I'm choosing how the price of gas has fallen in the last month or so. The demand for gas is much lower than in the past. Due to this, the rules of supply and demand have stepped in. It's kind of nice having gas prices so low. It has positively effected my life, as well as many others'. Now, people don't have to be so stingy about driving places due to the high gas prices. I'm just wondering how long these low prices will last.

Today i chose to blog about the weather citation for tomorrow. Hopefully we can have our first snow day of the year. They are calling for snow to start at midnight. They are saying we can get 6-10 inches of accumulation. hopefully the weatherman is right. It will be thew first big storm we have had in a long time. I think the weatherman has the easiest job in the world. If they are wrong they still get to keep their job. I think that would be awesome. lets say you have a job and you forget to show up. Oops i forgot to wake up doesn't matter i still get to keep my job. We all wish it worked like that. They say most of the accumulation will be in the early morning.

I chose how chrysler is shuting down. Chrysler car company is supose to shut down all production for at least a month. Chrysler said it was the continue lay back of customer credit for the american car buyer. Chrysler was the 3rd of the big 3 auto makers to supend production. A total of 4600 employees will be affected. This affects life because it is causing less people to loose their jobs. This is a huge issue for mainly the state of michigan.

Im talking about mike vick. He is getting realsesed from jail soon. It is a big deal to see what his mobe will be next. Im not sure what hes gunna do, im not sure if he will be able to play in the nfl ever again. What he has done is wrong almost every home in america has a dog. The nfl i think wouild like to have him back because the fact was he sold tickets. What ever team the took him would be taking a huge risk on him though. So thats what i think about mike vick.

Remember to check tuesdays and wednesdays blogs in for me Mr.Kay.

Global warming is a major issue throughout the world. Many bad things are happening as a result of this. The polar caps are melting, which hold a large percentage of the worlds fresh water. When those melt, there would be massive floods causing worldwide destruction along the coastlines. This not only effects humans but also may cause many animals to become extinct. This is an issue which needs to be dealt with globally not locally. Everyone can help by doing simple things everyday. Coral reefs are getting wipped out by the slight temperature differential which causes them to bleach, which relates to when they die they turn white. Global warming is causing destruction on a massive scale and we need to step in now because its never to late.

Im going to do my current even on the news that the murderer of Adam Walsh was solved after 27. He was only 6 years old when he was abducted and murdered. His father, John Walsh, became famous for staring on Americas Most Wanted. The accused killer, Ottis Toole, died in prison more than a decade ago. He was a convicted serial killer. His family's activism on his behalf helped put missing children's faces on milk cartons, started fingerprinting programs and increased security at schools and stores. I really don't understand how you could kill a 6 year old. They are 6 years old, c'mon, you have to be pretty sick to that. I have a 7 year old brother and he is a pain sometimes but i never get that mad that i'm going to kill him. This really doesn't affect me, but it helps the case for many others that are kidnapped.

The current event i would like to talk about this fine evening is the United States first face transplant. As you may know recently they attepmted a face transplant for a women missing one eye, and part of her chin and cheek i beleave. During the transplant they took off 80% of her face and replaced it with the donors. This transplant was 100% successful says the doctor, who seemed kind of young to be in charge of this case, but i guese times are changing. This by the way was done in the Cleveland clinic. They say that this women who received the surgury was mocked and made fun-of in the past, now in the future she can live here life in peace. This surgury gives people hope in the future for a better life, i think that with medical breakthroughs like this we can live in a much better world.

Age discrimination is a very important social issue that the world is currently facing and there needs to be more done. Yes, there are acts the protect the rights of ages up to 40, but I personally feel like there is so much more to do to fight age discrimination. Everyday all over the world all walks of life are hired and fired for looking too young, or too old. It is sad that image has become such an important factor in the world that people can't even get jobs because of the way they look. Age often goes into account when people are hired, which is sometimes reasonable, other times not so reasonable. Under the ADEA, it is unlawful to discriminate against a person because of his/her age with respect to any term, condition, or privilege of employment, including hiring, firing, promotion, layoff, compensation, benefits, job assignments, and training. The ADEA permits employers to favor older workers based on age even when doing so adversely affects a younger worker who is 40 or older. Even though the act protects so much there are often loop holes and faults in the act. Luckily, there are ways to fix the problem that is going on if the matter is serious because there are very strict periods for filing a charge. The EEOC can help you only if you keep to all the time requirements. Usually, you must file your charge within 180 days after the alleged act of discrimination. Today's youth now more then ever before has to deal with this matter because our elders often view our generation as out of control and spoiled so we really have to work hard to get where we want to be. Hopefully there will be more justifications to the current act so that there is no more age discrimination.

My choice of current events is the current Defense Secretary Rober Gates's plan to shut down the scar on the face of this country; Guantanamo. Never has there been more controversy. With the transcripts and videos of the tortures carried out there having conviniently dissapeared, I believe that is a good choice to shut down the most unscrupulous prison in the United States. There is no equal protection under the law. Granted, we may be in a time of way, but the detention of people without reason is illegal under the UN charter, which the United States signed in good faith. The facility must be shut down, and should be shut down, lest the government see it as a place to send people dissatisfied with the government. recently on NPR, they interviewed a lawyer representing a man there who has no ties to Osama Bin Laden or Al'Queada, but who was detained in Guantanamo simply because his New York liscence expired and the authorities got suspicious. He was waterboarded and has since fallen into depression. This isn't how we treat humans, enemies to the state or not. This treatment was abolished under the Geneva Convention regarding the capture and treatment of prisoners of war.

It's ironic that, in this country, we consider electing presidents who've won purple hearts and have been POWs themselves. But, when this country treats prisoners of war in the same way that was made illegal, the whole country looks the other way and places the platitude: God wanted in that way or; it's for the security of the nation. The only threat that exists in my eyes in the threat of a good-will government detaining those it wishes to silence by branding them terrorists under this time of hightened paranoia.

I'm disgusted with the institution, see it as a blemish on this country and wish it to be abolished. We've come too far to resort to using tactics such as Guantanamo. I find it sad that we try to stamp it out in other countries, yet turn a blind eye to our own problems.

Well my current event would be our weather snowstorm coming tonight. The national weather service has issued a winter storm warning which is in effect till 4PM Friday. A strong upper level low has pushed north and combined with gulf moisture and allowed for this storm to form. As of right now snow will start around the 4AM hour and come down heavy for several hours with snow rates of up to 2 inches per hour. The storm total acording to the National Weather Service should total 6-14 inches . Hopefully this will make for our first snow day of the year.

Ok, well I'm going to talk about white house giving a loan to the big 3 from loans to other places. I hate this idea. These loans were for the banks witch are super important. This loan will have some strap on's including that they have to make fuel efficient cars and such. Thy say that they will be sending 15 Billion of the 70 bill to the banks. That could happen by the end of this week. This effects my life because my dad works at a dealership and could lose his job. They say they will have to cut back and cut half of there dealerships. It's horrible because we depend on my dad's job.

Im going to talk about kids overdosing on cough syrup. Doctors have been seeing an increase in the amount of kids comin into the hospital with cold medicine overdoses. Mostly in young children. Many parents have been giving their kids larger amounts of cold medicine to keep them calm and quiet. This can become a major problem. There has been many reports from doctors that parents are giving their kids the medicine straight from the bottle into their kids mouth. Kids are getting poisoned and parents dont realize how dangerous it is. FDA is now considering changing the age on cold medicine to ban children using if under 12. Parents trying to control their kids by doing this is horrible and dangerous and could end up doing major damage.

My current event is on the military plane that crashed into a house. This happened in San Diego California. The Marien Corps jet had lost control and hit his house killing his wife, two children and ,other in law. The piolt was ejected from the plane and surrived. The man who lost everything stays by the piolt and doesn't blame him at all. He did everything he could have and their is no blame. Now an investagation is under go to see the main reason of the crash. My prayers go out to this man who lost everything. He just happened to be at work when the jet hit the house. They figured out the jet had lost contact and was unable to talk back to base. This was a very sad and scary insadent. Somthing like this is scary to know it could happen.

Sorry this is late Mr. Kay.. my internet was down lastnight.. :D

The current event that I think has became a country wide epidemic here in the U.S. is the obsession with tanning beds. We all know they are dangerous, we all know the effects of them, and yet we still cannot stop going. Over 1.5 million deaths in the U.S. this past year were a result of skin cancer. Why has this become such an addiction people ask? Well I believe that in this day in age; our generation is so overly obsessed with physical appearnace and they are willing to go to any extreme to get to the top. It doesn't help with all of the media obsession also with celebrities these days, and young girls, and boys are trying to be just like them. This actaully can become an addiction says many specialists, and that is why so many new cases of skin cancer are resulting every day. I guess people are willing to pay the ultimate price to look good these days, which is their lifes. Tanning beds have become such a growing obsession here in the U.S, and even though we all know and see the effects they are having on people, people still cannot seem to get themselves away from tanning.
