putting their remains in black bags. He goes by the name of Syko Sam. This shows how sick some people are. People think that music doesnt have an influence but it does. Some of the festivals he went to had names such as dismembered fetus and phrozen body boy. These kind of people have no morals and don't realize the difference between rapping about something and actually doing it.

Today it is more news about obama. It is said that he has ruled out the option of shrinking the us troops in afganistan. He is examining on how to make things better as the war keeps worsening. He also said that increasing troops might not be the answer either. I think that this connects to lord of the flies a lot. I:n this case Obama would be like Raplh. He seems to be a good guy loking out for america, as Raplh looks out for the island. I also think it connects to the book because everyone questions obama and a lot disagree. Its kinda like when ralph urges everyone to keep the signal fire going and everyone wants to hunt. Obama says this war is important, like the "signal fire", but everyone wants to get out of the middle east. I could side with obama but also i look at it as i dont want anymore of our soldiers to die. I just hope he makes a good decision.

A high school in Laurel (around Washington D.C.) was closed today for disinfection due to 100 students missing class because of various reasons including the swine and seasonal flu. It was just a precautionary measure, but they wanted to make sure the surfaces all the kids touched were sanitized. Hundreds of thousands of vaccines are being delivered to areas around the country to prepare for the flu season. I feel like the swine flu is being blown a little out of proportion. I think it is good to be prepared, but then again, the swine flu does not seem to be all that much worse than the seasonal flu. I think cleaning schools is always good, because there is a lot of nasty stuff that people wipe on everything. I do not feel like sharing bacteria and viruses with everyone else, so I think this school made a wise decision in closing the school for one day. If we ever have a large amount of students not come to school because of illness, I think we should shut down school for a day too, not because I want to miss school, but because I do not feel like getting sick.

Just about two weeks ago in west virginia, two women on there way to a book smelt a horrific smell they just thought it was an animal of some type but what the police found on Sept. 18 was much more then animals. The police found a pile of dead massacred bodies. The bodies were later indentified as 50 year old Mark Niederbrock a pastor at a small town church, his 16 year old daughter Emma Niederbrock, Melanie Wells a friend of Emma's and Niederbrock's estranged wife, Debra Kelley a 53 year old professor. Police suspect 20 year old Richard Samuel McCroskey III a so called underground "Horrorcore" rapper. McCroskey rapped about the grussum ways he killed the victums like how he chopped there bodies into pieces. I think that this is a very spooky crime. This is the reality version of the horror movies we thought would never happen. But is scary movies and Horrorcore rap the reason for these murders? I think yes, young people do stupid shit they see on tv or through music just to look sweet. I bet he was just doing these crimes to earn street cred to support his rap music.

My current event for today is on the raises on. They said health insurance premiums for the typical American family would increase by another $4,000 by 2019 under a key Senate overhaul plan. The report raised questions about the political viability of the 10-year, $829 billion compromise bill drafted under the guidance of Senatetor Max Baucus. The Finance Committee is expected to vote on the plan Tuesday. The vote represents a potential turning point in the health care debate. Baucus' committee is the last of five congressional panels to consider health care legislation before debate begins in the full House of Representatives and Senate. The report from the group America's Health Insurance Plans concludes that, under the Baucus plan, the costs of private health insurance would rise by 111% over the next ten years. Under the current system, costs would rise by 79% and increase from there.
