Tomorrow we will continue to work on the paper and presentation. I forgot to collect the sheet of who is doing what in your group but will do so tomorrow morning. Also, while I am also preparing for Communication Camp and running around I will be in the lab a bit more for any questions.
For tonight:

If a problem can be solved, then creating the stress of worry is simply folly, for there exists no need to stress about the things that are able to be done. Many of us worry ourselves with due dates and things of the like, however this is mostly due to the fact that we procrastinate so much. In this regard, we create the worry and stress for ourselves; aptly put, solving a solvable problem should not cause worry. On the other hand, however, solving an unsolvable problem should indeed cause worry. Though, if you take a look at what I just said you'll realize that the statement is impossible; solving an unsolvable problem is impossible. As humans, we take failure as the ultimate punishment in a sense. It's as if we never live down a failure, and if we do we focus on the negative aspects and what we did wrong rather than the optimism of what we did right. Instead, we should realize that the problem is unsolvable and thus destroy all of the worry and stress that come packaged with impossible problems that we try to endure.
If you can solve your problem, it is useless to worry. You should just go ahead and solve your problem! If you cannot sovle your problem, you need to stop worrying about it. You could ask somebody for help if you think that somebody else could help. If you make a mistake, it is a perfect time to learn. Therefore, it isn't that big of a deal if you fail! You should take every failment as a learning experience. You have no need to worry in life!
In Shantideva's quote it is saying that there is no use in worrying if you cannot resolve it. In other words, there is no reason getting yourself all worked up, if in the end you have no way of curing the problem. For example, people often worry about simple things such as what they are going to wear the next day. What is the use in worrying over it if in the end you will end up have some type of clothing on, you are most likely not going to walk out of the house naked. Other times, the problems may not seem to be quite so simple. Things like marriage, death, prosperity, ect. You have no control of when exactly how, why, or when you are going to die, but everyone will die eventually. So why waste your timing living your life completely sheltered and not living life to its fullest potential because you are so conviced you can prevent death. I think that it gets to a certian point in where you need to stop worrying and place your faith in whatever you may believe in. Things often have a may of working themselves out better then imagined, if you just trust. This, is easier said then done and something people try their entire lives trying to achieve.

This is saying some things are simply unsolvable. Often times, trying to solve these things creates stress. I actually apply this to my life quite a bit. I try not to worry about things I personally cannot change. However, when I find a problem that can be solved, I just try to stay applied to it. If you can solve a problem, all you need to do is try. If it seems like you can't solve something, but you know it's possible to solve, then you should just apply yourself more.
this quote took me a while to understand. to me it is saying that if you can solve a problem dont waste your time worrying about it. if it can be solved then you will eventually solve it. if there is a problem that cannot be solved then you shouldnt make life stressful by trying to do the impossible. you will find out soon enough if it can or cannot be solved. stress is bad and can and will effect you in a negative way. try to avoid being stressed as much as you can and you will be much happier

What this person is saying is that somethings can just not be solved. But for some people they even worry if they solve a problem and worry if they sovled it right. If you try and give your best effort then there shouldnt be any need for worrying about anything. But also some worry if they cant solve a problem. Sometimes things just cant be solved thats the way it is. So instead of getting your self all bent out of shape you should just do your best. And if you cant solve it dont dtress just let it be and go on with your life.
"If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?"
Shantideva
If you can solve the question, why spend the time figuring out if you did it right. If you know for a fact that you did it right then leave it that way. There is no need to second guess yourself cause you could end up changing your answer and mind. There is no use in busting your brain if their is no way to solve the problem. Some things you don't have control over. You will just have to deal with it in your life. You don't want to end up living your life all worried and scared. Go out and adventure with risks. If you have no control over just go out their and enjoy life. Make the best of it and live it up! Things are going to happen whether you like it or not. You might as well take risks and run your life. The quote is simply saying go out and enjoy life the best you can.

basically what it is saying, i believe, is what happens happens. sometimes there are not reasons for things. people need to understand there is no need of making problems out of everything. people function better when they are relaxed. and so the point i am trying to make is take life as it comes. problems can be solved once you come to them, as the quote "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it". there is no need worrying about anything. be an optimist.
"If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?"

If theres a problem, theres a way to figure it out. Whether you know how to fix it or not theres always someone who knows the answer. I worry when we have do dates because I procrastinate. If you know how to solve it then whats the worry. Solve it if you can do it. It depends what the problem is. If the problem is serious you should be worried. Find someone that can help you.
If you spend your time worrying about things that can be solved then your creating even more problems for yourself. If it can be fixed then try and fix it instead of making a big deal about it and freaking out. It doesnt help anything and it just makes it worse then it is. If the problem cant be solved then you shouldnt worry because whats done is done. No matter what you cant change what happened so you should move on with your life. Ive had to deal with this many times in my life. I always worry about things in the past when i should just move on and forget about it.
There are many problems in the world, some of which cannot be fixed and some that can. Its not worth being stressed about something that is possible to do in the time you are given. People in general worry way to much about everything. What time should I go to sleep, what should I eat, people just think to much. On the other hand, there are things that nothing can be done about. Situations like that should not even be dealt with. I mean come on, why bother. Most people need to back up and take a good look at reality, we all only have one life to live, so **** stress.
"If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?"
Shantideva
This quote is saying to do the best that you can do. What ever happens happens as long as you try your hardest. If you can solve a problem then that is great. If you cant solve it but you have given every effort to solve it then is ok. If you cant solve a problem because you didnt give your full effort than that is a bad thing. Don't worry about something that you know you are capable of doing. You should be worrying about something that could be a challenge for you. The most important thing from this is that if there is a problem than there is almsost always a way to solve it.

Does this mean we have no hope? It's only one way or the other and no between? This is how it seems to me. I'm going to have to say this is a very silly quote to say the least. Whoever came up with this was hopeless. I think that it doesn't matter if things seem bad, you try anyways or you never wanted to get there in the first place. That's for anything, you need to press forward if you want it and that's the end of it.
"If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?"

If a broblem is created and you solve the problem then you should not worry about it. People tend to worry about problems they solved because they dont want other people to know about it. But when a problem is created and you try to solv it but cant, that is when people start to worry. They worry becaust if the problem is bad enough they can get in trouble. The problem creats people to worry, and the worrying people are causing you to worry because you cant solve the problem. If people could learn to control them selves in stresed situations then the proublem could be solved quicker.
If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?"

if you have a problem and then end up solving it i dont think theres really a need to worry about it. Unless you get worried that it will become a problem in your life again. but for the most part i dont really think there is a need for it. But when you have a problem that you havnt solved. I wouldnt worry so much and just think of ways to solve it. You could even ask someone for help on solving it. I know i would. But if its not making a dent in your life or inpcating it in anyway. then just sit back and chill. dont let it stress you out if its not a big deal.
If we over think what the task that lies before us, and stress over it when it is easily solvable, than we are just getting ourselves into a bigger mess than what is needed. Many of us worry constantly because we feel as though there is so much going on, when in reality, there is nothing to be worrying about. Eery problem we get ourselves into, can be solved, it just all comes down to the way we work it out in our heads before-hand. Al though, some problems in our heads, seem to be that they are completely unsolvable, and in that case, there is no use in trying to solve it anyways. If we alrady have the mind-set that it can't be done, than there is no need in putting outselves through even trying to solve it to begin with. We all procrastonate in school, in life, in everthing we do, to some extent, and procrastination is the biggest cause to our stress and worry. If you know in your head that any obstacle that comes your way can be solved, you just aren't quite sure how to go about, than it is a waste of your time to even begin worrying about it, all it is going to take is some time and effort in getting yourself on task and working through your problem.
"If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?"

I thinks that this person is trying to say don't let the little things in life stress you out. If you get over stressed about the little things in life imagine what the big problems will do to you. There are certain things in life that are OK to stress about but there are also things that are just stupid to stress about. One of the things that are OK to stress about are things like a paper for school. It's just one of those things that you can easily get behind on. Then you stress about whether or not you will get it done on time. One of the things that are not OK to stress about is whether you get a teacher you want or if you have a faster car than a friend. Some of these things will get you worked up but you can't let them get to you. These are also things that you shouldn't care about. A friend should like you for who you are not if you have a fast car or not.
If you can solve a problem without building up to much stress why wouldnt you? If you have it under control there is no need to worry about it, as there is nothing there to worry about. There is no reason to ruin your life on things you already have done. If a problem is impossible for you to solve then why worry about it? Problems can cause alot of stress, and if your unable to fix it why take on that stress? your life is hard enough as it is and if theres somthing you have no control over ruling it dont pay attention to it. It is your life and you only get one, make it as easy for you as possible.
Solving your problems in life can still lead to worrying. Sometimes you may worry if you actually solved it right or made the right approach toward it. If you cannot solve your problem however that could lead to worrying because always in the human eye people worry about how things could turn out and think the worse. I cant get over how many times i worry about somthing that really isnt my issue and i over react. Failure is nothing we want to live up to and we should do our best to try to avoid it without causing problems.

Worrying is part of being human. It is easier for some people to control then others. Worrying to solve a problem sometimes helps create the solution. Worrying when you cannot solve the problem may prevent the problem from happening again. How a person controls their worry is the strength of the individual. We cannot control the price of gas or the economy right now, but my parents still worry about it even though they know it is not a problem they can fix. Yet that worry makes my family stronger because it keeps us from making financial mistakes. Worrying over a problem that can be solved or not is a useful organizing tool.

We as humans do worry to much in my opinion, and this quote lets us know that. We all suffer over the things that we can't change. It's rains so we all whine whilst standing outside and getting wet. Instead, we should all learn to walk with dignity, getting wet all the while, yet realize that since we can't do anything aabout it there's no use in complaining about it. The conjugate of that example is true as well. While one whines and moans about the rain whilst getting wet, you could just go inside, so why whine and moan in the first place? I think that this all happens because in this day and age, we are all used to instant results and getting our way no matter what. You go through the Taco Bell drivethrough, order a chalupa and - as long as you have money - get it 30 seconds later. Instant results. It's become our downfall and causes us to worry about things we can't change, and even worry about things that we can change, yet for some reason don't.
If you can slove your own problem what is the point of stressing out over it. And if you canont slove your problem what is the sence of worrying about it. It is saying that some things can not be sloved with a simple yes or no answer. Sometimes you wait and things just figure themsleves out. Sometimes people worry about the littlest things. And in the end they end up being nothing. So the quote is saying there is no point of worring. That is what the quote means to me
If you can solve you problem then you don’t have to worry. When you solve your problem it takes away the stress that is on you. If you solve your problem you will be happy and you don’t have to worry about anything. If you cant solve a problem then that brings a lot of stress on you. It can change you mood like you get anger a lot. You start to worry about everything. Solving your problems just makes it easier on your life.

P.s i just got my computer fixed.
I have herd this quote time and time again and it makes so much sense. its human nature to worry about things about thats what we will always due because we are human. what the point to worry if you cant solve the problem? i always say if your having a bad day its you who makes you have a bad day, you could easily smile or think of something happy and try to solve things. sometimes i think people like to be down when they are having a bad to feel bad for themselfs and sometimes i like to feel the pain too... like anyone would.
this quote will stick with me for awhile and i love that you posted it.
